  1. Just reading on afc.co.uk about young Nicky Clark, who is on loan to the Blu Toon scoring for Peterhead at the weekend. Went to the Peterhead website to see the goal (nice place shot from the edge of the box) I had a wee look at their squad and it is almost entirely ex-Dons. In the current 1st squad: Jonathan Bateman (keeper) On Loan from Aberdeen David Donald - Signed 2007 from Aberdeen Stuart Smith - signed from Aberdeen in Jan 2009, following two loan spells Neil McVitie - Joined Peterhead on loan from Aberdeen in Jan 2008, and the move was made permanent at the end of that season Ryan Strachan - A summer capture from Celtic, who can play in defence or midfield. Started his career with Aberdeen and won the Clydesdale Bank Rising Star award for Feb 2008. Jonathan Smith - Former Aberdeen and Wigan Athletic player David Ross - Signed on loan from Aberdeen in Mar 2008, and a permanent addition to the squad four months later John Stewart - (you can still sponsor him you know) Scott Michie - Out of a listed 1st Team squad of 19 that is 9 ex-dons!
  2. wow there where did you suddenly appear from?
  3. there is a link at the bottom of the article on afc.co.uk that takes you to the full accounts. You are correct about the last two points, would have to check your first point. 4. Glasgow sheep by name but Bunkree Sheep by birth
  5. Having had a brief flick through the online report it doesn't exactly look rosey. We may have "only" made a £300k operating loss but this was the worst in five years and contributed to a total loss of £1.6M. The debt has risen to over £10M and income this year will be further decreased. That seems like a stinking pile of shite to me and has put us back to where we were before the bumper UEFA Cup run season. Perhaps someone can tell me how much the management change cost us, but it seems to me that even taking that into account last season saw us make a significant loss. I imagine the agm will either be the usual cake walk for the board or descend into bickering about JC/MMc but surely questions have to be asked at how we are ever going to be in a position to pay back the £11M in 18months time that we owe the bank, and why we are still haemorrhaging money left right and centre
  6. Good news? That is a long time without, as you say, our best midfielder, esp when the options to replace him include Dung
  7. As much as I like the fact that afc seem to have found their voice and are speaking up for the team and the fans more than they have done in the past, that whole article seems a bit pathetic and cringeworthy to me. If you're going to complain make a formal complaint, don't stand at the sidelines whinging like some Harry Potter wannabe.
  8. Don't know about numerous chances for both sides. Our first (only) shot on target was McDonalds and I'm struggling to remember Langfield making a save before the parry from Stokes. Hibs had a lot of shots but most were nearer the corner flag than our goal I wouldn't let a bunch of jumped up wee shites stop you from going to Easter Road. Thankfully these are still isolated incidents and unfortunately we were in the wrong place at the wrong time on Saturday. Why should they win by stopping us from going to watch our team?
  9. We will get hammered for this: http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/article/dons-appeal-for-common-sense-20091102_2212158_1844992
  10. sounds fucking horrific. Hope the lad is ok. From Dundee Mad:
  11. ffs this story just continues to grow legs, now suddenly a firework was involved. Boy on Dundee Mad who was in the same carriage is saying it was a prank gone wrong and the hibs boys handed themselves over to the police straight away (see link http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=194&fid=100&sty=2&act=1&mid=2124037436 )
  12. fucking admin, nae sense of humour
  13. This was a train full of drunken football fans...what the fuck do you expect?
  14. send that to afc/hibs. Why the game wasn't held up I'll never know
  15. What did I say? Chaos out side pre match with 100s still queuing when the match kicked off and then more chaos inside when folk couldn't find seats, despite a huge big empty section in the top tier. As for the match not much to say other than the ref was total cunt and cost us the game. To top things off we got jumped by a group of about 20 hibs casuals on London Road after the match. Walking up, chatting to some hibs fan then all of a sudden a swarm of Hibs scum zeroed in on one of my mates who has ended up in hospital with a possible fractured cheek bone. Not one of us was interested in fighting them yet they thought it fair game to put the boot into a guy lying on the floor. CUNTS. The ever helpful police were nowhere to be seen till well after the event. They informed us that 30 Aberdeen Casuals had been herded onto a train north pre-match but until then they hadn't been expecting any trouble so had no units looking out for Hibs and had to call in a load of coppers for overtime. They also seemed to fail to notice a sizeable group of Hibs fans prancing about outside Middletons pre-match openly looking for "aberdeen". This all from the same police force that pinned us up against a wall on the Royal Mile a couple of years ago for daring to walk through Edinburgh with Aberdeen scarfs and shirts. CUNTS
  16. From mad folk are saying that the turnover was £8.6M and that the accounts will probably include the pay offs to JC etc!!
  17. The statement below is noticeably, and unsurprisingly, more vague about things than last years excellent figures. Obviously the good spin is that we met, or even bettered, our target, however any ideas on what time period we are talking about? Does this include the Jimmies/MMc change over? Would also be interesting to know the bottom line: turnover, debt, wages.
  18. But what is their real average crowd. There is no way they have had an average of 58,000 so far this season. There have been big gaps in any game I have seen them play, yet strangely the come up with 96% capacity. Don't know why they insist on counting season ticket holders who aren't there as everyone knows they are at it.
  19. fae the beeb Real Madrid, who have Benzema, Guti, Raul, Diarra and Van der Vaart in their starting line-up are now 4-0 down against Alcorcon/Bristol Rovers in the Copa del Rey. It's a two-legged tie, but still...
  20. Dundee 1 - 3 Rangers L St Johnstone 2 - 1 Dundee Utd L St Mirren 3 - 0 Motherwell L Barnsley 0 - 2 Man Utd L Blackburn 5 - 2 Peterborough L Portsmouth 4 - 0 Stoke L Sunderland 0 - 0 Aston Villa L Tottenham 2 - 0 Everton L
  21. Game is repeated as Live on Alba so don't see why it wouldn't be shown on iPlayer if the channel is. It is ONLY pay at the gate. Seems a bit stupid unless they are giving us a big section and opening plenty of turnstiles as even when we are shit we have a decent support in Edinburgh. Cue massive queues and no change
