  9. what? A football strip looks cheap and nasty?
  10. Was Seve not meant to lead by example? Obviously Anderson managed that but it took him a while, did it not, to be recognised by the support as a decent captain?
  11. I see Alex "eh" Smith is being employed by Falkirk. Perhaps we could kick off the season by beating Falkirk, a team controlled by Smith (how long till he gets sacked...again) has Pressely as assistant manager and McNamararara in the team?
  12. We had an "easy" home game last season I'll go for a tricky home game, maybe vs Hibs.
  13. So with Seve almost definitely on his way who will take the armband for next season. Unsurprisingly there are few options in our team, perhaps that explains the way we have crumbled under pressure situations too often in recent times. I suppose Diamond is really the most likely option with the others included as they are the only other senior players likely to be playing every week.
  14. Show me anyone that is "going ott" about this appointment? (you are not allowed to cite Niall in your answer)
  15. No. As others have said JC had the full support of the the fans for a good couple of years. It was only really over the last couple of seasons that the support turned against him en-mass. Yes in the long run McGhee, or rather Aberdeen, need to win trophies. However missing out on a trophy next season won't instantly turn the support against McGhee nor is it a prerequisite for our support next season. Reekie's post suggested that we are all waiting to decide if McGhee will have our support. I would suggest, with the honourable exception of you, everyone will be fully behind him, just as we were behind JC, Pele, Ebbe, Alex Miller (ok maybe I took that too far but you get the point). We expect some basics, winning more than losing, a few goals and football that doesn't make you want to tear your eyes out. To maintain the support a run in Europe would go down a treat, but really that would be a bonus, and a cup win in the next few years would seem to be a requirement to meet HIS stated aim of taking us to the next level. However missing out on them in his first season would hardly be a disaster. This coming season he should be qualifying for Europe and making a decent fist at at least one cup. Anything better and he clearly has out done JC, anything less and it is likely to be more of the same we've "enjoyed" over the last few years. Nice to see that after giving people so much abuse for not supporting JC and hounding him out your willing to afford McGhee a similar level of support
  16. I would have thought he will have the backing of the Red Army from the start, and as long as we do reasonably well and the football is a bit more entertaining will be given a bit of time to settle in. His priorities, before the season start, however must be a central defender and a replacement for Seve. Ideally he should win a trophy but he won't need to do that to win over the fans so I'll go for good football and buying a defender.

  18. The amount made from suing the press/huns that claim we sing "Who's that lying on the stair well" would clear our debt alone
  19. I can only find a story linking the binman to Motherwell Sure SSN aren't just confusing Scottish teams?
  20. From SPL website (posted 27 May): The Clydesdale Bank Premier League season only reached its climax on Sunday but fans don't have long to wait to find out the 2009/10 fixtures. The schedule will be published on the morning of Wednesday June 17, with the first news on this website. The opening SPL games of 2009/10 will be played on Saturday August 15
  21. Bad Science, by Ben Goldacre. A must for all, especially for those confused and frightened about media scare stories, esp MMR.
