  1. only one way this thread is going so it's closed
  2. No desire No imagination No skill No composure No pace No control No job
  3. and where is this money going to magically appear from? We spent £100k on Tommy Wright which is about as much as anyone spent in the SPL this season
  4. not to start an argument but it wasn't fosters fault we didn't win tonight. The blame must lie at the feet of our so called senior players like Seve and Smith who yet again didn't deliver. I'll give you Calderwood however and his ridiculous 451 and matching dun-fucking-fermline Do our team never fucking learn?
  5. FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a bloody nightmare. Took Smith about 115mins to get past someone...how many times did he lose the ball? No final ball, always looking for one more pass and yet again fucking woeful corners. Fingers crossed but on this form even falkirk will beat us
  6. Right back off to the TV for the 2nd half Good luck everyone COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!
  7. Good to hear the home crowd getting out sung by 6-700 pars fans. Moving the ultras to the Y has made a massive difference to the atmosphere Real problem is that our bench is Young, Wright, Duff, Considine.....who the fuck do you put on out of that lot?
  8. from my normal seat at the back of the RDU the pitch looked poor but watching it on tv it looks feckin honkin. Good start from us, surely mackie should have scored, but poor the 2nd quarter. Need to get the ball moved up the park quicker with mackie, maguire and aluko on. Trying too much at times. Looks a good crowd however....probably explains the shit performance
  9. For all our "cut backs" over the last few years all we did we slowly reduce our yearly losses. We have made an operating, pre-interest, profit once and an actual real profit once in the last god knows how many years. It must be doubtful whether the bank would have been as accommodating with our negotiations a couple of years ago if they were conducted today. 2 years time we need to pay off all our rolled-up interest payments and presumably renegotiate our £7M bank loan. The plan had been to be in a new stadium around about this time but that clearly won't happen. Aberdeen Assets and SMG are hardly in the most secure sectors of the economy at the moment so I would suggest our main hope is to get into the Group Stages of the Europa cup a couple of times and hope that the TV/Prize money helps drive down our debts a bit. If the banks are screwing the huns for £20M then surely it won't be long before they are screwing us for our £7M, given the comparative turnovers.
  10. In/Out: Oot Pre Match: Chipper Match: My Flat Post Match: My Pit Prediction: 2-0
  11. Is this the clearest winner ever? 76% for maguire
  12. well done in quoting my post bit by bit
  13. Do we not have a similar deal with the club shop? Just Sport run it and rake in the profits while we get a set amount each month?
  14. If you check the links in the original post it doesn't look like it. I know this site isn't an official UEFA site but it is generally recognised as the most accurate site on the go about european competitions. From the second link (http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/access2009.html) it would appear that the holders are the only ones that get straight into the group stage, the other teams coming from the 4th Qualifying Round (37 teams) and from the chumps league qualifying (10 teams)
  15. Langfield Foster Seve Diamond Mulgrew Smith Duff Kerr Aluko Maguire Mackie
  16. Yes, unless the huns win the cup in which case: Cup Losers gets you into the 2nd qualifying round, 1st leg 16th July, 2nd leg 23rd July 4th gets you into the 3rd qualifying round, 30th July/6th august 3rd gets you into the 4th qualifying round (final round before the groups), 20/27th August
  17. Games to go: Hearts: Rangers (a) Killie (h) Celtic (h) Falkirk (a) Aberdeen: Hibs (a) Well (a) ICT (h) Celtic (a) United: Celtic (h) Hibs (h) Accies (a) Killie (h) Hibs: Aberdeen (h) United (a) St Mirren (a) Rangers (h) Motherwell: Killie (a) Aberdeen (h) Rangers (a) St Mirren (h)
  18. Agree with everything that has been said. Terrible game but alot of that has to do with the poor pitch and even worse weather conditions. They started better but after we scored there was only ever one team in it. Maguire was lively all match, scored a peach and with a bit more luck could have had more. Smith again looked good and if we can keep him fit for the next 2 months it may be the difference between getting into to europe or not. Would like to Seve back into the centre of defence, sadly his days as a midfielder have gone, and our defence looked alot more secure with him at the back. While McDonald is out I'd give Duff a go in the middle of the park, he certainly isn't a RB, and put Foster back into the defence. Thought we looked a lot better when mackie came on and a front four of smith, aluko, maguire and mackie looked to have a fair bit of pace and invention about it. Wright didn't do anything for me. As poor as Miller has been recently we need him back asap. Finally excellent to finally see afc pick up the 3pts while hearts and united both lost. First win since January's unexpected win at Killie. The next few weeks are crucial (obviously). Looking at the fixtures we can either cement our challenge for 3rd or be sucked into a 5 way battle for europe. Easter Road and Fir Park are difficult enough at the best of times but surely it is vital we, at worst, get a point at each. Roll on Dunfermline, who lost, again, yesterday
