  1. Interesting, if slightly paranoid take from an Accies fan on P&B
  2. Based on nothing more than my lack of footballing knowledge and what I've seen on other sites about various pre-seasons. Celtic Rangers United Motherwell Aberdeen Falkirk ----------------- Hearts Hibs St Mirren Hamilton ICT Killie
  3. I see the trailist never even made it off the becnh last night wtf is the point in that? Surely there are better, available, players out there?
  4. wow we scored a goal! :ultras: :ultras: :ultras:
  5. I think they were just going to introduce it unilaterally.
  6. got to love how these two supposed rivals constantly join forces to try and bully their way to more cash. Have the OF ever NOT voted together at a SPL meeting. One and the same.
  7. fuck you OF!! Falkirk F.C. have decided that all tickets for the forthcoming SPL match with Rangers on Saturday, August 9, will be sold locally…>> The decision was made after both Rangers and Celtic stated an intent to impose a five per cent levy on the tickets they sold to their own supporters for away matches throughout season 2008-09. Falkirk FC, however, have resisted the move by the Old Firm to charge for providing such a service and, in a change to normal procedure, will facilitate the sale of North and North East Stand tickets to away supporters. Managing director George Craig explained the change in procedure, “Since we returned to the SPL in season 2005-06, it was always the preference of all concerned that the away club would facilitate the sale of tickets to their own supporters." "Recently, along with all other clubs in the league, we received letters from Rangers and Celtic informing us that if we wished them to continue to provide this service then a five per cent handling fee would be charged to the home club.†"Over a season this would mean that a considerable amount of Falkirk FC gate revenue, which has already been allocated to the playing budget, would have to be re-directed.Therefore, we have decided not to take up this offer and we will in future co-ordinate the sale of tickets for home matches involving the Old Firm. We also hope that by having tickets available for the away sections we will minimise the instances of home tickets being bought by visiting supporters, which has caused problems in the past." The Club has now teamed up with The Falkirk Herald, their official media partners, to ensure that the bulk of tickets for the opening game of the new campaign will be made available to Rangers supporters who live in the local area. The sale will initially be by postal application. This week’s edition of The Falkirk Herald (available from usual outlets on Thursday, July 24) will include a special application coupon. Away fans who wish to attend the match are asked to complete the coupon and return it to the club by 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. Applications can be made for a maximum of four tickets and FULLY COMPLETED* coupons should be returned to the Stadium, accompanied by the correct remittance and a stamped addressed envelope. They will be processed on receipt and successful applicants will receive their tickets in the post in good time for the match. Should there be over subscription then any unsuccessful applicants will receive a full refund. However, any tickets which remain unsold following the postal phase of the sale will go on general sale on Tuesday, August 5, at 10 a.m. from the Stadium ticket office. The general sale will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 8.
  8. rest would essentially be paid by a mortgage. You don't think we are actually going to pay £50M upfront for a stadium do you?
  9. Can't remember where I read it but someone said that due to the way the stadium would be financed the club and council would only have to pay about £4M up front
  10. Fairly standard stuff. Would have been better if he came out and said "I'm not a fucking RB but the gaffer keeps playing me there. Then to make matters worse he puts those fucking clowns Mair and Considine together next to me. How the hell is that going to work? The boss says the defence was sloppy. Big-fucking-surprise. Sloppy suggests that Mair, Considine and myself as a RB can do better. We can't. We're fucking useless".
  11. Always heard good things about McVittie (amongst others) yet we punt them. Meanwhile we are struggling to sign enough players so JC start talking about promoting youth from within. Youth players that are presumably less experienced than the lads we let go this summer. hmmmmmm
  12. He'll do well at hibs or falkirk. He'll get relegated with killie.
  13. If this goes ahead we might as well all pack up and head home. Are the 12 spl clubs not all meant to be "competing"? Why then do 10 of them repeatedly bend over to take it from the "big" 2.
  14. the main stand had a shelf life of 5 years.......10years ago
  15. Like the rest of you when I got a text about this at midnight from sheep_shagger I presumed he was pissed and confused. Preseason or not this is an absolutely unacceptable disgrace Getting a horrible feeling of deja vu about this pre season. Last year we lost Anderson, never replaced him with a new signing and spent about 8months trying to work out the best partnership at the back. If I remember correctly we played a different back 4 in every pre-season game last year, and it looks like we are going the same way this season. Mair and Considine was clearly going to be a disaster, and hopefully JC has realised this too (at last) and acknowledges the fact that if we lose Zander and Seve we are completely fucked (and tbh we're not great with them either). A new CB is an absolute priority and if he is not in place before Aug 9th then I'll have serious concerns. But regardless of any new siging, injury permitting, we need to play the same back 5 in every game we can to build some kind of confidence between now and ICT on the 9th. The other recurring problem is the lack of fire power up front but I'll excuse them lack of match fitness and say it's still early in preseason. Finally it is easy to go over board, and perhaps I have too, but for Peterhead this was probably the biggest game they'll have till the buisness end of the season. Lots of ex-dandies with points to prove too, and didn't they do well.
  16. League 1 (division 3) beats the SPL again
  17. can we afford to wait 2 weeks and then discover he has failed the medical? NEXT oh and League 2!? So Division 4 in real (old) money
  18. Seems this Tommy Wright is a done deal Up to Aberdeen for a medical. All I know about him is he is a target man, and Darlington Websites seem thin on the ground. Anyone know much about him? What league are Darlington in anyway these days? Would we have been better going for the Linfield loon?
  19. Hibs are a total shambles Hearts have a new manager, no new players and no money Motherwell surely won't reproduce the form that got them 3rd, especially if the share some our UEFA cup luck United had their best season in years, yet finished behind us. OK we have lost several players but almost all of them were bit part players. I don't think anyone would disagree we could do with a few extra players (and we will sign a few before Aug 31st) but I can't see much from the rest of the league that has me panicking about the up coming season
  20. ok would make sense someone said Paton and Stewart were away playing an U19s game but as Stewart was there I guess it makes sense Paton was too
  21. no some young lad who I didn't recognise. Was on the bench, but didn't get onto the park (while every other sub bar the keeper did, I think)
  22. bernard could have been a great signing, if he had stayed fit. Him and Jess together in the midfield were awesome.....for the 3months that both stayed fit. Oh and Eion Jess is still my hero too. Wouldn't it be nice to have a player that would warrant hero status again. Who was the last? Probably Jess and Shearer.
  23. surely Duff is one of the ten
