  1. I have to say I enjoyed the bouncey!!
  2. I think I predicted a final, but hoped for a cup win. The season has been a let down thanks to the performances in two cup semis and the defeats vs well. Won any of those games and it would have been a great season. Here's to next season
  3. signed United: Best season in years Hibs: another superb season from the brazil/holland of scottish football And yet again we finished above both!!! Oh and where are hearts??? Crap season, but if this is a crap season I can't wait for next season
  4. it was us singing "your only here to see the dandies!"
  5. easiest access to the pitch if any hun fans get any ideas
  6. I've heard folk talking about it on the radio. Surely McGhee isnae that fucking stupid. I thought he was getting the celtic gig anyway
  7. Lets just worry about getting a result. If worst comes to the worst the surface to air missiles can be brought out to dissuade any helicopters from entering Pittodrie airspace
  8. fair enough ed, and I did realise that when I re read it. I agree in general with the boycott but a letter from some donside hun spouting typical hun stuff didnae really get me that annoyed. tbh the stuff that really pisses me off in the P&J and the EE (apart from their quote-less speculation pieces) is the negative, anti dons fans stuff that seems to emanate from the corridors down at Pittodrie ps hope you don't mind me advertising your tshirts on here
  9. seems a bit of a non-event to boycott the Aberdeen Journals over this. Plenty of other and better reasons to boycott them.
  10. tbh only time I have seen huns in our end was the main stand back in the 90s just when they were trying evict them from the Merkie end of the Main. A solitary hun with kid decided to celebrate a goal by waving a union jack about. He didnae last long. Same day some boy lobbed a pie off McCoist (or maybe Durie's) head and received a standing ovation from the Main. So they're not all boring old farts....well apart from BTR
  11. Surely the famed "database" should stop too many huns from infiltrating. Presumably even huns aren't stupid enough to sit in the Rds or SS so the poor kids and auld-mannies in the merkie and main stand will have to suffer them
  12. Aberdeen defender Zander Diamond has been rewarded for a fine season with the official player of the year prize. AFC fans have been voting in their thousands online on Northsound 1 and Northsound 2.com. Diamond just pipped Lee Miller to the award, with Barry Nicholson coming in third. Meanwhile Josh Walker's strike against Bayern Munich was second in the goal of the season category. Jamie Smith's volley in the 4-0 win over Copenhagen picked up the top prize. NORTHSOUND / REDTV PLAYER OF THE YEAR Zander Diamond 35% Lee Miller 33% Barry Nicholson 24% Sone Aluko 4% Richard Foster 2% Derek Young 2% http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/94/fe/0,,10284~3669652,00.jpg[/img] NORTHSOUND / REDTV GOAL OF THE SEASON Jamie Smith v. Copenhagen - first of four goals in the Dons Uefa Cup win at Pittodrie 64% Josh Walker v. Bayern Munich - first goal against the German giants 16% Darren Mackie v. Dnipro - All important strike in Uefa Cup Round 1 second leg 12% Jamie Smith v. Motherwell - free kick in 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie on the 15th September 3% Jeffrey De Visscher v. Celtic - his goal in the 1-1 Scottish Cup draw 3% Lee Miller v. St Mirren - Second goal in a 4-0 win at Pittodrie on 7th October 2% http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/95/fe/0,,10284~3669653,00.jpg[/img]
  13. Perhaps in the past but no trophies in 13yrs, two cup finals in the same period and europe twice in eight seasons suggests that is no longer the case, and really we are no more attractive than united or motherwell and probably less than hibs and hearts (although thanks to romanov that is probably changing) Moving to these clubs makes it unlikely that they will play in europe but they probably have a reasonable chance of competing for a place in the premiership, perhaps a chance to play at wembley in the play offs, play in front of full houses every week, big premiership sides in the cup and certainly get paid alot more. Is pittodrie and the odd game in europe every five years really more attractive?
  14. He won't be fit. Not properly match fit anyway. How often has he come back into the squad after just getting into training and being pronounced "fit" only to break down 20mins in the game with another month long injury?
  15. This topic has been moved to Football Chat. [iurl]http://www.thedandies.co.uk/messageboard/index.php?topic=4166.0[/iurl]
  16. Probably not a popular suggestion but as the huns will almost definitely need a result to win/confirm the title at pittodrie should we not just give them the whole SS to reduce the number infiltrating the home support and thus reduced the chance of any trouble. Whatever happens I hope the police keep them in the stand this time. I imagine the home crowd will be as poor as we've seen for a rangers game. It is often a wee bit lower than you might expect as folk don't like taking their kids along, but given the fact our season is over (as stated by our manager), the game is on a thursday and the potential for trouble I would think alot of folk won't turn up.....I'm not.
  17. Some Hearts fan on P&B claimed to be happy with the result as it would mean Frail wouldn't keep the managers (sic) job. Quite who he sees replacing him was not explained.
  18. Too many lows, not enough highs. The strange thing is that the highs: Dnipro, Copenhage, Munich(h), celtic in the cup, were stunningly brilliant highs, some of the best I've experienced as a dandy. Yet on the other hand we had some of the lowest points I can think of, particularly the two cup semis and probably the worst performance, outside the end of the Pele era, that I have ever witnessed in our defeat at Rugby park aftet Munich. The league season in general has been poor, with a feeling of disappoint and frustration to often. The UEFA cup was always going to be a bonus and tbh papered over the fairly substantial cracks in the squad. Having said all that the season could have been a good one if either the recent well game or a cup semi had gone our way, but they didn't and the fact that I haven't been back since the semifinal tells it's own story.
