  1. CHAMPIONS! It's official! RedMatchday is the best read in the whole of Scotland! Having dominated the SPL awards for the last seven seasons now (2002-08), the Dons have finally nudged Clyde off their perch as Programme Monthly's Programme of the Year in Scotland after they have held the trophy for a dozen seasons. For Aberdeen, it's the fifth time we have won the overall title, adding to wins in 1981, 1985, 1990 and 1992. The Programme Monthly judges made particular mention of the fact that RedMatchday caries a greater volume of text than any of the competition, which means you get more to read for your hard earned cash - there's value for money! RedMatchday is lucky enough to have some of the best writers in the country providing material. Contributors include AFC Club historian Kevin Stirling, Richard Gordon, Jimmy Calderwood, Ally Begg, Scott Severin, Andrew Morrison, Dave Macdermid, Red Final Editor Chris Crighton, researcher Colin Massie, English correspondent Bill Thomas, US correspondent Ian Thomson and European Expert George Rutherford. The magazine is designed and produced by Chris Hallett at Cre8, edited by the Marketing team at Pittodrie - Lisa Sheran, Alan Hay and Malcolm Panton. The photography is provided by Newsline Scotland and SNS Picture Agency. Photos are also provided by Andy Convey, Ray Smith, Kara Griffiths, Action Images and big thanks also to the Aberdeen Journals Library. 7. and we come to the crux of the problem. It is farcicial for a country the size of Scotland to have 4 national bodies governing the sport (SFA, SFL, SPL and SJA), never mind the myriad of senior leagues. This conversation talked started talking about removing the fear and letting teams relax more, only to then go on and advocate 2 relegation spots. The whole senior set up needs streamlined, but tbh the top 12 as it is, is probably the best we're going to get at present. The only immediate change I would make is a 2nd relegation/play off spot. We simply don't have enough fans or sufficient quality of teams to go increasing the league to 14 or 16 and leagues of this size are just as likely to require contrived compromises such as playing each team 3times or "group stages" in the league cup. I would have an SPL1 and SPL2 then regionalise everything below it. Incorporate Highland League, South and East of Scotland leagues and the Junior set up and have the SFA control the lot, disbanding the SFL, SPL and SJA. It may happen one day but with some much self interest in the football it won't happen any time soon
  8. I have tried emailing afc but no reply as yet (although to be fair I did send it after 6pm) Bit reluctant to start collecting money for our supporters club until I know roughly where I will be sitting
  9. actually it must be more than that as that shitty website has just drawn a straight line between my flat and pittodrie
  10. By my calculations I have travelled 3120 miles just to watch games at pittodrie this season Now where can I work out how much I have helped bump up global temps because of afc
  11. Pie and Bovril is usually the home of some decent debate but looks ike some window licker slipped through the net http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79336&st=0&start=0 I hope any of you lads up the road make any rangers fan walking about the granite city in a rangers top welcome
  12. fucking alcoholics I am on night shift that weekend so will be trying to catch a couple of hours sleep before heading up to the ground for kick off
  13. It should be at hampden, not least because we haven't been there for 8 years and I don't want most the players first hampden game to be vs the hun in the final. In anycase Queen's are talking of taking 10,000 which doesn't seem unreasnable given it is their first cup semi since....well fuck knows when. We took 7000 to a midweek semi in the middle of winter so I would hope we'll have atleast 10,000 there too. There is no stadium in the country that can accommodate that size of crowd apart from the 3 glasgow stadium. Yes the 1215 ko is a pain but it a million times better than the 1830 Sunday KO we had last time we played a hampden semi
  14. fucking night shift that weekend hope it's quiet as I'm going to be fucking knackered after watching aberdeen in a cup semifinal
  15. but abergreen only raise their game against the super rangers
  16. strangely enough in their QF he was clean thru and got the ball passed straight to his feet........ he hit it straight at the keeper good ol' Johnny
  17. I fucking hate JC But he's our JC and at the moment I love him to bits....well almost
  18. what the fuck would be the point of a strike? They don't play Gretna get no cash from the tim game and go bust. That's hardly gonna help the players get paid is it?
  19. looked out my window just after the last pen and there were already hordes streaming past my window. fuck-pigs
