They got their man on the board and disappeared
-
I've got an idea. Don't get rid of any of the players, bar the ones intent on leaving anyway. Bring in a proper football MANAGER who can play the best people in their best positions every week without having to resort to a tombola and see if we can get a few more of those types of performances we've seen this squad produce (Hibs/United/Copenhagen/Munich at home) Then let him spend money on players he has seen, scouted and understands to improve the squad rather than punts on players his son recommended or who he got in his last lot of pannini stickers
-
It's taken him all season to try (and fail) to work out what his defence should be with essentially the same group of players he had last season (minus Anderson). How long will it take him when he makes this many changes to the squad?

performance of JC's entire afc career

Will a win on Wed make everything all right again? Remaining Pre-Split Fixtures: Wednesday, 27 February 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Aberdeen v Motherwell, 19:45 Haven't got a thing off them all season and can't imagine we will start now infront of 8000 furious fans Saturday, 01 March 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Rangers v Aberdeen, 15:00 No win since 1991. We'll be lucky to keep it to 3 or 4, even with Wattie's 451 Saturday, 08 March 2008 Scottish Cup Aberdeen v Celtic, Sixth Round, Our "last game of the season". Would be the most remarkable win of his reign if we do get a result.......we won't Saturday, 15 March 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Aberdeen v Gretna, 15:00 Well if we can't win this then surely even JC can't survive Saturday, 22 March 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Aberdeen v St Mirren, 15:00 Again surely a win should be expected, even with our current dire form Saturday, 29 March 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Inverness CT v Aberdeen, 15:00 Presumably a scoring draw.....or will ICT finally get that win over us? Saturday, 05 April 2008 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Aberdeen v Falkirk, 15:00 A team that often out performs us but can't buy a win against us. Top6 could well depend on this game....if we're lucky I would say at best 10pts from that lot and looking at the table and falkirk, ict and hearts fixtures this probably still won't be enough

John Stewart scored the odd goal
-
Of course we have no divine right to win matches because we are from a city rather than a town. However it can't be argued that we have more potential to do well than pretty much anyone in the league outside the OF. Getting hammered at killie or by united or hibs can happen. But to happen repeatedly would suggest that something isn't quite right, unless the ambition of the club is to be a motherwell, united or hibs who have the odd good season every 10yrs. We should expect more than that. If the board don't then they should leave now. Our run since xmas is totally unacceptable. And I would argue that it is our divine right (sic) not to have to endure such a run without kicking up a bit of a fuss

I agree that Lovell has shown little in the way to deserve a start, however he has done 100x more (ie score fucking goals) than Maguire who is light weight, has limited skill and wouldnae even score in a brothel. Maguire has had one good performance for Aberdeen. He has been stupendously terrible recently, even by the standards of the rest of the team and needs a spell in the reserves (or out on loan) to give him a kick up the backside. A struggling first team is not the place to hope a youngster finds form I was being ironic hence "winger". It is JC who signed him, JC who doesn't play him in the correct position or indeed very often and I would hope that JC would see that he was never going to add anything to todays performance. Lovell might have scored. JDV might have jog about a bit, but never much more.
-
I'm sure I'm one that is "over reacting", but we aren't losing games by the odd goal. We aren't lacking that we break up front. We are getting destroyed week in week out. JC doesn't seem to know what to do and in fact is adding to the problem. A win on wed won't solve these problems and will only paper over the cracks......... I hate to say it but mizer has been right in what he has been saying about JC...even if he has been fairly hysterical in the way he put it across. I think most of us knew this but hoped that things would somehow come together at some point, ending in a cup final or decent league finish. Neither looks even remotely possible now
-
difference is that we really, really, are in the shitter now
-
you are missing the point some what. The point isn't that Lovell is any good....that is a separate discussion. The point is that a half interested Lovell is still better than maguire. A Miller/Lovell partnership is certainly better than Mackie/Maguire and taking off your only striker and replacing him with a lazy ass dutch "winger" when 2-0 is boarding on sectionable
-
You know that, I know that, the 500 others at Rugby Park certainly know it too. Does JC? Do the board? Infact do the press? It'll all be our fault again.
-
Jimmy's Ability..... One substitution today meant that i)Foster moved to left back ii) Aluko want wide iii)mair moved to centre back iv) Diamond moved to centre back v) Maybury moved to right back & vi) Seve moved to midfield. There must have been twice that number of the course of the match. Even my 5yr old nephew would realise this madness
-
Is he still alive?
-
ach well that made a huge difference I can report that despite a couple of good saves the main problems with Soapy persists.....he doesn't communicate with the defence (what there is of it)...leading to even more panic and confusion than already created by JC in his prematch team talk. His kicking was also, if anything worse than Langfield, and he flapped at a number of crosses
-
But who is the real afc? The one that has played a handful of decent games in europe or The one that have turned up in all their domestic games...bar a couple of freak performances....
-
.....be darren mackie?
-
Anyone heard his post match thoughts yet? I presume they centred on how tight the board are, how poor the players were, how unrealistic the fans are and how brilliantly he has done getting us so far in europe. Would be nice if just for once a reporter asked him: "So how do you explain your 16 centre back pairings, your inability to form a solid defensive unit and indeed any unit at all this season anywhere on the park?" or "What exactly were you thinking putting maguire and JDV on?" or "What exactly is the point in duff and mair?" or "What on earth was that starting formation all about?" or even better, "Do you not take any responsibility for the shambles that has been our domestic form for most of this season?"
-
we can't afford a major restructuring....and although the board have to take some blame JC's questionable signing policy and total disinterest and a proper youth and scouting set up means we can afford his "major restructuring" even less.
-
I can't wait...night shift
-
Initially the chants were from the killie fans directed at the idiot in black. When JDV came on some of us sang it too...but tbh I'm not sure if you'd have heard us that clearly on the radio....but maybe you did. The hammerings, the embarrassment, the humiliation of the Pele and Ebbe eras were meant to be a thing of the past. We have lost over 20 goals in 6 games. I hate to think what the crowds will be for the rest of the season and I really don't know where we go from here. After Pele I always thought the next appointment would be the last throw of the dice. The last chance to get us back where we all feel we should be (and no weegia that is not titles and euro cup wins), the last chance to get those lost fans back......ach well
-
He was already trying to deflect the flack onto the board pre match as apparently he was saying that if he still had Hart, Anderson, Heikkenen and MCnaughton then none of our defence would have been playing in munich......great for player morale no doubt but also clearly a dig at the board for not stumping up. Last season and the start of this I was very critical of JC but decided on getting behind him given our reasonable league position and good cup form but deep down I feared that was just papering over the cracks. JC has persisted with his tinkering and the horrific pre season "preparations" meant we had no pairings anywhere on the park....particularly in defence and this has cost us dear. At the moment I feel he should go..unfortunately we can't afford to sack him.....so we need him to do the honourable thing and fall on his own sword. Problem is his ego is so big he won't take any blame for this. .......fuck I'm depressed
