  1. piss up and brewery spring to mind I daare say he has better things to do that check the team lines but is David Taylor not still on the Brechin board?
  2. Ah ok, that makes sense, but not sure that the Nazis down at L&B Police headquarters would agree to the change. In anycase the Scottish Cup game takes priority and St Mirren won't agree to missing out on a 5th round saturday cup tie crowd
  3. think you'll find that United are playing St Mirren in the cup. The only teams we still have to play that aren't playing on Sat are Gretna (h), ICT (a) and Falkirk(h). It would make sense to have the game at pittodrie as the police and club were expecting a game anyway. The Gretna game could potentially be shifted anyway if we beat united so best to get it out the way now while we can
  4. Just said the exact same thing on Aberdeen Mad. A particularly good idea when you realise the Gretna game is scheduled for the same weekend as the League Cup Final.
  5. I may be wrong but I'm sure Scottish Cup games take precedent over league games, meaning a weekend SPL game will be moved to midweek so we can play Brechin/Hamilton on a Saturday
  6. certainly sounds like brechin are fucked hopefully it doesn't rebound on us...the sfa hardly have a track record for getting shit like this sorted in the space of 4 days. And for those not on mad: 15. Eligibility of Players ... (b) When a match which is postponed, drawn, or abandoned, is played or replayed, only those players who were eligible at the date fixed for originally playing the Round, may play. Paton first played for Brechin on 19th Jan as a loan signing from AFC, and the original tie against Accies was on 12th Jan.
  7. Could Brechin pull off a shock here? Surely we would beat either side anyway: Airdrie Utd 0-2 Kilmarnock L Hamill 25 Nish (pen) 37 Brechin 1-1 Hamilton HT King 48 McLaughlin 12 Gretna 0-0 Morton L
  8. again fae mad: heard from a copper mate that they are setting up roadside inspections on the A90 in the lay bye just opposite the garage on the forfar road looks like any sheepie buses traveling south are gona get stop and searched as soon as they hit dundee just before turning right for edinburgh, hope they all get taken to bell street for a couple of hours
  9. The latter stats are for all league cup games, not just semifinals. Aberdeen have won through in 3 of the 5 semifinals: United/Aberdeen League Cup Semi Final Records: 1981 (League Cup, two legs) Dundee Utd 0 - 1 Aberdeen, Aberdeen 0 - 3 Dundee Utd 1985 (League Cup, two legs) Dundee Utd 0 - 1 Aberdeen, Aberdeen 1 - 0 Dundee Utd 1988 (League Cup) Dundee Utd 0 - 2 Aberdeen 1997 (League Cup) Dundee Utd 3 - 1 Aberdeen 2000 (League Cup) Dundee Utd 0 - 1 Aberdeen
  10. I don't see how they have enough police for this anyway given there tendency to round up any group of fans and treat them like criminals just for having the gall to be football fans. The prospect of having 2 sets of "away" fans to harass must be really getting them excited.
  11. Some more copy&paste for you: Nicked fae mad: Nicked from the Utd site: Lothian & Borders police have also requested that the following is advised. "During recent months, it has become apparent that various groups of supporters travelling to and from Edinburgh for football fixtures have been openly disregarding certain provisions of The Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act, 1995, in relation to alcohol and supporters buses. Although the above legislation is fairly complex, it basically makes it an offence for any person to be drunk or to carry alcohol on a bus that is capable of carrying 9 or more supporters, and that is hired for the purpose of conveying supporters to or from a senior football fixture in Scotland. The onus for ensuring there are no drunken supporters or alcohol on a supporters’ bus falls on several people. Any supporter found to be drunk or carrying alcohol on a supporters’ bus would be liable to arrest, imprisonment and a substantial fine. In addition to the supporter, the driver, the hirer of the bus and the bus operator would also be reported and similar penalties would apply. On match days, a team of officers will now be specifically tasked to carry out checks on supporters buses to ensure the aforementioned legislation is being adhered to. Lothian and Borders Police would encourage all supporters, regardless of their team affiliation, to enjoy visiting Edinburgh to support their team. We would however, ask for your cooperation in ensuring that this enjoyment is not spoilt by those who continue to be drunk, or to carry alcohol, on football supporters’ buses." Someone has also posted that buses leaving Dundee will be searched - not sure if that will apply to Aberdeen buses too. The L&B Polis statement is now on RedWeb too.
  12. They're both shit Everyone is shit arrrrrrrrrrhjhhhhhhhhggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
  13. Aberdeen return to League Cup action in midweek with a semi final meeting against rivals Dundee Utd. Aberdeen will be smarting from their dismal showing at Tannadice but they have the ideal opportunity to set the record straight. Aberdeen have not been to a major final since 2000 and that represents the clubs longest spell without reaching a final since 1967. Unless Aberdeen reach a final this season it will become an unwanted post war record of not reaching a major final that would then stretch to nine years. The longest post war droughts are 1947-1953 (6 years), 1959-1967 (8 years), 1970-1976 (6 years), 1995-2000 (5 years), 2000-2008 (8 years). Aberdeen have came up against Dundee Utd at the semi final stage on five occasions with Aberdeen holding the edge. The Dons successes came in 1985, 1988 and again in 2000. Aberdeen wins draws Dundee United wins League Cup 9 5 9
