  1. With a couple of exceptions we have been brilliant this season and finally are getting the rewards the team and manager deserve. I think the biggest difference in the last two weeks has been McGinn and if he had been fit we may well be clear at the top.

I really hope with a home game on a Saturday at three we will see a big crowd v Dundee at the end if the month. But then we saw a two thousand drop after perhaps our best performance of the season v hearts that still saw some morons booing.

Seems to be a great spirit amongst the players and I'd happily pay the entrance fee every week just to watch wee Ryan Fraser. But perhaps the biggest influence has been Anderson. We missed him badly when he went down south and his proffesionalism and attitude make such a difference to the team. Best captain since the days of big eck when he took over from Willie?

  2. After two or three poor performances glad to see us back to our early season form and get the result our play deserved for a change. Main differences today were jack at right back but more importantly McGinn up top with Vernon. Completely changed our attacking fortunes and I'd give Vernon motm.

Also good to see josh in his best position - impact sub. Hopefully build on this next week but always tough at rugby park and they just had a stunning win v hearts.

Despite the poor performances recently we have the best players and team and the most attacking set up and attitude we have had for years. On top of that we have genuinely exciting players who are worth the admission fee alone. Shame they aren't being rewarded by a decent crowd in pittodrie but hopefully if we do well at rugby park and tannadice we'll get a decent crowd for Dundee which is a full month away.

  3. Langfield was our MotM, kept us in it single handedly.

Midfield was poor again, my mate was calling out for 451 again to get more numbers in there.  Osbourne has by and large been a stand out this season and our team is worse without him, perhaps he wasn't fit last night but was very poor by his standards.  Our midfield without him is usually a pale imitation of our midfield with him.

Magennis is not a RB, should put Jack back in there, but on the occasions he got forward did cause trouble and should be kept as an impact sub.

Really the only outfield player to get pass marks was Smith how had some great touches looked lively and played a sublime ball for McGinn in the first half.

Looked better when Vernon came on but by that time had no idea what our actual formation was.

Overall they were better than us by some distance.  Was a bold move by Brown making so many changes, some enforced, and it didn't quite work.  I think Smith deserves another start but would imagine Fraser will come back into the team on Sat if fit moving Smith to the bench.

I'd be looking for a 442 with Vernon up top with McGinn or Smith but who knows what it will turn out like.

Worrying thing is that after a promising start and some excellent performances particularly v St J and Hearts we have got progressively worse over the last 3 games. Not sure why that is but a win and two draws are a good return given how poor we have been.

At least we are into the next round, now just to avoid Sevco

  4. Anyone heading down for this?

Ticket set up seems a bit of a farce:

Aberdeen FC support will be accommodated in the East Stand .it will be unallocated seating. Entry is by ticket only, NO cash turnstiles will be operating, tickets have to bepurchased fromthe ticket pod situated at the corner of the Main Stand and the East Stand . The Pod will be open from 6pm. Please allow extra time for this.

The ticket prices are Adult £15, Concession £10 and Under 12's £5.

The Turnstiles open at 6 45pm. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

    eh wtf?

Queue to buy a ticket then queue to go through a turnstile.  That seems particularly retarded even for fife.

    I'll be there

  5. The formation isn't so much the problem as the players in it. Motherwl plated pretty much the same formation but had a striker who was excellent in that role and quick support coming from the midfield to help out which caused us no end of problems.

We either need to go 442 and start mcginn or smith up front with Vernon or keep with 451/433/4321 and start with Smith instead of Vernon. Personally I'd hook Vernon and go 442 on wed with Smith and McGinn up top.

The biggest concern for me was not the defence which never got to grips with higdon, law or ojamma but our midfield which for the second week in a row was posted missing. We really struggle without Osbourne and Hughes seems to have reverted to type after an excellent start to the season.

Oh and a big get it up you to those that left at 3-1.

    For wed I'd go with

    Clangers

    Jack cadger consi Robertson

    Hayes Rae Osbourne Fraser

    Mcginn Smith

But sadly we'll see Vernon and magennis in there somewhere
