  1. Well they better be handing copies of these over to the bbc, hmrc and the fraud squad then. (I would say the originals but the shredder down at Hampden would be in over drive)
  2. Aberdeen in not signing McFadden SHOCKER!! http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4330833/Faddys-a-no-go-for-Pittodrie.html
  3. O'Connor's contract not being renewed at hibs apparently. Worth a look?
  4. Well I posted them and am up North at the moment so will see when I get back to Glasgow
  5. I see Craig Gordon has been released by Sunderland. Surprised how badly he did down there but suppose he never really got a decent run at it after some terrible injuries. Wonder where he'll end up, suppose he'll be targeted by Sally and Mr Green's warchest
  6. There is so much deluded bullshit in this it's hardly worth commenting on:
  7. Part of the decision commented that the ban doesn't stop them resigning players they already have and as they have 40+ professionals on their books their claim that they would struggle to get a team out was bollocks. Hang on a minute 40+ players, and nobody has been sacked yet to save on cash? Are D&P the administrative equivalent of Sir Minty? Can't wait for the first over paid "star" to jump ship, only a matter of time till all but the scumiest 1st team players are left
  8. And why would they think having a 3 country bid where none of the countries share a land border would be a good idea?
  9. Rebecca Brooks, her husband and four others are being charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. Carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment
  10. These deals are already banned.
  11. Perhaps, but surely if they get a cva they will be off loading a few players to cut the wage bill. These guys will need to be replaced as their business model requires European Football which they might not get with a team of kids. In fact does there business model not require Champions League Football? They are aware we will only be getting on spot in the CL for the foreseeable future thanks to Rantics god awful record in recent years? Fucking house of cards
  12. Now isn't this what got them in the shit in the first place? I'm sure HMRC will be delighted to agree a cva and then see rfc spend millions they can't afford to build a Champions Leaue team
  13. Interesting discussion after that post about whether this will be the case or not, citing other SFA rules. Seems to me that with talk of CVA more optimistic than it has been for some time this will be crucial in what kind of rangers we see in the next few years. Crucial to rangers functioning as a viable business will be restructuring of the wage bill which will mean selling a number of players, which will also help pay off the debt, and replacing them with cheaper players. Mind you this then will have an impact on all the Champs League money they seem to be determined to rely upon.
  14. fuck me some of you lot of short memories. I was comparing the trip down to Killie the other week with a similar end of season game there. Similar crowd, similar shite season but the other week was night and day compared to that match. It was at the end of Pele's reigning I admit but that match must rack as one of the most humiliating I have seen from an Aberdeen side. Perhaps I'm just being blindly naive but we're not that far from a reasonable side. If we get Milsom and Osbourne fit, get in a partner for big Vern and a couple of guys who can play somewhere other than the middle of the pitch and we could do ok next year. This year was tough but by god even in recent memory it wasn't even nearly the worst or the most dispiriting.
  15. It's worth a go. The evidence is that it has worked to an extent in Canada but I think their minimum unit price was a bit higher, and raised a number of times. It reduced A&E attendances and alcohol related illness, which is ultimately the aim. Will it change the culture of booze in this country? Probably not but it'll be a start. It won't really effect binge drinkers but will have a more significant impact on underage drinkers and daily drinkers. I agree it's not exactly ideal that the Supermarkets will get vast profits from this but the Scottish Government are hamstrung by the limited powers they have in this area. The Westminster Govt are considering a similar scheme presumably related to the tax on alcohol but are going for a much lower 40p unit price which will have a far smaller effect. Labour's opposition to this seems a bit disingenuous an opposition for opposition sake (again). We have dramatically changed attitudes to smoking in the past 10 years with legislative change and in the Govt would be negligent if they didn't at least try something to tackle alcohol abuse. There won't be a magic bullet but it may help in making a small change. Now lets see them do something about what will be the biggest public health issue in the next 20 years - obesity.
