  1. Overall our ST are pretty reasonable, but I'd be cutting the walk up prices, £23 is criminal. Also like the black and gold thing, student deal and recommend a friend. At least they are trying. Unfortunately even without the rangers fiasco the cup semi defeat and our league form for much of the year will mean there will be little impact in terms of more bums on seats. Perhaps if Newco aren't allowed back in (or even if Milne shows some balls and votes against them) fans will reward the club and buy up some of these STs
  2. No Folk have been debating this on P&B and there seems that there is no requirement to have a UEFA licence to play in the SPL so Newco could play in the spl but would have no Euro football for 3years. UEFA require it for European football but there are ways round it in domestic football.
  3. So our <cough> last season at Pittodrie: Well I'll happily hold off renewing while we wait and see what happens with rangers. If a newco is formed and they aren't allowed back in I'll happily sign up for their back and gold thing, pay full price and waive my 10% for getting some others back to Pittodrie. If they fluke a cva I suppose I'll renew but we better have some decent signings on show. If the newco is allowed straight in......I haven't decided yet.
  4. Not often I'd suggest we should have followed uefa but this seems like the right idea: http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spl/rangers-takeover-rangers-squad-could-move-straight-to-newco-1-2273459
  5. I think the SPL move to an extent is irrelevant. Until a newco is put in front of them no decision will be made about whether to let it in or not, they were never going to be able to pass a rule saying that was an absolute non starter. Once rangers have been liquidated and the newco is applying presumably their vote goes so it will be a lot easier to pass any vote. In anycase I'm still not sure Miller will go ahead with his bid and then we'll be back to more posturing but little action from the Blue Knights while Sandy Jardine calls for a jihad against American tow trucks. The players wages go back up to their original value in a few weeks. They have played their last home game of the season and have no income and will be losing £1M+ every month. We still don't have a result in the BTC or the SPL double contract enquiry. The clock is ticking. There is only so much more fannying about rangers can do before the opportunity of setting up a newco which is ready to play in the SPL at the beginning of August has slipped by. And whatever clubs might want they couldn't possibly change once the season has started. It could well be that when the seasons fixtures are released in June that rangers won't be in a position to guarantee they can play these games.
  6. Well Ross County have amazingly managed pretty well without ever playing Rangers so perhaps that's one more vote on the side of good we can count on. Given Rangers could still be in administration with no cva, newco or anything else sorted for some time, any idea when it's is deemed to be the new season? Is it from kick off of the first game or is it some other point during the summer? Presumably at this point rangers have to be able to make some kind of guarantee they can complete fixtures, and if still in Admin will be due another -10pts.
  7. hmmmm Ok it's good it's getting taken out of the boards hands, had to be a decision taken by all the clubs, not the Board. Why did rangers request the meeting be postponed? I thought they wanted clarification sooner rather than later?
  8. I suspect it has been delayed as they can't agree. I think there will be a few chairmen who want to play hard ball but the majority want to let them back in, but enough to pass any resolution either way. Easier to push it further down the line when hopefully some of the issues have been resolvec (BTC and SPL enquiry)
  9. I suspect despite what they say on TV none of the Unionist parties will have any interest in forming a coalition with the SNP in the run up to the Referendum
  10. worth a watch http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/17975022
  11. Were Glasgow First not just pissed off that the Labour party had finally tried to get rid of some dead wood in the Glasgow Party and so they went in a huff at not being selected, quit the party and set up their own gang? School playground stuff.
  12. Enjoyed my day out, esp as we got comps via Jason Brown (as did half the support by the sounds of it) Considering there were only 178 of us there was a decent noise from the support and decent banter. Game itself was pretty good, open game with both sides having plenty of chances. Masson took his goal well while they scored after exposing a gap down our right after a storming run by big josh end with him being bundled off the ball on the edge of their box. We had two goals disallowed, probably correctly but would like to see them again as one of them looked close. Also had a great chance for a winner than we inexplicably missed.
  13. What's your ward? Partick West? Think a Green was elected there. Overall looks like a score draw between Labour and the SNP with the Scottish electoral map quickly becoming a two party state. Lib Dems surely can't drop any further in terms of councillors and MSPs but they will probably have one more disastrous election (General election 2015) before they see any up turn in fortunes. Labour - big improvement on 2010. Managed to stem the flow of votes away from them in Glasgow and did remarkably well to gain overall control in West Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire. Equally becoming the biggest party in both Aberdeen and Edinburgh must have been an unexpected surprise. Still trailing the SNP and still a fair bit off winning any Scottish Parliamentary Election but disproved the assertion they were wiped out last time SNP - Most number of seats, biggest vote share, most number of gains (on 2007 result), increased their lead over Labour locally from 2007, gained control of Dundee and Angus and at one point had won more seats in Scotland on the night than the Lib Dems had won UK wide. But stalled a bit from last yr. Vote share down about 10% from 2011 and although a different election with Independents certainly taking alot of their votes away will be disappointing. Terrible result in Glasgow and poorly managed. Shock in aberdeen too but UTG may well have tipped the balance. Tories - Hardly mentioned in the coverage. Moved into 3rd nation wide but still managed to lose votes and seats. Every year we are told they have hit rock bottom but they just keep dropping further. An irrelevance everywhere except the south. Lib Dems - bloody hell. They won't exist in a year or two at the rate. Need to de-couple from the Tories asap but the damage has been done, and large parts of Scotland will take a generation to recover. Their own personal highlight was getting beaten by a Penguin in one Edinburgh Ward. Greens - Good improvement esp considering the squeeze caused by the two party state we have become. Representation in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Midlothian, Aberdeenshire and Stirling
  14. They have done. Labour will be biggest party, the LibDems were the largest party: Final Results for Aberdeen; Labour- 17 SNP- 15 Lib Dems- 5 Con- 3 Ind- 3
  15. LibDems having a bad day, esp back home in Aberdeenshire:
  16. Lost all seats they were defending I think. Meanwhile not looking good for the Lib Dems up here Labour could come from 3rd to top in Aberdeen, presumably partly to do with the LibDem and SNP stance on the UTG. Glasgow and Edinburgh too close to call.
  17. Seems ConDems have crashed down south as expected with Labour making pretty big gains. Be interesting to see how things pan out in Scotland but presumably given it is STV there won't be any councils where a party has overall control. Apparently heading for the lowest turnout in years up here but then you'd hardly know there was an election on where I stay. No posters or billboards and I only got one leaflet through my door which was Tory, which is bizarre given in my ward I'd imagine they'd do well to get even 4th on 1st preference never mind get anywhere near a seat. Don't suppose it means much so far away from a GE but already had Tory MPs demanding Callmedave is more right wing after UKIP success in the south and comedy figure Lebit Opik demanding Nick Clegg resigns as leader of the Lib Dems (but seemingly stay on as Deputy PM). Also glad to see that so far nobody has voted in favour of Mayors in various English cities. Total waste of time and money and nothing more than a celebrity driven ego trip (see B. Johnston and K. Livingston)
  18. Motherwell: Entered admin: 24th April 2002 Exited admin: 20th April 2004 Dundee: Entered admin: 25th November 2003 Exited admin: 6th August 2004 Dundee(2) Entered admin: 14th October 2010 Exited admin: 12th May 2011 Still plenty of time to go yet. And Funster the scale or duration of their mismanagement is irrelevant. If they get a cva and are found not guilty of double contracts they can't be punished further. I can't see both of these being achieved however, though it will take some time to find that out.
  19. This is getting silly: More Alex Thomson gems:
  20. Channel 4 interview some D&P guy: My link Hmmm I'm confused and maybe I was totally wrong. If the oldco and newco co-exist who has the SPL share? What the fuck are oldco meant to use to "clean up" their finances? Does Whyte not own all this stuff that is being transferred to NewCo, how does that work? And why should anyone in the SPL be discussing potential penalties with the accused? Does the judge have a chat with an accused fraudster about how his sentence will impact on his company?
  21. as I said: The huns could quite easily enter the new season still in Admin (-10pts), unable to sign players (due to being in admin, never mind the SFA ruling) and having lost 90% of their first team squad apart from the odd ubercunt like McCulloch and Naisy
  22. We paid wages we couldn't afford for years. Dundee spent millions, Motherwell filled their team with ex-OF players on massive wages. We cut our cloth, the other two didn't and cheated but "got away with it". If we were in the same situation at the moment then we would have had a 10pt penalty and that would be it. All the rest is just hypothesising. I would have hoped our admin would have actually tried to save some money by sacking folk etc and made some kind of progress but if we were waiting on the HMRC tribunal I suppose they would be fannying about like D&P are as well. I dare say we would be getting plenty of abuse from other fans as the huns are getting but probably not the media love-in that rangers are, that would be the biggest difference. If they get a CVA then they have had the punishment that was set down in the rules and that's it. If the get a CVA fair play, those are the rules and they won't be the last. If they liquidate then there should be further punishment. That is a totally different ball game. All this talk of SPL assurances is just bullshit. The SPL can barely agree when to meet never mind agree to give a blanket assurance to some Yank nobody has ever heard of. Even if they stay in the SPL as a NewCo, which is far from certain, they will still have significant penalties. No europe for 1-3 years, likely points penalty and probably some limitations on signing players. They certainly won't be "competitive" in the sense Sandy Jardine means. That wouldn't be acceptable to most fans, nor me, but will still be an utter shitstorm compared to what rangers fans expect. This Bill Miller will fuck off soon enough but even if he doesn't nobody is doing anything till HMRC slap down their fucking huge bill.
