What do folk think of the League Cup idea? My computer isn't opening the pdf for some reason but I understand they would be suggesting, for example, a league cup group of Aberdeen, United, Dundee and Saints. Would this cover the loss of home league matches caused by the change to 16-team league (30 game season)? I was going to say it was doubtful but I suppose if they opened the season with these "derby" games, in good weather you might see some decent crowds.

Pretty decent game of football. We started better and Mackie scored a brilliant lob which seemed to owe more to him appearing to fall over than real intent. Our defending was very sloppy for their goal, allowing Daly to run free at a corner, and for the rest of the half they were probably the better side. 2nd half they did very little and Penis gifted us a 2nd which even Clark couldn't miss. No real absolute standouts but then no failures either. Thought Hughes had one of his better games in midfield, Vernon worked hard and really should have scored in a great counter attack at 2-1. Consi went off but looked to be fairly minor and if Cadger hadn't been on the bench and a semi final coming up I'm sure he would have run it off. All in all a good match (shame so few folk turned up to watch it) and great result going into the Semi Final. Also I wonder the last time 3 local loons scored for the Dandies? I'd think Mackie has probably done enough to get a start on Saturday and imagine the only change will be Arnie in for a cup-tied Rae.

But what could the clubs do if there is a CVA and no prima facie evidence exists of double contracts? Despite what we might wish for, I think it is nothing. Obviously if the club is liquidated and/or they are found guilty of illegally registering players then absolutely we must see a proper and proportionate punishment. We're not there at the moment.
