  1. Reading the rangers tax case blog and the scots law blog I don't see that this will be sorted anytime soon. This will drag on for possibly years which will significantly stifle rangers. The two main issues aren't even near to being concluded, namely 1)The Big Tax Case, if this goes against Rangers, as the Scots Law blog said, there is no way they will exist in their current form and will go into liquidation. What happens then is up for discussion but at best (for them) it will be back into an SPL with significantly altered rules and voting structure and with points deduction or other penalties for a number of years (they will also not be allowed to play in Europe) 2) The SPL independent enquiry into illegal payments/dual contracts. If Rangers are found guilty the SPL will have a hard job not punishing Rangers given UEFA's stance on these matters and precedent in Scottish football for fielding ineligible players. Of course if the liquidate the club the SPL would probably struggle to penalise Newco. Either way both these issues will face repeated legal challenge and until they come out the other side Rangers will suffer as badly as they have the last few months. There is plenty of enjoyment to be had from this yet.
  2. They really need a nickname do Inverness. Anyway still boring league business to get through before the exhilaration/humiliation/exasperation of the cup semi final. Still technically possible to get top 6 and hopefully crowd will get a bit of a boost from the ticket voucher idea and the fact Semi Final tickets go on sale this weekend. Anyway not done this for a couple of weeks: Overall great record at home vs ICT but their only two wins have come in the last 5 matches All Time Home Record vs ICT Played 13 Won 7 Drawn 4 Lost 2 Last 5 Home Games vs ICT 20 Aug 2011 Aberdeen 2 - 1 Inverness CT SPL 7,989 30 Apr 2011 Aberdeen 1 - 0 Inverness CT SPL 6,280 09 Nov 2010 Aberdeen 1 - 2 Inverness CT SPL 7,013 11 Apr 2009 Aberdeen 1 - 0 Inverness CT SPL 11,114 09 Aug 2008 Aberdeen 0 - 2 Inverness CT SPL 12,659 Biggest Home Win 31 Oct 2007 Aberdeen 4 - 1 Inverness CT League Cup QF 7,270 Last Draw 13 Jan 2007 Aberdeen 1 - 1 Inverness CT SPL 10,300 Biggest Crowd 29 Feb 2000 Aberdeen 1 - 0 Inverness CT Scottish Cup R4 REP 18,451 First ever Pittodrie meeting between the two, but we also had a 18,000+ crowd at the first league game at Pittodrie in December 2004 Current League Form: Aberdeen: Won 1 Drawn 4 Lost 1 For 3 Against 3 ICT: Won 0 Drawn 3 Lost 3 For 3 Against 10 Aberdeen: LOSS 0-1 Well (a) DRAW 1-1 Tims (h) DRAW 1-1 Buddies (a) DRAW 0-0 Perth Saints (h) DRAW 1-1 Hibs (a) WIN 1-0 Pars (h) ICT: DRAW 1-1 Killie (h) LOSS 0-3 Arabs (a) LOSS 1-4 Huns (h) DRAW 1-1 Pars (a) LOSS 0-1 Tims (a) DRAW 0-0 Buddies (h)
  3. Think this is just for ST just now. Sure there was a game, perhaps St Mirren, this season where ticket prices increased up to the day of the game, was about £8 cheaper to buy them in advance rather than the day

  5. Just introduced by Hearts but wonder if we shall see it at Pittodrie? From the Season Ticket Q&A on the Hearts Club Website http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/articles/20120320/bseason-tickets-qab_2257176_2685496

  7. £120 better off for the year. Yeahaaa fuck all those young, old and invalid that are losing out I'm winning....... But hang on I'm not a self obsessed, self centred tory cunt and in any case the rise in my pension payments will wipe out double of that every month
  8. I've booked my train and a hotel in Aberdeen to make sure I have a front row spot on Union St as the team parade the trophy round the town.
  9. I'm booked up for the Europa League Final
  10. Might as well try to do something to boost attendances at the next few games. Also means fans who have been going along and backing the team get priority but lets not go getting ahead of ourselves, remember last time we all started making plans for a final
  11. If I hear "Britain is open for business" as justification for the top rate cut one more time I'm going to start smashing things.
  12. Also is this top rate tax cut not just rewarding these guys for avoiding tax? Gideon: "Ah but they just moved cash around to avoid the top rate so it didn't raise anything so what is the point in having it" But will they not still do this for the new 45% rate? If some top 1% is concerned enough about avoiding the 50% rate then surely he will be equally anxious to avoid the 45% rate? On one hand: tax cut for the richest 1% On the other: tax rise for oaps, tax credit cuts, child benefit cut, fuel duty rise, benefit cuts Same old tories.
  13. Am I missing something? Top rate of tax was increased to 50% so all those rich folk paid themselves early to avoid it. Gideon then uses this as evidence to scrap it, claiming they'll pay more this way. Will they not then just hold off paying themselves a load of cash till after the rate drops again next year? Surely if the rate stayed at 50% either they don't pay themselves so much to avoid an extra 5% tax or they realise it's there to stay so pay themselves and pay HMRC a bit more. No? Also Nick Robinson has just revealed they have already written off £2-3Billion in tax avoidance due to this change are paying for it in large part by increasing tax on OAPs. Good old Tories.
  14. Not being reported elsewhere and suggestions talk of headbutts is exaggerated https://twitter.com/#!/markbenstead

  16. Great news for the semi final. Hopefully Hibs shite run continues and the pars get a bit of a bounce too. The one upside of being in the bottom six is we could relegate one these two.
  17. Apparently there is to be a singing section at Hampden, sections B5 and B6 @£15 a ticket Personally I hate the idea of a singing section at a semi final. We didn't have one at either of the two semi's in 2008 or the Lge Cup semi last year and my recollection was the whole support on their feet giving it laldy. Then we had a singing section last time out vs Celtic and I spent half the game arguing with folk telling me to sit down and shut up. But some folk seem to think we need this and have lobbied the club for it again. Personally I reckon if we need a singing section at a cup semifinal the game's a bogey.

  19. Well that is County up for sure now Falkirk 0 - 2 Morton FT Hamilton 3 - 1 Dundee FT And how about this for a score? Went 1-0. 1-3, 3-3 then finished Leeds 3 - 7 Forest
  20. Is it also a desperate hope to get somebody else to own up to something so they can then say; "och look loads of folk were at it, you're all very naughty boys aren't you?. Well we'll let you off this time but believe us when we say if we catch you doing it again there will be trouble"?
  21. That was a bit of an anticlimax. Took a well directed shot at the SFA's total lack of governance and regulation but could have been doing with emphasising the cheating and the uselessly bias Scottish Media.
