  1. So 2yrs+ of fucking about Well the race is now truly on between this and our new stadium
  2. In/oot: In Prematcher: In Millertime's car Match: Hopefully RDU Postmatcher: Back down the rd with MT prediction: long may our run continue - draw
  3. Well that was a fucking short race Now needing to get a win or two against celtic, motherwell or united and must win at Tyncastle
  4. Yet again could have, should have, would have. Quite why we put Fallon on is a mystery given he has offered nothing in any game he has played, and it's no coincidence we lost our way when he came on. More baffling is why he persisted with the one paced Fyvie on the wing given his complete inability to cross a ball or beat a man. With Meginnson knackered surely a double change of Pawlett and Ucechi/Chalali for the last 10-15mins would have been a better idea. Why the fuck did we sign these guys if we are going to persist with square pegs in round holes and lumps of wood like Fallon. Having said that much improved entertainment level on recent games, some end to end stuff and amazingly some goals. A bit more luck or finishing ability and we would have won. Great goal by Vernon and impressed with Rae. Sadly the main negative is our negative manager. The last 3 draws and his attitude in them have cost us a top 6 place and right to fight for a Euro place from the league. Having ensured we wouldn't be involved in the relegation battle he had the luxury of trying to win these games, instead he tried not to lose. We have the genesis of a half decent side here but Broon needs to have the confidence to allow them to have a go otherwise we'll be in the same situation this time next year. For now it's all about the cup cause there is fuck all else to play for.
  5. What you want some stats? Well, ok then: 10 Year Record vs St Mirren in Paisley Fairly even recent record which hides the fact that St Mirren have won 4 of the last 5 league games against Aberdeen in Paisley, with the only recent draw coming thanks to a last minute equaliser from McArdle in the cup Played 11 Won 4 Drawn 3 Lost 4 For 11 Against 10 Last Dons Win 8th May 2010 Biggest Away Win vs St Mirren 10 Nov 1990 St. Mirren 0 - 4 Aberdeen Premier Division 7,638 08 Oct 1977 St. Mirren 0 - 4 Aberdeen Premier Division 12,919 08 Nov 1958 St. Mirren 1 - 5 Aberdeen Div 1 (Old) 7,000 16 Oct 1954 St. Mirren 0 - 4 Aberdeen Div 1 (Old) 15,000 Biggest Away Defeat vs St Mirren 26 Dec 1964 St. Mirren 4 - 0 Aberdeen Div 1 (Old) 4,500 24 Dec 1949 St. Mirren 4 - 0 Aberdeen Div 1 (Old) 7,000 Highest scoring away game vs St Mirren 09 Apr 1927 St. Mirren 6 - 3 Aberdeen Div 1 (Old) 6,000 Last 5 v Saints, home and away: 10 Dec 2011 Aberdeen 2 - 2 St. Mirren SPL 9,452 30 Jul 2011 St. Mirren 1 - 0 Aberdeen SPL 5,011 10 May 2011 Aberdeen 0 - 1 St. Mirren SPL 5,955 06 Apr 2011 St. Mirren 3 - 2 Aberdeen SPL 3,489 16 Mar 2011 Aberdeen 2 - 1 St. Mirren Scottish Cup QF REP 7,330 Current Form (SPL) Don't look here for excitment, 7 draws, 6 of them 0-0 in the last 12 games played by these two sides!!! 6. good to hear, they have had a couple of defeats recently so nice to see a win against hmrc.fc. Wonder if brron will give any more of them a chance in the first team after the split given our epidemic of hamstring injuries.
  7. ....ah of course the first game was abandoned when the flood lights went on fire, what price last night?
  8. Does he just buy these strikers to sit on the bench and to get the crowd going when they warm up?
  9. Sounds like some game, 4-3 well win. They have a bit of a record of high scoring games at Fir Park don't they? 7 goals in one game? You have to go back 6 games or 8 leagues games to have seen that many goals at games involving afc
  10. I thought someone else might to test their powers of predicting the future too
  11. My non-scentific guesstimation has the table as follows before the split 4th Hearts 48 5th St J 44 5th United 44 ---------------------- 7th Dons 41 8th Killie 40 9th St Mirren 34 although does contain an unnatural number of draws and rangers wins
  12. Thought this perhaps should have it's own thread: Position Team Played GD Points 4 Hearts 27 5 36 5 St Johnstone 26 1 36 6 Dundee Utd 27 3 34 7 Kilmarnock 27 -10 32 8 Aberdeen 27 -3 31 9 St Mirren 27 -11 29 Games till Split Hearts United (h) Rangers (a) Hibs (h) St J (a) Aberdeen (h) Pars (a) St Johnstone Pars (h) Killie (a) St Mirren (a) Hearts (h) ICT (a) Celtic (a) ICT (h) United Hearts (a) ICT (h) Huns (h) Hibs (a) Pars (h) Dons (a) Killie Hibs (h) St J (h) ICT (a) Well (h) St Mirren (a) Tims (h) Aberdeen St Mirren (a) Tims (h) Well (a) ICT (h) Hearts (a) United (h) St Mirren Dons (h) Hibs (a) St J (h) Pars (a) Killie (h) Huns (a)
  13. Usual fun filled stats to follow later but as a wee teaser how about this as a (dis)incentive to head down from Aberdeen for a 12noon KO.......fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately a 15min train journey is close enough to ensure I'll be there: The last 10 SPL games involving either team: Aberdeen 0-0 St Johnstone Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen Aberdeen 1-0 Dunfermline Rangers 1-1 Aberdeen Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock Dundee Utd 0-0 St Mirren St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell Inverness CT 0-0 St Mirren St Mirren 0-2 Celtic Hearts 5-2 St Mirren 6/10 have been 0-0. Of the remaining 4 only 1 game has had more than 2 goals. Aberdeen and St-Mirren have scored 2 goals each over the course of each teams last 5 games, (0.4 goals/game) St Mirren have gone 431 mins without a goal. Aberdeen have gone 246 mins without a goal.
  14. That was the frustrating thing last weekend, where we actually created some chances in the last 10mins. As I just posted in the Today's Fitba thread, it is so close in the middle of the table. 0-0s will kill us however and with celtic, 'well, hearts and united all coming up in the next few weeks we MUST win on Sat to have any hope of top6 (having said that I could see us boring our way to an unbeaten run till the split at this rate, finishing 8th)
  15. yikes it's a hell of a close in the midtable. Could see anyone of a number of sides getting top 6 including us, although we seem to be more likely to go on an unbeaten run till the end of the season while scoring half a dozen goals and finishing 8th Position Team Played GD Points 4 Hearts 27 5 36 5 St Johnstone 26 1 36 6 Dundee Utd 27 3 34 7 Kilmarnock 27 -10 32 8 Aberdeen 27 -3 31 9 St Mirren 27 -11 29 10 Inverness CT 26 -11 27
  16. a more pertinent question maybe why he didn't play PP before he was injured other than for 15mins at the end of games
  17. I think not: http://local.stv.tv/aberdeen/news/298155-national-front-seek-permission-to-march-on-hitlers-birthday/
  18. Well done afc edit: and it is a Ticket game:
  19. 5th could well be Europe, worst case scenario 4th place is Europe and we are just 5pt off that. To have a chance of that we need to be in the top6, and indeed by the looks of things it will be a close thing for Europe whoever gets top 6, so yes top6 is important. All these 0-0 draws will/have killed us, must win on Saturday.
  20. Huge game today. Win will set us up nicely, anything less and we're keeping our fingers crossed for a cup run to the final.
