  1. I've cancelled it. I'm sure the international one is worth it for the games, but £80 for a few interviews and a commentary team unaware that people are listening to audio only is £80 I could be putting towards the Donstalk Europa League charter train.
  2. Well it appears one foreign journalist said deal was close, Aberdeen say no contact, so looks like there's nothing in it. I'd like Ramadani to stay on the basis of keeping some sort of settled squad, ie we don't want too many changes in one summer. But if we got offered a seven figure sum for him then I'd take it, 100%.
  3. Just from reading the thread.
  4. Wait a minute, are we getting £2m for Ramadani? What a summer we're having.
  5. Bit early to be getting carried away. Need to win the semi-final first.
  6. A few months ago they were talking on there about how Hearts had never been in better shape. Everything was amazing. They had a thread dedicated to discussing how to extend the stadium to 25,000, or even 30,000, due to the growth of the club since consecutive third place finishes would earn them so much coin that they would develop a gap that Aberdeen and Hibs would never be able to bridge. This is a club that have won three cups in 60 years. Every season they find the notion that Aberdeen could finish above them as laughable, despite the fact I think we've done it 10 times in the last 11 years. You'd think they'd have learned by now.
  7. This is appalling. Shinnie for me is number 6. Number 4 should be reserved for when the Taoiseach Liam Scales returns. May as well send him back to Wigan. Aye. I would love him to come back and be a player. It was a nonsense to give him the captaincy. But, as Rico says, I just don't think he has the ability. We can't be putting him up against Dybala in the Europa League.
  8. For U.K. viewers it's now over £80. Not entirely sure what I'm getting for that. A few interviews and sometimes I'll use it for the audio comms, but the commentary team seem unaware anyone is listening in as the long periods of silence do nothing to tell us what's actually happening. I suppose it is still only £6-7 a month so I'll probably moan about cancelling then forget to and end up signed up for another year.
  9. He said player singular. Getting us all excited over nothing Manc! Smart money suggests it's Graeme Shinnie, which is terrific cos without Declan Rice I can't see West Ham being able to handle our midfield next season.
  10. A lovely guy, and an very underrated boss. When he was Aberdeen manager and I was still at university, I managed to wrangle a one on one interview with him at Pittodrie. Thought I'd get 10 mins with him and some short answers. I was there for about four hours, with him insisting I went for lunch with him first. He was cheeky and smart enough to test me and see if I'd go spilling things I shouldn't, so fed me nonsense about Aberdeen having confirmed a pre-season tour in Russia to see if it made the papers, which of course I ate up (but thankfully didn't publish). Last met him five years ago on the 20th anniversary of Scotland v Brazil. I could have sat all day and listened to his stories. Like someone said today, "I hope he's written a book and it gets released now, because it'll be brilliant." As Aberdeen manager he had a horrible job to do; take over a shambles of a team and try turn the ship around. Got us to (I think, from memory) three semi-finals with a bang average squad. Put in place the building blocks for McInnes to go on and win the cup. RIP to an absolute gentlemen.
  11. He was recently on holiday with Leighton Clarkson, Shayden Morris and Jayden Richardson. Shay and Jay get a lot of stick, but they might be worth keeping around if they're going to be so helpful with our summer recruitment.
  12. Would that potentially be Calvin Ramsay's Preston debut?
  13. Well that has nothing to do with the discussion - how we felt when he first signed. There's many reasons he left. Not sure him thinking Scottish football was too hard was one of them as generally he was very good.
  14. I do remember being excited at Kiriakov signing cos he was playing for Bulgaria at Euro 96. Craig Hignett too. Paul Hartley felt like a big signing at the time. Scott Brown had an intriguing element.
  15. I don't get why you're angry at season tickets holders not turning up. Apart from the Hibs game, no other game at Pittodrie was sold out this season.
  16. Hearts have a ticket exchange system, where season ticket holders make their seat available - they get some of the money, the club get some of the money. Hearts' issue though is that very few people use it. I think maybe 500 tickets are made available through it but only a small percentage get bought - maybe because they're single seats or whatever, I don't know. It's basically what Cormack thinks will be the answer should his dream of a 16,000 capacity stadium be realised.
  17. I got excited and put together a wee showreel to let the rest of Europe know what they're missing out on.
  18. Leighton Clarkson! It appears to be happening.
  19. I haven't bought a season ticket, does that make me a better fan than those who have? If so then I'm in total agreement with this thread and shame on the rest of you. And if Seabass and I don't get tickets for Roma at home then we riot.
  20. This is the non-Aberdeen sub forum, no? Kinda fair game. Plus that's an Aberdeen legend you're talking about. Up there with Lee Richardson...
  21. If Rodgers takes the job, I wonder if Scott Brown will go back there as assistant. Has been his mentor the last few years. Was Rodgers who urged him to leave Celtic for Aberdeen, and Brown said in a recent interview he leans on him a lot for advice at Fleetwood. He may not want to give up being a manager in his own right, but the chance to go work with Rodgers and learn from him, while there's simply no comparison between Celtic and Fleetwood, might be enough to sway him.
  22. It was a positive post giving you all hope for the future. Ramadani would only misplace a pass and ruin it all.
  23. Joe Lewis is definitely leaving, that was obvious by the way he said goodbye to the fans at the end of the St Mirren and Celtic games. Was talk of him linking up with McInnes again in January at Kilmarnock, but Roos' injury scuppered that.
  24. According to Scott Burns, everything has been agreed with club and player for Ester Sokler and Aberdeen are now waiting on a work permit. So looks like he is the replacement for Marley Watkins, to come in and push Miovski and Duk. Tonio Teklic and Jay Idzes also being chased. Idzes is right footed but has generally played LCB. He's actually a converted midfielder so every chance we play him there too. Teklic is a right winger but from what I watched of him looks handy defensively too, so may be an attacking RWB option. Devlin already signed. Hopefully Clarkson and Shinnie on permanent deals soon. If we're persisting with three at the back, then potentially this is how we're looking. Think we still need better than Ramadani. He has his place in the squad - especially with a minimum of eight European games - but as a first pick we need better. Would love to think Connor Barron might kick on this season. Hayes is still useful and again will play his fair share of games, as will Jack Mackenzie, but a better LWB option is needed. Plus at least another right sided defender with Stewart likely to leave (Will Fish?). Would like to see Liam Scales and Mattie Pollock return but expect both to start their pre-seasons with their clubs, with any decision being made on whether they can leave or not made after we've already started the season. Huge assumptions made on Shinnie and Clarkson coming back. If one or both doesn't, I fear for us because players like that are not easy to find.
