It was harsh, it looked like Dunne has put his arm up to block him and McCrorie was putting his up to shove it out of the way and caught Dunne with his elbow. But, bit of naivety from McCrorie. A more experienced player would have ran into the arm and won a foul outside the box. McCrorie gets himself sent off. It never rains but it pours eh?

3-4-2-1 according to the team-sheet. Not delighted at that considering it means McCrorie in a back three, although once Scales is back it could mean McCrorie at RWB.
-
Shinnie back as captain No Mackenzie in squad, Coulson on bench. So could be Hayes (or Shinnie) at LB, or a three at the back with Kennedy & Hayes as wing backs. Edit: Just noticed no place for the new Ajax goalkeeper. Perhaps still an immigration registration issue there.

Apology accepted.

You agreed with dropping Clarkson a few days ago min. Just think we may as well see what the new boy has to offer, plus Clarkson been off it past few games.

I did forget someone. Poor Dante Polvara.

Robson's last match as manager, the 1-1 draw with St Johnstone following Glass's sacking, was a 4-2-3-1. Mackenzie at left back, Barron sat deep alongside Brown, Kennedy played wide right with Hayes wide left. Though in the second half it formed into more of a 4-4-2. So, trying to guess how he'll line up tonight, will he go 4-2-3-1 again? He has to start both central defenders I think as Stewart gone and Scales suspended. Gorter McCrorie MacDonald Pollock Mackenzie Barron Shinnie Roberts Myslovic Hayes Duk I'd be happy with that. Markanday doesn't appear to have played a lot of football. Neither has Roberts mind you, but I maybe wouldn't start too many new signings at once.

So squad is GK: Gorter, Lewis, Ritchie, Roos RB: Richardson, McCrorie CB: MacDonald, Pollock, Scales LB: Coulson, Mackenzie, Scales (potentially) CM: Shinnie, Ramadani, Barron, McCrorie (potentially) AM: Clarkson, Myslovic Wingers/wide players: Roberts, Duncan, Hayes, Watkins, Morris, Markanday, Kennedy Forwards: Duk, Miovski, Bavidge Dunno if I'm missing anyone. Issue with that is the abundance of right sided players (although should maybe discount Morris as he's unlikely to feature much). Roberts/Markanday both right sided. Both centre halves signed appear to be able to play both LCB and RCB.

Watkins staying, Anthony Stewart going. What a great transfer window.

No, Angus MacDonald. How dare you suggest I might be incorrect about something. That's a banning offence surely?

On 22 December 2022, following criticism of the national team's defensive tactics and style of play under Michniewicz by the media,[21] a turmoil regarding bonuses for national team players and staff,[22] Michniewicz blocking several journalists on Twitter before deleting his account,[23] and reportedly shouldering part of the blame for the media fallout on team manager Jakub Kwiatkowski,[24] it was announced Michniewicz's contract would not be extended and he was to leave his post on 31 December 2022.[25] Sounds like he takes criticism well. He'll love it here.

Told the Swindon fans to fuck off. He'll love it here.

Angus MacDonald, an English guy with the most Scottish name of all time, joins. Defender. Might be getting him mixed up with someone else but is he not a cancer survivor? I seem to remember his name from a few years ago.

That definitely is a made up statistic. It really isn't though is it? Tactics have changed, training methods, the way the players eat, the whole coaching structure, analysis, director of footballs, but to mention the rules have changed significantly. From what I heard from Celtic, Lennon method's were very limited, especially compared to Brendan Rodgers before him. Likewise, tactically he didn't have much going for him. Yeh Celtic with by far the strongest squad won a lot - when they had a challenge he struggled. How many of those did he win away from Celtic? Trophies won as a player:- Joe Miller: 5 Roberto Baggio: 4 But you're pitching Neil Lennon, whose first managerial job was Celtic.

Some whispers that if Dundee United manage to sell Tony Watt this evening, that Marley Watkins will be making the move to Tannadice. Shame, a player I like a lot. By all accounts is on fire in training. Has had fitness issues in the past but that doesn't appear to have been a problem this season. With Ramirez gone it would now leave us a bit light up front, tho guess it nudges Bavidge up the ladder a bit. Edit: Unless, of course, a striker is signing today. Atlanta to sign Giakoumakis then loan him to us would be acceptable. They owe us one.

That would be a u-turn from the club as Lewis asked to leave weeks ago and that wish was set to be granted before Roos got injured. Allegedly...
-
Ajax have just extended Gorter's contract from 2025 to 2026 before sending him out on loan. Obviously rate the fella highly.
-
Lewis on his way out presumably - considering Tom Ritchie has been recalled from his loan at Peterhead and Gorter isn't coming all the way from Ajax to sit on the bench.
-
Well firstly, you want Neil Lennon to get the job, whose last four jobs have all ended acrimoniously, and is totally unsuited for a job at Aberdeen on account he takes no interest in youth players coming through, his coaching and tactics are poor (I'd go as far as to say the game has moved on from when he first started and he's actually a bit of a dinosaur in that respect), and he managed to run a very good Brendan Rodgers team into the ground. Hibs were also eighth when he left them. So, not sure you're well placed to give it a "I mean, really?". Secondly, is Robson a "total novice"? He's been coaching for years, knows the club inside out, will have watched every game and formed his own opinion on players and tactics, and was a leader as a player so shouldn't have a problem commanding respect in the dressing room. He absolutely deserves a dozen or so games to see what he can do.

Does anyone here follow Serie A? Might not have the stars of the 90s but for me it's still the most exciting of the top leagues. Napoli running away with the title this year and might be the first Italian team for a while to have a real chance in the Champions League, but the battle for the top four is a cracker. Hoping Jose manages to get Roma into the Champions League, would be a game changer for them. They deserved at least a draw against Napoli on Sunday.
-
From my understanding we can rule out Neil Lennon. Chris Wilder linked by the Record. It smacks to me of a wee pay day for him before he gets a job back in England, and we'd end up spunking most of our transfer budget on his salary. Not that enthused by it to be honest. Agnew joining the coaching staff suggests Robson might actually get a few months at this to show what he can do. What is it - once they've managed 12 games it's considered permanent? Kinda interested to see how Robson does actually. Six points out of six this week before outfoxing Ange at Celtic Park, that would be a decent start. Certainly, Robson until end of March, and if it's still ropey we begin looking for someone to take over in summer, wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.

He describes himself as an old fashioned, aggressive defender (his words). He also says he's "a bit of a leader". Let's hope he plays like he talks.
-
I think he'll have to as Scales will be suspended. Interestingly, even though he's right footed, he appears to have been playing mostly LCB. Now that might be a David Bates situation in that he had to to fill in, or he's genuinely comfortable there. So it could be a Stewart-Pollock partnership. Personally, would rather see Pollock-Mackenzie, get the young lad back in the team and try and develop him. Stewart is a bag of nerves just now. Would drop Ramadani too. Works hard but ball distribution has been a big factor in many of the recent results. Lewis (or new GK if signed) McCrorie Pollock Mackenzie Coulson Barron Shinnie Roberts Myslovic Hayes Duk

Lewis was on his way out before Roos got injured apparently. Was set for a reunion with McInnes.

Alex Miller was a boring manager and was shit. An attack minded or a possession based manager can still fix a defence. Goodwin was seen as pragmatic, it was one of the reasons he was appointed on account he would make us solid, and he failed spectacularly.
