  1. Our meetings with AFC have continued and we’ve been able to get positive responses on a number of issues, including catering issues, that members have raised to us. The minutes of the most recent meeting is now on our website: http://www.donssupporterstogether.com/category/news/ We are still looking to grow our membership as much as possible as AFC has recognised that with c1400 members and c4000 followers on Facebook and Twitter, that our voice on behalf of members/fans is getting stronger, but clearly we can still do more, and get stronger. Whilst the situation is different, fortunately, the example of the new fans’ groups at Dunfermline and Hearts, in raising fan participation, and importance, in affecting club matters, shows the value of a bigger supporters’ voice. In Hearts’ case, their foundation membership has grown from 47 to c7500. It would be great if AFC’s fan representation was as strong. Don’t worry, we are not trying to get cash out of you as membership remains FREE, albeit donations are always welcome and whilst our aims and objectives remain unchanged (see website) we would like to up the ante on raising funds for Simmy’s Youth Development programme, to keep the conveyer belt of young talent as strong as it has been of late. So, whilst visiting the website to read the minutes, if you're not already a member, why not click the membership button and join up... Remember, it's free to join!
  2. Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the Nostalgia night arranged for Friday 23rd August as we have encountered a couple of significant logistical problems and, rather than trying to muddle through, we have decided it would be best to postpone the event for the meantime. Whilst the tickets sold would have been ok to use on the re-arranged date, we have refunded all ticket monies received to keep things as clean as possible and apologise to everyone concerned for any inconvenience caused. As the purpose is to have a great night watching AFC thrash the "OF as was" and others, and, specifically to raise funds for the AFC Youth Development programme, we still hope to hold the event in the future. If the issues can be overcome, we are hopeful of re-arranging it for October, but this may ambitious. However, it may be hard to find an available date at that time and so, we would appreciate your thoughts as to: would you be likely to attend such an event; how many attendees should realistically be possible for such an event; when would be the best time to hold such an event e.g. February as that tends to be a quiet period etc etc?
  3. Dons Supporters Together have organised a "Dons Nostalgia Night" at Pittodrie on Friday 23rd August 2013 at 7.30pm - see link below: Video footage of many of the Dons highlights from the 70's & 80's will be shown, in addition to a buffet, quiz, raffle and appearances from ex Dons players Willie Miller, Neil Simpson (& others tbc) from this era. All proceeds from the evening will go to the Dons Youth Development fund. So, please "spread the word" to fellow Dons fans you may know, and come along and re-live this "Golden Era" for AFC and help raise money to hopefully gain some new “Glory Days” in the future!! http://www.donssupporterstogether.com/nostalgia-night/
