I had a old fence post that was made out of some hardwood. I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I just went with the flow and made a small box from it. All hand done. A bit rough at parts, but not too bad.

It's the wife and my 25th wedding anniversary next month. Just to get away for a few days we are taking a wee trip north of here, a place called Cape Hillsborough. It's only 45 mins away from where I live, but it's a spectacular place. We've booked one of the beach cabins for 4 days. On sunrise you can go and feed the roo's out on the beach and there are a few nice trails around. It's a national park so it's very quiet.

The Canadian was asked to remember that there were ladies around. He was being less than a gentleman in many ways I had enough of him, told him to get outside the pub, which he did. A few punches were thrown. Canadian apologised to said ladies (my wife and my mum) The following day, he could not play the bagpipes in the contest he had traveled to Skye to play in as he had a broken nose. This was in 1997 on my first trip back home from moving here. In 1999 on my second trip back home, we went back to Portree. My dad had gone out for a walk in the morning. I was still back in the hotel having my breakfast. I was just tucking into my toast when I heard huge bang from outside. Dad had been out to buy the paper and was walking back to the hotel. He walked past a manhole and would have been 2 to 3 metres past it when there was a explosion. Seconds later the manhole cover landed a few feet from dad. We were told that there had been a gas leak and it had been sparked somehow.

I had a fight with an Canadian bagpipe player in Portree. And my dad was nearly killed by a flying manhole cover there as well. I really love Skye.

I've been watching Hayes through the match. Just before half time he was fucked. He was trying to stop a cross into the box, which he failed to do. Looked like he was breathing out his arse. He's not moving freely as well.

Aye, Carpet Snakes are pythons. The "bad" snakes like the Taipan and Brown Snake are highly venomous ( Snakes are venomous, not poisonous ?) and you get a few of them around here as well. Only 5 mins away from me someones dog was killed by a Taipan. For the first 8 years that I lived here I worked in the sugar cane fields. I saw a lot of the "bad" snakes there. As a young Scottish laddie just off the plane it was a bit of a shock...

Aye. He was a master Sergent in the US Airforce. Story goes that when he left the Airforce he said he had enough of shouting and that's why he talks in that calm voice. He only lived until he was 53. Cancer got him. ? His life story is worth a look at.

Do you have a phobia? I fucking hate snakes. I've been here 25 years and will never lose that fear I have for them. Last week I heard a bunch of birds going off outside. I went out for a look and saw a large Carpet Snake on my roof. The birds were swooping at the snake, which was rightfully trying to get away from them. Only thing was that the fucking thing got into my roof... I've not seen it since then, but everytime I go outside I look like I'm having a fit as I try to get as far away as I can from any hiding places. Last year I had another Carpet Snake in my garage... It took me weeks to go out the back garden.

I've been watching The Joy Of Painting with Bob Ross. It's on for half an hour on the telly each day and It's a must for me. Not that I want to learn how to paint, I just like the chilled nature of Bob.

This is a shame to hear. It seems to be the way of the world now. I used to look forward to pay day so I could go out and get my NME, Melody Maker and Sounds. Select was another great mag from the 90's that finished up. I also remember when Q first started. I bought it for a while, but It kind of went away from the music that I like. I'm more a Uncut or Classic Rock reader now.
