  1. but how dare you forget it Mentor!!!
  2. thought it was a poor game in general.
  3. Yeah. Although Tyldesley's "Carrick just didn't see Toure" was a lot of shite. He was facing that direction and if Carrick can not see the 6'3" Ivorian then he has more problems than just his wayward passing, I would suggest...
  4. Finished 1-0 with the Ginger Ninja sent off. City deserved that, pretty good game.
  5. Aye, Gregg Watson was hailed as "the new Willie Miller". And i suppose he was, in the same way I'm the new Rudolf Nureyev...
  6. He did have a horrendous run of broken legs though, in fairness. Did he not score for us in the league match at parkhead the midweek before the final? We fielded a weakened side, they didn't as they still had to qualify for Europe and we pumped them 3-1? Think Jess got the other 2.
  7. cheers, it's actually for a girl in work who is going to it tomorrow. The old ones are indeed the best!
  8. anyone got any tips for the Scottish Grand National?
  9. We were down at Vicky Park, there were other teams training there and he was just kind of doddering about. Think his lad may play for one of the teams. It was the first time I've seen him outside the walls of a bookies in a long time.
  10. He was at Red Stars training last night... he better not be earmarked to replace me! Don't think I could handle the indignity of that.
  11. Nicholas's effort was about 10-15 minutes in I think, seem to remember that Bonner had dropped a cross and Nicholas spun and had a shot but Elliott cleared it off the line. That game also saw Mike Galloway come off the bench and make a thigh high challenge on Robertson when the ball was on the deck. He'd have got a straight red and a 100 game ban for it these days... think he just got a stern talking to from whatever fuckwit was in black that day. Probably George Smith, he had a particular loathing for us.
  12. Likewise. I will never, ever forget the bounce when Theo saved Rogan's penalty and then when Irvine scored. Celtic probably had most of the ball but we had the best chances - Nicholas had one cleared off the line early on and Gillhaus had a header into the side netting and that was it really. Grant saved us though in the last minute, ran the length of park near enough to stop Joe Miller scoring after he skinned McLeish.
  13. Not at all... I was on the terracing that day...
  14. Yaaas!! McKimmie and his Gola Specials!
  15. you'll be hard pushed to find one down here that's selling booze earlier than 12.30 on Sunday. The Iron Horse or The Lee would probably be your best shout.
  16. Looks like Hartley will be playing on Sunday, according to the EE anyway.
  17. nope, it's a country wide law.
  18. They only sing about him against us, so that we sing about Simmie and then they claim we were actually singing about the Ibrox Disaster...
  19. That'll be a quick pint... pubs aren't allowed to open til 12.30pm on Sundays
  20. Certainly was Al. That team picked itself in those days eh? Was the same team most weeks. We absolutely pumped them that day, the two o.gs they scored were the only attempts United had on goal I reckon. Gillhaus ripped Narey and van der Hoorn to pieces for his goal. Made it look so simple.
  21. 21 years ago today: Scottish Cup Semi Final (Tynecastle Park) Dundee United 0 Aberdeen 4 (Irvine, Paatelainen o.g., Gillhaus, van der Hoorn o.g.) Aberdeen: Snelders, McKimmie, Robertson, Grant, McLeish, Irvine, Nicholas, Bett, Mason, Connor, Gillhaus. More of the same on Sunday please lads!!
  22. Good post. I think excitement is entirely the wrong word from my point of view. The whole story has predcitably dragged on far longer than was necessary and it got boring some time ago. I gave it a 6 because it is a critical move for the club, if things are done properly it will be a major plus for us, but there is also the capacity for it to bring us done further if it's not done properly as you say.
  23. 6 for me. Are we supposed to be excited about the new stadium? It's more of an issue to get a team on the park which causes excitement... if they get that i don't care where they play.
  24. I didn't notice it to be honest, I was concentrating more on the comically shite defending.
  25. I saw the goal last night on SSN, and you're right about Diamond. He is embarrassingly soft for a big lad. Hooper will be looking forward to another afternoon of bullying this waste of space around Hampden.
