  1. Should have said "aye, well extremely hard feelings over McMaster, Snelders and Leighton."
  2. I get where you're coming from, and a lot of it at the time was just another stick to beat Mark McGhee with for some... you'd have thought Foster was the bastard child of Paul Breitner and Paolo Maldini, when the reality is that we just needed anyone at all who could play full back to a barely acceptable level; which is exactly what Foster provided, sometimes it was a bit more than that and sometimes a bit less but over the course of a season he was certainly a better option than sticking Considine or McArdle at left back and right back. If we are going to improve though, we require a better standard of player than Ricky Foster.
  3. It could be a slow burner...
  4. Doesn't actually say he's going to be handed the captaincy other than in the headline, so not convinced this will be happening. Would like to see it go to Milsom, would be an indication of how highly he's thought of and hopefully that'd go some way to helping him sign a new contract with us.
  5. I'm really not arsed if he comes back or otherwise. If he does come back, he'll get my support. He can be a good player for us, consistency isn't one of his strong points though. But if he left, I really wouldn't be bothered.
  6. the same value as Zander Diamond...
  7. watched this, this evening. I'm obviously horrendously biased but thought it concentrated more on United which, considering there have only been 3 teams from Scotland to win Euro trophies, is a bit crazy; it almost done us down. Good contributions by most I thought apart from Chick Young... "You knew Aberdeen were a really good side.. but .... WOOF! Where did Dundee United come from?" The clue's in the name, Chick.... Liked Hamish McAlpine's comment about "maurice Backpass"... how accurate. And aye, Richard Gough's still a cunt.
  8. Wonderful. I still have and wear the socks from that kit.
  9. We would have beaten Man Utd, Al. That Juve team would have been the one with Platini, Rossi and Boniek eh? Think we would have beaten them? Thanks for the link Kow
  10. Disapponted I missed this. Presume it'll be on STV's site though. I take it Richard Gough is still a cunt?
  11. I did say to him that it's probably just an investment etc. But this guy hasn't missed any huns game home or abroad for 15 years so thinks he's the oracle of all things hun. He has hair like a lego man, though.
  12. He's supposedly bought a house in Glasgow. Not sure of how accurate that is though, came from a hun work colleague.
  13. A midfield of the above "maestro", Neale Berry, Dave McCreery and John Millar just screams out "Total Football" doesn't it? Doesn't it...? oh.
  14. I wouldn't be happy with Narey, Heggarty and McAlpine on our walls when United came to play either, it'd just inspire the Jutes to keep passing the ball back to their keeper... Wouldn't be happy either when Hearts came to play and we put up visions of legends such as .... eh.... .... .... ?
  15. Chris Clark was in one of the papers at the weekend saying much the same thing (not specifically about Maguire though). Not that Maguire or his agent will listen to common sense when there is a buck to be made.
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/blackburn-rovers/8396748/Blackburn-Rovers-dealings-with-influential-agent-Jerome-Anderson-comes-under-scrutiny.html
  17. I seem to remember it being spoken about just before he left us in rather sad circumstances, so I think they were going to give him his testimonial. The fact Jim Leighton's testimonial year was the season before Jess left may have had something to do with him not getting one at that point.
  18. Guardiola has said he wants to work with Fergie before he retires and is willing to go there as his assistant supposedly. This in itself obviously doesn't mean much - who wouldn't want to work with Fergie afterall, however, one thing that is definitely true is that whoever it is will be expected to introduce players to teh first team squad from the youth academy. Mourinho is a cheque book manager and doesn't have a fantastic track record of bringing through youngsters. Guardiola is the exact opposite of that and I think that's why United will go for him. Fergie is said to be the one having the biggest say in his successor, and I just can't see him going for someone who will not bring through homegrown players. Might be totally wrong, but I think it's shaping up to be Guardiola as he'll move on from Barca at some point and United would be a good fit for him. Also, guys like Lippi, Hitzfeld who were linked with the job years ago are probably too old themselves to take it now. Doesn't leave a fantastic number of candidates, probably only Guardiola and Mourinho... maybe Laurent Blanc as an outside bet. But my money is on Guardiola.
  19. Show me where i said it was a good thing.
  20. I have no issue with Aberdeen players supporting sides they had grown up supporting.. i.e. "i support Celtic" "I support Dundee" etc... however, there are limits. I don't think it's right that these guys head to Hampden kitted up going to actively support Celtic when they still have a job to do for Aberdeen at the same venue against the very same team. However if they sat in their house with a few beers wanting Celtic to win i can accept that. All amounts to the same thing I admit, but it's not kicking the fans in the nuts at the same time, is it?
  21. So the guys we are talking about, you both agree with and are also sickened by? I have no issue with anyone supporting their team but there was no need for this shit today. Maybe you think otherwise however.
