  1. Second time I've seen Hearts recently and for the second time I thought they were shite. Don't think we had a poor performer today out of all 14 lads who played. On another day (or another pitch) we'd have taken the three points. If we play like that from now on in we'll win a lot of points.
  2. We've played some nice stuff. Really good interchange between our front players and our midfield.
  3. Obviously my feelings on Irvine are well documented here; he wasn't a good player. A lot of Dons fans (particularly the away crowd at the time) I would say had reservations about him but Irvine had a lot of goodwill in the bank - he had scored the winning pen in the 1990 Cup Final and everyone appreciated taking over the no.6 shirt was a near thankless task. He was rash and ungainly but even I can appreciate he had his moments and played with all his heart for the Dons which can only ever be a good thing.
  4. Two changes to midweek line-up... Diamond out with a knock and Considine replaces him, Hartley in for Young.
  5. I would say that Brian Grant was very well liked by Dons fans, in fact in a midfield of Connor, Bett and Grant, Granty didn't get anywhere near the stick the other two got and I think there was a high level of admiration for him from our support. He is certainly in my top 5 favourite Dons of all time, and know a lot of my mates hold him in equally high regard. I appreciate the point you're making, but there is no way I'd ever put Grant in with those other players.

  7. Good god. Vermin, absolute vermin.
  8. Winnie and Prunty for me. Ian Robertson was fucking woeful too. To think he can claim to have played in the same defence as Leighton/Snelders, McLeish, Miller and McKimmie...
  9. Read that earlier, disappointed there was no mention of Hertz bottling the double in 86.
  10. Brian O'Neil.
  11. A brutal defence, yes, but they haven't been helped by his total inability to come off his line and command his area. He has looked a bit more "with it" since the return of Leighton. I saw Langfield saying he was pleased to have him back even though it meant he had to go back to wearing black boots... the reason Leighton told him not to wear white boots was that it makes it easier for strikers to see where his feet are and therefore can help make their minds up where to place the ball. As soon as Leighton was sacked he was back wearing the white boots... what does that say about his attitude?
  12. You don't realise just how lucky you are...
  13. He was bad but the worst you've ever seen? There have been worse Dons players in the last 10 years never mind worst of any team.
  14. Seconded. Whore of a performance, why he was in goals for an important cup game is beyond me. You could tell Leighton wasn't happy with him in the warm up. Think it may have been the first goal that night and the boy is running through on him and Bossu just stands on his line (or just about). Killie striker couldn't believe his luck.
  15. I'd just like to take this opportunity to say John Fleck is utter ding.
  16. Exactly. A keeper who bottles a semi final because someone chucks a half eaten hamburger at him isn't really good enough in my opinion.
  17. surely though we can expect CB to do the proper groundwork on this? If players are scouted properly then this shouldn't be an issue, ok every manager makes mistakes but to say we may end up with some of the clowns Hibs have had as a reason for keeping Langfield is pretty horrifying to be honest. How do we ever improve if we don't sign players just because other teams have had nightmares in recruiting for similar positions?
  18. No idea. But just because we don't know shouldn't mean we stick with what is a mediocre keeper at best. I'd never heard of Rob Milsom before he signed for us, and he's proving to be a very good player for us. It's down to CB and AK and their scouts to unearth a keeper who is an improvement on Langfield.
  19. There are a few reasons I think he should be let go and your last point is certainly one of them. He makes some very good saves, but what pro keeper doesn't? He doesn't command his area, his distribution is shite, positional sense is very suspect and doesn't move his feet quickly enough. But more pertinently, he's a loser. He's got a loser's mentality (and he's admitted as much) and once you have it there is no going back.
  20. Thanks ally. We're actually due to play a game in Edinburgh in a few weeks against a Celtic side. Why don't you try to get it together? this only came about because of a post on Ab-Mad.
  21. We've only played friendlies recently Ally due to the predictably crap weather but we're back to league business on Sunday versus one of the Dunfermline teams. We drew 4-4 on Sunday past in a friendly, we were woeful in the first half but rescued the draw with a good performance in the second. We've had a few emails in for potential new players which is good. As with any amateur side it only takes a couple of call offs from lads before we start to look a bit stretched. There are definite signs of improvement though, I've changed from a 4-4-2 to a 3-5-2 and we're looking stronger for that...mostly!!
