As I said earlier, I don't think it was a penalty but you're treading very dangerous ground by saying things like "that touch shouldn't put you down". Says who? It can only take a slight touch to knock you off balance when running at speed, how do you decide what is enough to put someone to ground? And you can't say "he's a big guy, that shouldn't be enough to make him fall", because the rules have to be the same for every player regardless of height or bulk.

Aye, he was a good player. One game I remember in particular he ripped Maurice Malpas to pieces at Pittodrie as we pumped them (4-2 I think it was, Hewitt got a couple). He also started the 85 League Cup Final for us, Fergie really rated him. Liked the good life too much though. He went to Airdrie after us, a mate of mine is an Airdrie fan and he couldn't believe we let Gray leave, he was that skillful.

Huge difference being that Rafael had control of his body throughout, and actually pulled out of it although it did look as though he thought about it. Meireles wasn't in any danger was he as Rafael's studs were always pointing at the ground? Not sure how you can say a challenge where someone has not left the ground in the manner Gerrard did is just as dangerous as Gerrard's where he came a couple of feet off the ground and flying into another player with absolutely no control over his body.
