  1. It was in the Sunday Herald at the weekend that Levein and Stark hate each other, barely speak to one another.
  2. Likewise.
  3. But he's that much of a cunt that our own fans will hate him. He's not a cunt in the sense Fergie was/is seen as by opposition fans, he's a cunt because his priorities seem to be all wrong. He wants to look good ahead of his team's welfare. Look at him on the last day of the season after Hull lost to Man Utd reserves, they'd managed to stay up despite hardly winning a game in 6 months, and he's out there with the microphone singing away about himself, essentially. That's hardly crime of the century, but do you really think our fans will take to someone like that? The same fans who had a problem with the way Jimmy Calderwood spoke and how he looked? Even if i didn't think he was a massive bellend, I just don't think his managerial record is anywhere good enough and he isn't actually that experienced despite his age. Again, they hardly won a game in 6 months. More if you include the start of his second season.
  4. It's just a rumour on Mad but i've got an uneasy feeling about it all. He'll be cheap, experienced, he'll be recommended by Brown....
  5. Rumours of Tommy McLean now...
  6. I'd say he's a bigger gamble for us than us for him. Not sure why it's only a matter of time he gets a Championship job as the clubs were hardly queuing up for him since he got the dunt at Hull. If he takes it then he's not doing it as a favour for us and if he takes it without doing his homework then he's off his head, but not as off his head as the AFC board who do their homework and still decide to offer him the position. Just because he's managed at the level he has does not mean he was any good at that level. He's made some horrendous decisions in his short managerial career, most of which showed an astounding lack of understanding of the situation; whether that was the half time team talk on the pitch (as a former player, how did he even think that was a good idea?), the "Wenger didn't shake my hand" when he actually did, he fell out with players at a drop of a hat supposedly (according to George Boateng), the whole "I saved a suicidal woman" lie... Take a look at him when he was an assistant manager, and take a look at him now. He's full of himself and more pertinently, he is a bit of a shit manager. I'm not interested in him using AFC as a vehicle for self promotion.
  7. It's not necessarily just down to ability though. It's attitude. I think the time has come for Mackie and Young to leave (some time ago really), but they are far from the biggest problems at the club and others have to be shipped out first.
  8. Edinburgh are getting the army in to sort out the paths supposedly.
  9. I'd have Diamond and Langfield out the door before him. If the two of them were apples, they'd be bad ones.
  10. Wasn't overly keen on him either but in comparison to the other names being mentioned I would have taken him if it meant we didn't get the likes of the above. I really don't think Stark is the right choice but I think we may go for him now.
  11. if it's not Brown, then surely it has to be someone in a similar mould which would rule out Stark, MacPherson, Hughes etc? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
  12. Glasgow Don pretty much summed it up, but Knox is very pally with McGhee and I would imagine MM warned him off us. It would appear Knox really isn't keen but Brown is. The Guardian have the story and already have Jim Leighton heading back to work at Pittodrie.
  13. I don't think the next man has to be high profile. He just has to be the right man. I really don't think Phil Brown is the right man. The sight of him singing on the pitch after his team had lost to Man Utd reserves on the last day of the season was confirmation of how much he thinks it's about himself and not the club he's at.
  14. Chick Young now reporting this on Radio Scotland. Odds down to 4/5 but sounds like he's got no more information than just what's been posted here and elsewhere. Says he's trying to get in touch with some people to get more info... Richard Gordon saying he's heard similar. i.e. he read Mad today as well...
  15. Is he though? I don't get why people are saying this, just because he managed in the Premiership? It may mean he has higher expectations in terms of salary and resources, it certainly doesn't mean he's the best manager (the last year of his time at Hull certainly suggests he should be one of the last considered).
  16. Agree with you, he angered me a lot, infuriated me even more but he does deserve respect because he got us back our respect. I think he means the paying up of the contracts when he was sacked.
  17. It would suit some at the SFA if he wasn't there anymore, could believe they've been leaning on some of the "journos"
  18. hope not. Knox, in my opinion, is the epitome of a No.2. In more ways than one... Would also say that I wouldn't read too much into this. I've seen Miller's car parked there on several occasions in the last 5 years (I work round the corner from Blythswood... queue inevitable jokes...). Obviously if he's seen Knox as well then it could mean something, especially as Jock Brown certainly had an office there at one point and I'd imagine he's his brother's lawyer.
  19. Seriously? there was also the rather bizarre claim that he talked a suicidal woman down off the Humber Bridge while taking his team out for an evening stroll. The strange thing being that none of his team remember this happening at all.
  20. He doesn't have the best record but it's far from the worst (a couple of those positions were caretaker roles) in comparison to some who are being offered up. Why I think he would be a good option: Being at the club would not overawe him. He can handle it and can handle the pressure. He is a fantastic coach (both Willie Miller and Charlie Nicholas said he was the best they'd worked under) Going on word of mouth, he will instill discipline, he will not take any shite from the absolute fuck nuggets in our squad Our squad will be fitter than they've been for years. When he was at the club in the 80's early 90s we didn't have fitness coaches etc, but our side were clearly one of the fittest if not the fittest in the league. I really don't think he'd have a second thought in binning the guys who need to be binned - Diamond and Langfield in particular from what I've heard. The whole attitude at Pittodrie has to change and I think he's the man to do it.
  21. Aye, that's the only reason he's being suggested...
