Huns have requested permission to speak to McInnes. Dons have refused permission.
-
Players have known since midweek that he's gone. Shinnie had a go at him before Ibrox when he changed tactics at the last minute. Atmosphere in the dressing room is supposedly shite. Another garbage effort from his team today. Even if the above is bollocks, I want him gone. This team has no direction. He's bought players on reputation and given no thought to how they actually fit together as a football team.
-
I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Our team is crying out for creativity and goals. He brought both on a consistent basis.

Rumours are certainly gathering pace. Have heard numerous, including that Docherty won't be going with him, the huns board want DM as manager with Barry Ferguson as assistant If he goes, our board will look to appoint Docherty as no.1 with Barry Robson as assistant. Also heard another rumour that we've lined up Gordon Strachan! All just on the grapevine stuff rather than from anyone connected or anything like that.

Tribute Act v Dons 29/11 & Dons v Tribute Act 03/12

Can you tell us why Maynard should get a start? He has shown nothing at all. No pace, no threat, no intelligence, no fight... nothing. Worse than a man short. Maybe Sunday will be the day it all comes together for him, but I have my reservations. -
Tribute Act v Dons 29/11 & Dons v Tribute Act 03/12

The sole out ball appeared to be Christie, which led to Christie getting kicked black and blue and offered no protection from the ref. The midfield were so deep it was very hard for them to get up and support Christie and May. A lot of the players looked lost in terms of where they should be or where their team mates should be. And it isn't the first time this season either. I wouldn't lose any sleep if McInnes was to leave. Brilliant, he beats Killie every time we play them. Unfortunately, he shits the bed every time we play the OF. -

If Maynard is the answer then we're in bigger trouble than I thought. Utterly abysmal player who should be nowhere near our squad, even on last night's showing. -

3 goals tonight came from Consi's side. I know if I was an opposition manager I'd be telling my players to get at him. He isn't a bad player, but against the better sides in the league he isnt a particularly good one, especially with no real cover in front of him. As others have said, another shitshow from the manager in Glasgow. Almost as if he was playing the huns of 20 years ago, not the garbage who plays for them now. Knew he was going to do something ridiculous with the team after the Reynolds sub on Sunday. There was no plan B without making a sub either. We were defeated before we started. -
I just assume these days that McLean is going to do fuck all and then it doesn't annoy me quite as much. He had some positive moments for us yesterday but really he just doesn't do enough for the type of player HE believes he is.

100%. Cracking player.

Glasgow bus to home game v The Vermin 3.12.17
BobbyBiscuit replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Cheers Al. Roll up, roll up folks... the good ship still has places on it, no one wants to miss out on the public hanging of one Ryan Jack... (metaphor*, just in case the Sun are snooping about). *in case the Sun are snooping around, a metaphor is a figure of speech. -
A thoroughly miserable 90 minutes from us. Completely bereft of ideas, direction and cohesion. Not sure why Stewart was dropped after playing well (one of the few) and scoring at Hamilton. After calling for Tansey to start it was really disappointing to see him put in such an abject performance. He was slow on the ball, too ponderous, the exact opposite of what we need. GMS is bringing us absolutely nothing. Had May not been dropped i think GMS would have been on the bench - DM benching both players he paid fees for probably wouldn't have looked too good for him. I feel for Christie, he has little support. I also feel for Rooney - he's getting nothing to go on at all. I think a lot of our problems are coming from playing O'Connor in the space in front of the defence - he's not a sharp enough footballer in terms of movement or passing to play that role effectively for any length of time. We missed Shinnie, obviously, but in a home match against Motherwell - a handy enough side in fairness - we shouldn't be pining for our left back. The personnel is one thing however, the management of the personnel is another altogether - it looked like the players didn't know what was expected of them, particularly in the second half. Really worrying afternoon on the back of the dire performance at Hamilton. 1 win in 4 isn't good enough.

Same as his interview after the Ross County game. By all accounts, there's been no approach and he won't resign. None of the above means he wouldn't take it, all the things being equal etc. The huns can't afford him. No shock there. They'll be in administration within 2 years time.
-
Don't go to the bookies with that. I actually think his dead balls have been decidedly average at best, but he's actually played well when given the chance.
-
If there was even a chance of that... see ya Derek!! But there isn't, unfortunately.
-
Shinnie gave him a right earful after the equaliser on Saturday... Logan backed off Templeton instead of closing him down, gave him too much of the goal to aim at.
-
It was an interview in the Scotsman from the weekend.

For those in the Glasgow area, we (Red Stars) are running a bus to the home game v the huns on 3 December. Will be leaving from North Hanover St, probably around 8am. There are seats available, and to book one please either get in touch with me here or email clubfutbolaberdeen@gmail.com. Mods - can you please keep this in the main forum for maximum exposure? Cheers!

I agree with this. It's incredible the number of Dons fans I speak to who look perplexed when i criticise Milne. I don't trust Milne to get the next decision right, which probably inflates McInnes's worth despite some obvious failings, particularly tactically.
-
We shouldn't be measuring the defence's performance on the number of goals they score, but the number they concede. The defence has been suspect all season. Logan's performance yesterday was again worrying; if you look at the chance in the first half which Templeton had at the back post, Logan was at least ten yards out of position. Laziness? Lack of communication (that seemed to be a problem in general yesterday)?
-
That was incredible. The first goal came from an episode of that in our own box. Christie had a right off day, and when that happens it's hard to see where our invention is coming from. O'Connor seemed to struggle with reading the roll of the park, was caught ahead or behind the ball a lot and generally just looked very uncomfortable. McLean had a real lack of quality when we needed him to step up. Greg Stewart and Shinnie got pass marks. Would like to see Stewart playing from a central position though - seemed to start there yesterday but then moved wide. Quite interesting watching the shooting drill the team went through in the warm up - every single one of Stewart's efforts found either the top corner or bottom corner, the only player to do so. He has the quality but we have to figure out how we can use both him and Christie to full effect. I think it's time we go back to starting Rooney up front. It's not working with May. He's not playing badly, necessarily, but we don't play to his strengths. He wants to run the channels and always looks for a quick, early pass played from midfield, but when he's wanting/expecting that ball, our midfielders tend to play it wide as if they think McGinn and Hayes are still there for us. Another disappointment for me yesterday was that we were really crying out for someone to put their foot on the ball and keep it tidy for us - Tansey should have been on, he was exactly the player we needed but we persevered with a midfield that was essentially not working - any one of Christie, McLean or O'Connor could not have complained if they were taken off but all survived the 90.
