  1. His family are still down here and have been for his time at AFC.
  2. They were great at the Barras a couple of weeks ago. Go, Night Mail and Everest the highlights. New stuff was good, good set on stage too.
  3. I'd happily take Zizou as manager when DM fucks off to the huns. He can bring his boots, too.
  4. Say it as many times as you want chief. What makes sense to us doesn't necessarily make sense - or enough sense - to McInnes, and that's the only thing that matters. Prior to the weekend i thought he wouldn't go for all the reasons you and others have listed. He may still not go. If not, brilliant.
  5. I've never - and still don't - buy this thing that he's a "Rangers man". He was a Morton fan as a boy, according to someone i know who grew up with him. Turned out sparingly for them, certainly never came across as a hun's hun. But... that doesn't mean he may not want the job should it present itself. I was convinced prior to the weekend that he wouldn't leave. I now think he'll go. And if he does, it's not the end of the world.
  6. The media down here expect him to take the job; he is on a list of one. I was of the mindset he wouldn't take it until i saw his post match interview on Sportscene on Sunday. That screamed to me that he was going, or certainly very keen on the prospect. If he goes, no point in feeling sorry for ourselves. Would give the players an even bigger incentive to finish ahead of the vermin. We have to get on with it, and get on with spanking the scum twice in 5 days would be a good way of doing that.
  7. Simon Church was utter toilet. Now mis-controlling passes and generally looking lost for Scunthorpe United. Winning trophies is where it's at for me rather than 'continental jaunts', as interesting as they are.
  8. McInnes obviously doesn't like going abroad for his players, generally. He sticks to the leagues he knows, which is obviously limiting. The signing of the likes of Gillhaus now is unthinkable for a club our size, unfortunately. A European Cup winner joining us to increase his chances of going to a world cup with Holland.
  9. World War II in Colour. Not a new series, but first I've seen of it, via Netflix. Absolutely amazing footage, very in-depth. The footage from before the war started, particularly from Africa where the Italians were and of the scenes in Spain during Franco's attempt of control were really interesting. The parallels between that time and what's happening now are too easy to make, unfortunately.
  10. Heading down south supposedly.
  11. Rooney, who scored a hat trick in the league only a few weeks ago is a spent force, but Maynard, who hasn't even come close to scoring - in fact, hasn't even looked like he may trouble the opposition - in his time here, should be given a run beside May? Rooney shouldn't have started in that role last night, but to suggest he's a spent force is just ridiculous. Play to his strengths and he will score goals for us. Play him wide and ask him to do a job like the one last night and he'll struggle. I've said before we don't play to May's strengths; he wants the early ball played into the inside channel, we don't ever look like playing that. I haven't seen the goals since the game itself, so haven't had the benefit of a replay, but surely Lewis wasn't at fault for Tierney's?? Another spineless, passive performance from the Dons, goes hand in hand with the subservient fans who not only applauded a Celtic player on to the park but also had a go at Dons fans who had the audacity to boo the same player on to the park. It never used to be like this...
  12. Which is where the Lukaku problem comes in. Always been a flat track bully. United have pretty much played no one of note this season. As soon as they play a bigger team away from home Lukaku is absolutely anonymous, misses the one fantastic chance he has and generally proves to be a wasted jersey. It's like Billy Dodds. He would score in most games, if he had 8 chances in those games. And he would score the most obscure chance of the lot. And it would puzzle you as you left the ground. But by the time you were home and even before Sportscene was on, you would realise he was a lucky wee shite and actually pretty crap and what the fuck was Duncan Shearer doing on the bench anyway....?
  13. Utterly disgraceful. I was at an event held by Nutmeg magazine recently, and Mackay was asked to be the main speaker at it. The interviewer (can't remember his name, but he's a writer and TV regular) refused to chair it if Mackay was a guest. Rightly so. Mackay was cancelled. This shouldn't be tolerated. "Show Racism the Red Card"... it's not "Show Racism the Red Card but then invite it into your front room for the next two years". He's an arsehole. Scotland should invite applications. Take interviews and after that who knows? They may get a young, vibrant manager who doesn't have any hang ups about Scottish Football and may well pick guys like Graeme Shinnie, Ryan Christie, Stevie May and Brian Grant.....
  14. He got away with one. On the face of it his subs were ropey at best. Let's face it, he's a wee prick. I wish i didn't have to speak about a Dons legend like that, but he is. I'd be amazed if anyone on this board other than Tips n Natties actually gave two fucks for the guy. He's a horrible wee shite. He hates Aberdeen. His assistant hates Aberdeen. I want AFC's players to prosper, they never will with those two cretins in charge of the national side. Fuck them.
  15. They're not called Ticket Bastard for nothing. Started off as a normal ticket agency years ago charging a quid per transaction (not per ticket as it rose to and then some), now absolute cunts. But it's certain greedy bastards in the music industry that have allowed this to happen over the years. Thankfully i don't like any of the shite bands/solo acts that would be targeted by Ticket Bastard for this sort of thing, as you have 1903....
  16. I'm not really sure how anyone can suggest that Strachan is picking form players when he brings Anya off the bench who has barely kicked a ball at club level all year. Strachan is lauded for his loyalty to players, but that completely ignores the fact that international management is the one managerial job where you don't have to be loyal to players because the pool of players you can pick from is huge and it is absolutely about form players and results. While a certain continuity is required, being blindly loyal to players at that level is likely to result in one thing come the end of it... the sack. I couldn't help but think last night that when Scotland needed a goal it'd have been really handy to call on Ryan Christie from the bench. Hope they do it on Sunday, could be a long 90 minutes though.
  17. Was at that one too, forgot that one. Koumbuare's debut i seem to recall. The local bams were out in force that night too. Windass's 3rd or 4th that night was absolutely brilliant. Similar to Shearer's volley in the play-off game v Dunfermline.
  18. To add to some of the above, I've also seen: Jess (4) v Pars away 4-1 Jess v Dundee Utd away 3-2 Gillhaus v Hibs away 4-2 Shearer v Thistle away 7-0 Shearer v Hearts home 6-2 Mike Newell v Dumbarton away 5-1 (?)
  19. And now for tonight's lotto numbers......
  20. Locals were fantastic, probably as friendly people as I've ever encountered. Obviously there will be people out there as you describe, but we didn't experience any of that in Vietnam. There was a little of it in Cambodia when we were there but nothing that couldn't be handled. The overriding feeling from the locals was that they were delighted that people wanted to visit their country and especially those who wanted to experience it properly in terms of eating where the locals eat and such like. We travelled from Saigon > Hoi An > Hue > Hanoi > Ha Long Bay. Would like to go back to visit Sapa. Glad you enjoyed the Bike Shop, not been for a while, have to rectify that soon.
  21. Would be surprised if this wasn't announced before the weekend. He's always wanted to work with Mark Kerr; would fill the void in his life left by Xabi Alonso's retirement.
  22. I watched that too and have series linked it. Very interesting stuff, and a lot of it I wasn't aware of, like just how involved France had been post WW2. The clip of the wee kids running along the country road, away from another village under attack never gets any less harrowing. Toured round some of Vietnam 4 years ago, and it is an absolutely great country. Would recommend it to anyone.
  23. Seems like it. I'd much rather have Ancellotti as my coach than Robben as a team mate. Carlo is a brilliant coach and comes across very well. He won't be out of a job for too long anyway.
  24. The joke's on Coyle, if he had waited a few hours he could have applied for the Bayern job.
  25. Suggests to me his stock is low and he's trying to rebuild his reputation at RossCountyFootballClub and will aim to rebuild his reputation at the footballclub etc etc and so on and so forth.
