That was a horrendous tackle on Messi. I really like the wee guy and I sincerely hope it's not as serious as it looks (he's been stretchered off and his hands are over his face, they've taken his boot and sock off... not a good sign) Good luck fella.

Watched the first half on a sketchy stream and had The Last Word on at the same time... Andy Gray epitomises the very thing that is wrong with modern day punditry - someone is always at fault for goals rather than it just being fucking good play. He was so keen to express that Darren Fletcher played a stunning pass out to Nani for United's second today, then slags Konchesky for not being tight enough... give the lad a break man. He can't, and won't be touch tight for 90 mins, any full back would have been the same. Just accept it was a fantastic pass and good wing play from Nani (Konchesky could maybe have done better once he had collected it but it's still harsh). The guy is a cuntstick.

finished 2-1 Celtic Man Utd beat Liverpool 3-2, hat trick from Berbatov (his second was a brilliant overhead kick). Pool are utter shite, got back in the game through a pen and a free kick (both expertly taken from Gerrard) but offered fuck all else. Merieles is a player i really like and think he could be a cracking player for them but I don't think Liverpool used him properly, in the first half especially. London huns currently 2-0 up on Blackpool after 18 mins. Andy Gray just called Martin Tyler "son". I think i'd possibly put a biro through his eyeball for that. Patronising cunt. Atletico Madrid v Barcelona at 6. Should be a good game, I think Atletico have a great chance of winning this one.

I was seriously unimpressed (again) with Langfield yesterday. He was shit at the goal, looked very dodgy with the ball at his feet early on and his continual volleying of the ball towards Considine's head on the wing just surrendered possession time and again. He had very little to do yesterday and he didn't convince in much of it. Also seems to have caught David Preece's aversion to coming off his line for crossed balls.

McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form
BobbyBiscuit replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I was also impressed with Folly. First time I've seen him play and I think there could be more to come from him. Very tidy player who got around the pitch well. -
Apparently so and that's what i find so depressing. Motherwell, going by yesterday's game are not a good team. Even if they were, Fir Park is still one of the away matches I'd expect us to have a very good chance of winning. To give up any hope of that before a ball is kicked is criminal and is surely not what our club is about. If McGhee thinks otherwise then I have lost an awful lot of respect for him.

McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form

Thought the same Al, he was actually coming on to a game when he was taken off. In saying that though, although he didn't do too much, Megginson looks to have a better touch and a better idea of how to play the game. -
The fact he clearly lined the team up to get a nil nil draw. It wasn't the worst or most depressing performance, but if we're now at a stage where our manager sets us up to get a goalless draw at Fir Park and sees this as a good thing, then what hope is there? Will he put 7 centre halves across the back when we go to Parkhead and Ibrox? It was Motherwell for fucks sake McGhee, not Manchester United.
-
Aye, so did McGhee apparently. In all my days of supporting the Dons i never ever thought i'd see us play for a point at Fir Park. Today is quite possibly the single most depressing day of my support.

Personal experience tells me otherwise.

Supposedly Pawlett is out for tomorrow.

that's simply bollocks.

McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form
BobbyBiscuit replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I've seen him through the middle quite a few times, unfortunately my short to medium term memory is terrible so I can't recall if there was a period he played that position regularly. I'm not saying that if he is playing he shouldn't be through the middle, just implying that he probably isn't the answer and that I certainly don't think he will replicate his Scotland under 21 form for us. If it was a choice tomorrow of him and Paton through the middle I know who I'd go for but unfortunately my option seems to have fallen dramatically out of favour with the management and by all accounts, isn't likely to find favour again any time soon. -
McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form

There is talent there, undoubtedly but he's so lacking in game intelligence that it's frightening. The number of times he runs with his head down, not even attempting to look up to see what is happenng around him is pretty startling. These things will not change when his position changes. There is obviously a case to answer as far as coaching goes, but he's been in the first team for 3 or 4 seasons now and he doesn't seem to be using his own experiences to make himself a better player. -

Dear Mizer, Young Chris has been given many chances through the middle at Aberdeen and has been just as ding there as he has been out wide. I would like to suggest that under-21 football may just be his level. Hope this helps. BobbyBiscuit -
So you believe it's a competitive league then?

looks like Atletico are doing you already and it's not even 8 o'clock.

last time i saw him play was as a full back for Southampton. Worth a look? -
Nice comment from the artist formerly known as Big Eck: Sky showing sending off of Schalke player for a studs up challenge, Sky pundits discussing it, Souness saying it wasn't a red, McLeish says; "is that not known as a Souness?" The truth often hurts and it seems it did this time.
-
Not saying you were right wrong or otherwise, just that i'd be astonished as when he left us the rolled up £10 note would have been bigger than him...
-
I'd be astonished if that was true. He lives near me and i see him out quite a lot, always in cafes and coffee shops when he should be in the pub. He may well have cleaned up his act but i doubt it. A proper little posh boy i'm led to believe. He is a tiny wee guy though, literally 35cm high.

When the fuck did Jonathon Smith turn a game for us at all never mind one that was on TV?

The same tactics are derided when it comes to teams going to Parkned and Iprix. Noticed that as well. Seems to be a popular ignorant opinion that Fergie was shite. He maybe wasn't the best at that time but he certainly scored goals. Seems to be an over eagerness to lump him in with Mourinho and Wenger as "guys who were shit at football but brilliant managers". It's simply not true. In sayin that Fergie got it wrong tonight. I'm a big fan of Jason Park but only when United may be up against it. Gibson is never good enough for United ... he can't tackle, can't run and can't pass, he can shoot. Be as well playing a cannon beside Fletcher to be honest. Rooney was way out of sorts and should have made way at half time. Hey ho.

Agreed, ally. Also think he went rapidly downhill when Leighton was sacked. I blame the white boots.
