  1. £16 to watch that game is an absolute joke and is the reason football will die in Scotland.
  2. Nemanja Vidic is one of the world's best footballers. The best centre half I've seen since Alex McLeish.
  3. as the others have said, not a good idea. When he was on his game he was one of our best players in a team that had some pretty good players in it, but Scott Booth would be ashamed of that injury history. I like Smith and I genuinely hope that he can have a sustained period of full fitness and have a successful end to his career, but unfortunately I just don't think Aberdeen can afford take the gamble that it's with us.
  4. Aye, Craig Campbell was pretty good. Why anyone would want to sit down the front at one of his shows is beyond me.
  5. aye, said it twice at his show. I don't think his comedy is one that is sustainable over a long period of time anyway which is probably why he's doing it. He's good at what he does but once you've heard his usual stuff, I'm not sure how much depth there is after that. 107-date tour, at £23/£25 a head... probably won't need to work again.
  6. Same here TF. we had some amount of hecklers at ours (the Wednesday show) and it's safe to say he ripped each of them a new arsehole. that's his last tour as well, he's retiring after it.
  7. I'm not sure if this (and in particular the moron comment) is aimed at me for putting this up, but the sentiment I was going for is that the apathy surrounding the club seems to come from the centre of the club. Also, we're in a bad way just now purely because of under performing footballers and those under performing players are in no way the level we're at because of our chairman? Really?
  8. There were injuries, to the extent that van de Ven ended up centre half at times and Mason and Ten Caat at full back now and then but the fact is it was just clear that it wasn't working any more. Whether Smith had lost the respect of the players after bottling it at Ibrox the previous season or if the players themselves had lost confidence I'm not sure, but something had to change. That was a team who should have won the league, and they were on the slide. To be in mid-table with that set of players was nothing short of criminal. Agree on your Chris Anderson comment too. Also wish Dick Donald had listened to him more when he was around.
  9. It's bad enough that people outwith the club's support perpetuate the "Alex Smith shouldn't have been sacked" pish, we don't need our fans and club legends doing it too.
  10. Crikey. That's a fair first half!
  11. Is that what's in the first post? Daytripping indeed. You're clearly on a fishing trip. Or you're just monumentally fucking stupid.
  12. 1. I don't know. Why don't they? 2. Absolutely. This thread, as the title suggests and the first post also says, is about passion for the club. That he can show that he wants the same for the club that the fans want. That he can show we're all singing from the same hymn sheet. A bit of togetherness could go a long way ye know? It mentioned fuck all about investing his own money. Now, why don't you just read the words that are on the screen instead of jumping in with two feet because you're so obviously hell bent on defending Stewart Milne's "honour"*. *if he has any left.
  13. No one said he didn't care. He just seems as apathetic as an awful lot of the support at the moment (but then, he's seemed that way for a long time now)
  14. ...not to mention honesty. An open letter from West Ham's Joint Chairman David Sullivan. Ok, it doesn't really achieve much in the grand scheme of things but it at least shows that he gives a fuck.
  15. As much as I liked Russell when he was with us, I think DerBomber has pretty much summed up how I feel about this. Aberdeen FC can not afford to take the financial risk that he is actually available for even 50% of the time. Pay as you play deal would be ideal, but anything other than that would be crazy given the state of our finances. Your statement of "would at worst be available for 50% of the time" has no basis whatsoever other than your own optimism, as he hasn't been available 50% of the time down south. And if he has, he still hasn't played 50% of the games, in fact nowhere near it which raises questions of sharpness, not to mention the impact so many bad injuries have taken on his ability and confidence. Mark McGhee will get the fans onside by winning matches. Simple as that really.
  16. To be honest it has been many years since I was confident that we'd get a result against teams like St Mirren, home or away.
  17. I've just bought Negative Space by Zoe Strachan, Junky by William Burroughs and McIlvanney on Football by Hugh McIlvanney. Started Negative Space, it's set in Glasgow and is very, very dark but good.
  18. St Mirren 4 (Four) Celtic 0
  19. According to wiki he's got a year left on his contract come the summer, which probably puts that rumour to bed.
  20. It's supposedly Adam Rooney we're looking at.
  21. £15 or £16 at the gate. (that isn't a choice by the way, just I can't remember which price it is. I should really as I walk past the away gate every morning.)
  22. I'm not saying you're wrong, but is there anything in particular Miller has done that has made him a pain in the arse?
