A very good point Reekie. No matter how fucking depressing it is.
-
How can it ever expire if it's a rolling contract? A rolling contract surely means that with every day you have a year left. Otherwise it's just a years contract.
-
Surely the whole idea of a rolling contract is that it doesn't expire?

If anyone here remembers the 91-92 season, then you'll maybe remember the reaction en masse of the fans who wanted Smith out.. and instantly wanted Willie Miller in. I remember being at Broomfield and losing 2-0 at the time, and a chant goes up of "Smith, Smith Get to Fuck". It's rapidly followed by "There's only one Willie Miller". And Miller was sitting in the Dons dugout at the time as he was a coach at the club. I was just about a teenager at the time and the whole situation was alien to me. Calling for a managers head etc, but there was also a thrill again of singing for Willie Miller. There seemed to be real passion but also hope. Miller used his players really well and initially made some wonderful signings with Richardson and in particular, Duncan Shearer excelling. And then after a while it just went south at a rapid rate of knots. The free flowing, free scoring football machine just stopped. Where there was once a team beautifully balanced in ages, skill and application stood a team lacking in skill and intelligence. It was painful. We got a victory at Fir Park in December that we thought would signal the rise of the Dons but it never happened. Eventually fans started to sing that "Miller must go". It was something I could never sing, he was my favourite player and when he was made manager I was so delighted. But I knew it. If something didn't change then we were down. And now we have Mark McGhee as manager and this is the exact reason I didn't want Dingus as manager over any other and there were plenty of others. It's not working out for McGhee, and the seperation is going to be painful. Whether he survives the summer or not, the knives are out from some and there's pretty much no way back from that.

So, two EPL teams left in CL. One Spanish, maybe. Possibly two French teams left... it's looking a wee bit more exciting for the CL this season.

Craig Brown - McGhee...watch and learn
BobbyBiscuit replied to BigRed's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
He can talk all he wants in there... no one's listening. -
He was there as a fan Kow. He didn't leave his microphone or anything like that!
-
Really? I know there was a certain website "practically jizzing over McGhee" but there is absolutely no way I'd say that was representative of this board and definitely not of the Aberdeen fans I know.

I think McGhee is quite an intelligent guy, but aye his interview pre-match wasn't a comfortable listen and it's clearly a man under pressure. A real defensive mask came on pretty quickly and it's painful to listen to. -

I think it's a first that he had anything to say at all. -
Craig Brown - McGhee...watch and learn

That may be a "complete red herring". -
It wasn't Mcdougall who said that, but I take your point and it seems that figure was plucked out of thin air with little or no evidence to back it up. However, in a similar fashion, you are also jumping to conclusions that those who are staying away are doing so simply because of McGhee and McGhee alone.

also makes sure the sock ties are the same colour as the socks... -
had a fairly good day yesterday. Looking for Werder Bremen and Roma today. Also got a few quid on 2-0 Man Utd.
-
Not sure about underdogs but Tuesday is a massive game for us. 7 points behind Hearts with 2 games in hand, if we can win both of them it puts them under huge pressure and they're all over the place at the moment.

Fir Park. Celtic at home.
-
of course you are, I wasn't aware that I had suggested otherwise. It's called a conversation, and is pretty much the point of the forum. Would you rather I left the last word to you...?
-
I would say there is a pretty big difference between this year and last when it comes to Langfield. His positioning for a start seems all wrong at times. And just because our best 3 keepers never had a coach doesn't mean that others don't need it. Langfield doesn't have the natural ability of Leighton or Snelders for instance. And just because they didn't have a GK Coach, doesn't mean they weren't coached at all...
-
Feeble minds indeed. Going by Langfield's performances this season (without getting into whether he has ever been good or not) certainly suggest that Leighton was doing a good job and certainly not a waste of a wage.
-
I believe it was Martin Buchan who originally came up with that retort.
-
Did he blank you too? Why do you put so much stock into whether Aberdeen players (and in particular Aberdeen legends it seems) have fantastic personalities? Who cares?
-
Maybe you should have thought about that before coming the cunt in the papers about the club you "worked so hard.." to give us a "bit of history". Fabulous player but a pretty horrible, jumped up little man who I have less and less time for the more he pontificates.
-
Same here Kow, was really disappointed when I heard he'd been sacked. Still think it was a huge mistake.

McGhee: Maguire will retuen a better player

Because he's playing for Kilmarnock? -
As I said earlier, never, ever felt comfortable that Real would progress. Mental problem now, fucking ridiculous. At the moment it's "Who's that TWAT from Argentina? Who's that money grabbing whore? Carlos Tevez is his name and he hasn't got a brain and he won't be winning trophies anymore" That was a fair pumping Milan took. They are woeful and Leonardo fucked up badly with his tactics and team selection. Seedorf should have been on from the start. Why go into a game you have to win with Pirlo, Ambrossini and Flamini? The most leg-less one dimensional midfield there has ever been? I'd say so. And yet they had one of the best attacking and inventive midfielders of the last 20 years on their bench. Huge mistake by Leonardo. Recent history shows United have struggled to handle Seedorf, by the time he came on it mattered not a fuck who he was. In saying that, Rooney was excellent and Park was exactly as Ferguson said, "Sacrifice, intelligence and energy", he was brilliant again.
