  1. Smith had the most talented or 2nd most talented squad in the league. We had been pumped out the league cup by Airdrie at home and out of Europe after losing to BK1903 Copenhagen at home and were 6th in the league and plummeting quickly. The players stopped playing for Smith, a lot of which could probably be related back to Jocky Scott leaving. I've met Alex Smith several times and he's a lovely guy, but he had to go.
  2. Absolutely not, they would have appeared by now if they were going to. The only other option is surely a hostile takeover involving the fans... but it would take a lot of fans.
  3. Well we can only force him out if there's an alternative to him i.e. someone or a group who are able and willing to buy a controlling share in the club.
  4. Most supporters? are you sure? I mean, I thought it was time for JC to go, but I certainly wasn't convinced MM was the right choice. It's two exclusive decisions. The fact Alex Miller was an abortion of a manager doesn't mean that we should have kept Roy Aitken, eh? (and before the pedants start, I'm not suggeting JC was akin to Roy Aitken as manager) And who is underestimating the difference a good manger can make to the team? JC won 4, iirc, matches in 2009 with Aberdeen. That's pretty much as hellish as the run we're on at the moment.
  5. Will there be chants or protests against Stewart Milne and the Board any time soon? there is a huge feeling of unrest amongst the support, most of which appreciate that the problems stem from the board room. Will there be a revolt? Do people care enough to protest these days? And even if they do, would Milne and the rest pay any heed?
  6. Fuckin cunt of a band.
  7. Same here, a saving grace really. In the last ten years or so, there must have been maybe 10-12 results that have caused me to utter the words "If that doesn't wake Milne up to the fact we need serious investment nothing will." And as you know, he's never invested money for the playing side, and I actually think he knows we won't get relegated because other sides are just so fucking shite whereas we're just shite. It's a shite state of affairs. shite.
  8. I think he knows that mate
  9. I know what you're saying, but it is clear that some players are just not arsed about whether they do their job properly or not. As tsr says, who do we replace them with? The squad is tiny. I do agree that at least one of Kerr and Mcdonald should be dropped but I can also understand why McGhee is reluctant to do so. Both Kerr and McDonald had some very good performances for us last season, we know they can be assets, why is it that they now look as though they can't be fucked? Even if they don't like the manager you'd hope professional pride itself would spur them on to do their best. Obviously that's just a fucking delusional notion however.
  10. GD - your bet is looking good, Barca 3-0 up at half time. That bet was 8/5 at Hills, incidentally.
  11. Guys on mad saying they spoke to Langfield before the match and he was dropped, he didn't have a sore throat as the radio said and as you'd expect he is far from happy with MM at being binned for today's match. Why say he's got a sore throat despite the fact you have him on the bench? makes no sense to me. If he's dropped, he's dropped. Happens all the time in football, no big deal
  12. Good post mate and all credit to you guys for heading through, don't think anyone could blame you had you fucked it off today.
  13. Why has it got to come to this before these things are aired? Another sign we don't have a decent captain. Miller or McLeish would have gone to their managers had the players felt things had to change with how they were working during the week.
  14. A mate of mine has text me to say that McGhee said on radio that the players "don't like the way I work." That would certainly back up the theory, Kow.
  15. It's a fair point, and I definitely think there is something in that. However, look at the last 5 months of last season and did we not only win 4 matches or something lke that? Maybe this squad of players just can't compete with the likes of Falkirk, Raith and Sigma or their level isn't quite as high as we think or want to believe. Their wages do suggest though that they should be better than that of course. And of course, if this is true then our players are even less professional than I thought, and that's actually quite staggering.
  16. Can't see him resigning and I hope he doesn't. I actually feel quite sorry for him, his interview on BBC shows how much he does care about this club which is a damn sight more than can be said for a fair amount of the players.
  17. It does make me wonder if he wanted to drop him for the cup game but felt it was too big a game to make such a huge change.
  18. The sooner Vidic is back the better. Any combination of Brown, Evans and Ferdinand has looked nothing short of horrific recently.
  19. Langfield dropped for todays game: Aberdeen: Nelson, Mulgrew, Foster, McDonald, Paterson, Diamond, Mackie, Kerr, MacLean, Paton, Fyvie.
  20. Berlin was bad for that. I felt decidedly uneasy because of the attitude of some AFC "fans" towards weegies.
  21. A strange phenomenon that. I reckon we must be the only club in the world who has fans who don't want other fans to support the club because of where they are from. Mental.
  22. You can take some of our first team squad with you.
  23. Not good.
  24. Absolutely not. I'm an utter thrash jotter of a man.
  25. Well, quite.
