  1. And the only reason you've lost your bar is because you Aberdonians are soft as shite, a JC said.... (I hope all Aberdonians reading this realise I'm not one for social stereotyping, unlike Rocket, the tight fisted sheep shagger that he is... )
  2. I was going for Cuntybaws.
  3. I can't say I've ever kept a note of who goes to the bar first and where they're from etc. But now you've mentioned it, I'll have a pint of Amstel thanks.
  4. I'm not sure about it not being the truth, I think the context is important here. When he said it, I got the impression that he was kinda saying "The fans see me as a legend but even that hasn't made me immune from criticism or hasn't bought me time" and nor should it. Mark McGhee was a wonderful player for Aberdeen, but there has to be a concession on his part that a lot of the regulars at Pittodrie, and a lot of the contributors to websites such as this one will have no recollection of him as a player for us other than what they see on DVDs and so they don't feel the emotional attachment some other fans may have with him.
  5. Buying this today I reckon.
  6. Would be well up for this. The Charlatans are doing the same with Some Friendly this year at The Roundhouse in London (sold out in 2 minutes) and one date in Barcelona. Obviously the "in" thing to do.
  7. Who, exactly, hasn't known for years that the club is a fucking shambles from top to bottom? People have wanted Milne out for years. Nothing has changed on that score, recent events have only made that more pertinent. But what do we do? Hostile takeover? There aren't many options open to us other than that unless we were to approach someone with the means to buy the appropriate number of shares to gain control of the club. And let's face it, if someone was of the inclination to do that, it is more than likely they would have done so before now. Milne is fully aware of how unpopular he is amongst the support, you only have to read his comments from yesterday to see that. He's not arsed about that. I would love the situation to change, but I'm not sure how it can without money, are you?
  8. St Johnstone 5 Hibs 1 Crikey.
  9. Aye, and chuck Bert & Ernie from the midfield in with him.
  10. Really couldn't give a fuck if any of them left bar the youngsters. Most of the so called senior players have shown they have previous when it comes to this and as much as it is unlikely in the extreme that we'd ever have literal wholesale changes, I'd love to see it happen because it's what is needed. We have to rid the club of this mindset, and I think that's the only way it'll happen, sadly.
  11. Full article here (thanks K-9!). He's very honest in his assessment, without taking on too much of the blame himself. However, it sounds that there are players there who he knows are not playing for him. If he maybe didn't have the full support of the dressing room before hand, he certainly won't have it after those comments. But that's maybe not a bad thing, the players have to hear it as the "arm round the shoulder" method clearly doesn't work.
  12. I think this is more to do with UEFA rather than the clubs GS. I was hearing yesterday that the English FA are supposed to be pretty angry as they see this as eating into their calendar (There was afterall a Premier game on last night) and are also not happy with the move of the CL Final to a Saturday this year. Their view is obviously centred around themselves and what money they're missing out on though. But there is a feeling that UEFA are trying to monopolise the club game and that the domestic leagues are being marginalised as a consequence.
  13. Aye, it's not often anyone strikes the ball that truly... Fergie was going ballistic at Jonny Evans in the first half, looked as though Evans was shouting back at him. The look on Mike Phelan's face was "Please don't answer him back Jonny" as Fergie turned a purpler shade of purple...
  14. The cup exits hurt us financially. the accumulated opportunity cost of these defeats must be huge. Not to mention the negative effect it brings on the team, the supporters, potential sponsorships etc. A cup win would galvanise the support, get people interested and excited in the Dons. The knock on effect of a succesful cup run should not be underestimated.
  15. The cups are realistically the only tangible piece of success we can hope for at the moment. Losing, on a consistent basis, to lower league opposition is not acceptable, and there is everything wrong with that. Likewise being humiliated by other SPL teams like United and Hibs. And that goes for whoever the manager is.
  16. ...but questions the character of the players, again. It's in the EE, couldn't copy and paste it over. I would fully expect him not to sack McGhee, and questionning the character of the side is fair enough in my opinion... but again, there's no solution to anything. Same old, same old...
  17. United were dire in the first half, Fergie was going off his head. Played well in the second half up to the third goal. Was a cracking game, Fletcher was excellent. Clarence Seedorf was only on the pitch for 20 mins and was one of the standout players, a magnificent player.
  18. Brilliant post CS. As much as I don't like the guy, Graeme Souness often talks about "proper players want to play at San Siro, Bernabeu, Old Trafford" etc, pretty much saying that if you have the fire inside you to achieve, to have the will to win that will get you to these places then you will get there. Our players don't even have it in them to fight to get to Hampden. It's fucking tragic. MM has to carry the can, as that's what managers do, but it sickens me to the pit of my stomach that there are guys continually in the Aberdeen side who quite clearly do not give a fuck about the club, they don't give a fuck that the fans publicly cry that they're not fit to wear the shirt. They don't give a fuck that at almost every turn they sully the name and tradition of the club. And every thing you can chuck at the players you can chuck the equivalent at the board and Stewart Milne in particular. The support seems to be constantly on the brink of anger, willing to fire venom at whoever they can. We're the footballing equivalent of cracking up. We can't go on like this but there's only one man who can change it and he's not willing to. He's the guiltiest of all guilty parties but to be honest, I don't think he cares anymore. As capitalsharpie says, he sees it as enough just to service the debt. He is the saviour and the murderer in one go. That is no future.
  19. Not surprised, and that's possibly the worst thing about it. We should beat lower division sides every day of the week, having two chances to beat them and still failing to do so is fucking criminal. There is no back bone, no heart and no character - not just in the team, but in the whole club. The club is fucking dying a slow painful death.
  20. Mulgrew out with illness, Ifil comes in. Rest of the side remains the same as Saturday's starting line up. Hope the wee fella is ok CtS.
  21. My word... how you doing? Welcome back mate. ps Rach still has a bag on about anything you want to mention, but doesn't post here, still see her fairly regularly though
