  1. McLeish and Anderson, if you'd care to read the thread. But I know you have a mental block with Russell. Just a reminder... Irvine was shit. He was dropped for the title run in 91 so that a full back could take his place.
  2. You can if you want, but it'd be wrong to do so...
  3. Two nil Malaga. I'd never back Atletico when they're down. They are pea hearted mercenaries. They couldn't give a fuck if Atletico rise or fall, they get their stupid wages regardless. Still, I may be wrong...
  4. Kind of my take as well Kow. Good mates with Eoin Jess too so must know we're a better club than the Ribena Bunch in Edinburgh. But let's face it he's a mercenary, as long as we were to offer more money than Hertz he'd move. I really don't think we could afford that to be honest, unless he reckons he's going to be marginalised now JJ is in there.
  5. Fair play MBT. And Rocket, I saw your post before it was pulled. I can only say you're wrong, and to prove it you're more than welcome to come for a pint with me before a match. Just wear your goalie gloves and straight jacket and I'll give you a shout.

Aye, agree with your sentiment there CtS. Don't like that crying bollocks. You've lost a game of tennis v the best player ever, it's fuck all to cry about, my folks were at two funerals this weekend, that's something to cry about. Dust yourself off, say well done to the man and move on.
  7. Serious question... would you really not take him? If he cut out all the shite, the guy can play football and in fairness to him doesn't fucking hide. Not saying it's my choice, but putting it out there...
  8. Aye, surely we get enough players sent off as it is?
  9. Utter nonsense. I'm not the guy's biggest fan, but to take one game alone, watch the Dnipro away match and come back and tell me he didn't make one outstanding save in that game. For a start, to go from the scenario that you have one of the greatest keepers of all time telling you that you're a good keeper to having Colin Meldrum telling you that (that's Colin Meldrum, someone who's still young enough to play, but is only signed as a coach ... perhaps tells you something about his playing credentials) may effect confidence. Langfield was ropey as fuck when he first signed for us to the point Derek Soutar got a game ahead of him. He really matured last season and I thought he was very good. Not Jim Leighton or Theo Snelders very good, but SPL very good.
  10. One out of two aint bad. Cracking United performance. Fergie got it spot on again. Nani played very well first half and Rooney was excellent, but Brown and Evans were excellent as well as the central midfield. But I think Ji-Sung Park played well, nowhere near as flashy as his team mates, but his inclusion in these games is always for a reason: it stops the opposition attacking from the back and when his team is attacking he always gets the opposition full back on the back foot. For the big clubs, full backs are so important these days in how the team attacks - Evra is a prime example - but Park snuffs that threat out for United. He's almost a defensive winger. A true unsung hero.
  11. not wanting to nit pick TF, but he (Langfield) was at fault for the goal at Fir Park and in general has looked very, very shaky all season from what I've seen. Not claiming things with the confidence and assurance he did last season. Dropped a couple of easy crosses at Ibrox that we were lucky not to be punished for. He just doesn't look the same keeper this season.
  12. I reckon this will be the turning point for Jambo fans. JJ is a legend there (it doesn't take much) and I can see him playing the martyr should things not work out, which they won't. There is not a chance the fans will side with Romanov ahead of JJ, I would say the Hertz fanz will be revolting if that happens but they have been for years...
  13. Crikey. Where have you heard that from GS?
  14. Offer rocket a few quid to go in goals for us.
  15. 2-0 to Man Utd v the Arse at half time. First was an Almunia og after wonderful play by Nani. The second from Rooney after a brilliant break from defence involving Park and Nani again. Great finish from Rooney but poor play by Denilson who was tracking back but never checked behind him all the way from the half way line until it was too late by which time the ball was being rolled in front of the man he should have been keeping an eye on.
  16. As I thought, and as much as Willie Miller is by far and away the finest player I've seen in our colours, I don't think you can count someone who has played 5 (five ) matches for us in this time period as the best.
  17. A few dozen games? are you sure about that?
  18. Because it's another player down. Pretty simple really.
  19. Big time, but look at how much Strachan paid for Adam Virgo...who also just so happened to be at a club with huge debts managed by his best mate Mark McGhee..
  20. yeah, cos footballers are well known for "being all there" and that is obviously the most important aspect of being a fiootballer. Handling can be taught. As can positioning.
  21. Jesus wept. Have a fucking word with yourself man.

    Pumped.
  23. nonsense. Leighton made huge improvements with most of the keepers he's worked with - Preece, Esson and Langfield. They all benefited from Leighton's input and Preece and Langfield have both admitted as much.
  24. Only problem is that we're not really leaving a lot of time to get someone in.
  25. £500,000? Can someone please give the lazy bastard a run to the airport today? Cheers.
