He certainly does, but I don't think Langfield covered himself in glory with that one either. What the fuck he was playing at in the second half I do not know. He has regressed since the departure of Leighton, there's no doubt about that.

Stuart Duff can leave Aberdeen

it's obviously been a long time since you were in Glasgow then Reekie. It's a brilliant city with an awful lot going for it. -
Team of Two Decades - central defence

Voted for Anderson and McLeish. Miller is obviously the best player but considering he only played a few matches for us in the 90's I didn't think he was deserving of a place. I think I'd have McLeish as my captain too. -
didn't make one tackle today bb. Absolute shitebag to be honest. Heart the size of a pea.

Lee Miller: Will he stay or will he go?
BobbyBiscuit replied to Wanderingdon's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I'm struggling to think of a forward who has so little killer instinct as Lee Miller. I really couldn't give a fuck if he left. -
the guy plays in slow motion. He's only got one speed, he can't accelerate and generally looks as though he either doesn't give a fuck or just doesn't know what he's doing. It may be a bit of both.

That was awful. Started fairly brightly and knocked the ball about well but it all just disappeared. Davide Grassi. Jesus fuck. That was one of the worst individual performances I've seen in a long time. How did he survive the hook at half time? Absolutely everyone around us were calling for Diamond to come on for him at half time with Mulgrew moving to left back but he kept him on. Finally replaced him when it was two goals too late. Fraser Fyvie is totally wasted in a wide midfield berth, we lose out on his creativity when he's not in the middle. And because he's out wide and comes inside a lot there is no real width to our game. We pinned their full backs in for the first 20 minutes and were having some success and then all of a sudden we just stopped doing it. Why? I thought Langfield was fucking garbage today as well. Spilled a few and should have come for the cross on the second, terrible decision making.

Team of Two Decades - wing-backs

Yeah, he certainly knew how to play the game; excellent touch, passing range, tackling, strong runner. But he was injured what seemed to be like 90% of the time. It's a shame it never worked out. -
Federer blew him away in the US Open Final. Beating Federer in your run of the mill tournaments is one thing, but in grand slam finals it's another.
-
Aye, makes sense. Don't want Federer beating him and it then becomes a psychological block for Murray. He would kind of be like Ivan Lendl to Federer's Boris Becker.

Had a treble up last night of: Blackburn Evs Racing Santander 11/5 Deportivo 9/2 Waiting on Atletico tonight for a four fold. The odds on Depor were way too high, Sevilla have are on a bad run of form as they lost a few players to the ACON. May also be worth backing Depor on Saturday, Real Madrid haven't won at the Riazor for something like 15 years and will also be without Ronaldo who was sent off last week.

Beautiful reading!!! COME ON YE REDS!!!!!!

Craig brown in charge of Well til end of season. Gus MacPherson's a fucking tit. True story.
-
Lovely to see Mackie and Young having the confidence to do what they're doing right now. The difference that makes to Aberdeen is absolutely huge. Let's hope that continues.

Don't think there'll be any links, not listed on MyP2P for a start.

Not before time. Woeful signing and appeared to have a huge chip on his shoulder. He's taken enough money from the club for doing fuck all, really hope we haven't paid up even part of his contract.

P&J: McGhee in move for ex-Rangers forward
BobbyBiscuit replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I do agree with the general sentiment but there is more to this than meets the eye bb. It's tough for a club like Aberdeen to play the system. To maximise the sell on potential of any player, we really have to sell that player when there is 2-3 years left on the contract. This is likely to mean we have to extend/improve the players deal while there is reasonable time left on the existing contract or get him to re-sign when there is only 6 months or less left. In both cases the player may take the view that while the contract is good for Aberdeen, it isn't good for his future. The likelihood is that the player involved is in the lower end of the market, if he is wanting a move away from us, the clubs he sees as desireable are likely to have other targets they could turn to if our price is too high because players of a similar standard are coming to the end of their contracts and therefore there is no compensation fee. There's only one Cristiano Ronaldo and the clubs who were able to sign him knew it would take a big transfer fee to get him as did Man Utd and the player himself, but there are loads of Lee Millers, ye know? So the player himself could be the cause of this as much as the ineptitude or shortsighted-ness of the board. -
P&J: McGhee in move for ex-Rangers forward

Ever thought that his intentions were to do this, but the fact the playing side was in such a shambles may have changed that? You should perhaps also bear in mind the restructure of the club, so that the playing side was kept seperate to the finance side. A rather major point in this debate. Miller is on the playing side, Fraser on the finance side. I look forward to your diatribes against Duncan Fraser as the investment continues not to roll in. -

Regardless of the size of club, it still falls more on Duncan Fraser's side. Again, why he seems bulletproof from you i find a little strange. Aberdeen fans have the right to question anything at the club. The fact I don't agree with everything you say doesn't mean I don't think you have the right to question it. I do think your reasoning for questioning it is skewed though, shown by your apparent reluctance to get stuck into Duncan Fraser for something that is clearly more his responsibility than Willie Miller's. Who appointed Lenny Taylor? Miller overhauled the youth set up. You can not deny this surely? Also, if a player is let go, why on earth would that be down to Willie Miller? It will rightly be down to the youth coaches. Again, it just seems you're more interested in a personal vendetta against Miller when you're using logic like that. I more than appreciate that it's his responsibility. However, I don't understand why you don't appreciate that negotiations can go to pot due to other issues outwith our control. I don't like the way things are leaked to the press, but i don't know if that's down to Miller 100% of the time. Sometimes we lose the possibility of getting players simply because we can't afford them. Thems the breaks, and unless Miller dips into his weekly £1m salary (sic) there's not much he can do about that is there? Negotiations can be handled better, I agree with you. The fact they aren't handled well doesn't just sit with one man though. McGhee's hung us out to dry with these things too, as did JC before him. -

But it is still Fraser's job rather than WM as you admit. So why are you not giving Duncan Fraser a hard time? The leaking of details to the press of internal negotiations was counter productive regardless of examination of his job description, I would say. You have to remember here that - rightly or wrongly - this is what happens in football all over. We recognise it more with AFC because they are our club. I'm sure many fans of other sides are frustrated with this side of things at their club too. That isn't to say that it should necessarily happen with us, but it seems to be the nature of things especially now that agents have such a hand in things. Comparing SAF's time at Pittodrie to JC's is almost irrelevant due to the amount of changes in the game i.e fitness coaches, dieticians, ProZone etc. SAF has a huge staff at Old Trafford now which clearly outlines this point. Regarding him not asking why JC needed SC and JL as well as JN...well, how do you know he didn't? I don't know if he did or otherwise, but I would imagine at least Stewart Milne would have asked this when SC was appointed. JL was already at the club when both WM and JC arrived, incidentally. I'd also add I'd rather JL was still at the club as Langfield's performances have been nowhere near impressive as last season. I agree that the term of contract given to the management team was a mistake. And you've conveniently left out the youth set up which he has overhauled and we are now seeing the fruits of. Miller has always said this was his main priority and the most important aspect of his job. I think what you have to remember is that a Director of Football is there to help the manager. A lot of the time Miller won't have a choice to offer £X to a player if the manager does not want that amount to be spent on that particular player, whether that's a new signing or in contract negotiations for an existing AFC player. Miller also doesn't have the choice of signing who he wants, that's all down to the manager. As far as the league position is going... is that not Mark McGhee's remit? Was it Willie Miller's fault we were knocked out the League Cup by lower league opposition? I wouldn't have thought so. You can argue that the team isn't yet McGhee's, regardless of that, Aberdeen should beat 1st division opponents every day of the week. We didn't. That wasn't down to a club director. -

As has been pointed out to you before, that isn't Miller's job. He is Director of Football. Why would the Director of Football be out "knocking on people's doors"? Surely that would be more Duncan Fraser's remit? Or Angela's... -
All of the "fantastic" results amount to fuck all if you don't win the tournament in my book. (I'm speaking moreso of the domestic cups, of course)
-
His cup record was fucking ding, Dave. There's no grey area there. Don't need to. It wa QotS. Atrocious doesn't even begin to cover it.

It's splitting hairs, but I'd dispute that.
