  1. I presume the "creative" bit will be off loading one or some of our players to them, but we've already tried that have we not?
  2. Can it be called a race if there is only one team after him?
  3. Kevin Kyle
  4. All fair enough, I'd hate to hear what you said about Steve Paterson though... You know you don't have to like the guy to appreciate what he did for us. Anyone on this site would tell you I grew tired of the guy way before he got sacked, it doesn't mean I can't appreciate what he did for us. Things aren't always black and white.
  5. Tend to agree. Portsmouth hired Tony Adams for fucks sake!
  6. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2810710/Man-gets-glasses-tattooed-on-face.html Twat.
  7. that sounds rather bitter and you can only assume he's talking about certain sections of our support as he has a generally good rapport with the media. He had a bit of a snidey dig at the fans on Goals on Sunday a couple of weeks ago which was a bit of a shame after all the good things he said about the club beforehand. Two things here: I think that's spineless and extremely unprofessional of the board if true. Calderwood served us well and should have been afforded more respect than that. Secondly, Jimmy knows why he was sacked. The board telling him why would only have confirmed what he knew anyway. The top six thing is a false achievement. You get bigger games after the split compared to the bottom six. None of the games after the split in Jimmy's time were bigger than a cup final. He can talk up his top six "achievements" all he wants, but I reckon the lack of a cup final never mind even winning the thing must haunt him, and this whole thing is merely a project in self promotion.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVjg1rl79S8&feature=rec-LGOUT-real_rn-1r-1-HM For EFF EFF ESS sake. This looks as though the guy wants to slip though. I think they may well be at it.
  9. It's supposedly Everton for both of them. I'd also imagine they've not been offered contracts and the huns are just saying this to keep the slavering masses at bay. Any money is money for that lot at the minute.
  10. So JC didn't plan for the coming seasons when he signed, ironically enough, Gary Mcdonald before the season was finished? Of course we can plan, we know we don't have any/much money but that doesn't mean we can't plan or look at players who are in our range of which there will be many. Enough of the dramatics, man.
  11. Totally agree. Don't think it helps that the central midfield is changing all the time, no consistency there, no one getting into their rhythm - it effects the whole side.
  12. This could in theory make it tougher for us to plan for next season, but i suppose we may not be able to talk to signing targets til the summer anyway, in some cases at least. I've only read this online, not sure if there's any quotes in the full story, would like to hear the players thoughts on why they're doing this.
  13. Not really sure if this is news or not, but the EE are saying that the two of them are putting other clubs "on red alert" by cancelling contract talks until the summer.
  14. Watched the game online manc and i'd have to say at the moment, despite all the English media building him up (is there a world cup coming up or something?) as having a great season, I'd say Rooney's form is more worrying than Berbatov's. Rooney's touch seems very, very heavy. he's snatching at things and making some very poor choices. I can appreciate what you're saying about Berbatov though, just doesn't seem to be happening for him. Carrying an injury though and I do still think United are a better side with him in it. I am a fan of his, I think he's a cracking player but I do agree that patience is running out, certainly not playing like a £30m player. Van der Sar makes a huge difference to United. Not just the fact he's a great goalkeeper, but the quickness in starting attacks and his all round excellent distribution is a massive plus over Scrabble and Foster.
  15. was just getting on the bus to go and get the train when i heard, it at least saved me the journey but I'd really been look forward to this game.
  16. Rates him so highly that he wouldn't pick him for a good chunk of the season and dropped him for the continual mistakes he was making?
  17. This is a fucking pisser. Was supposed to be getting paid in the morning, looks like work have fucked it up and are now saying "it's looking like Monday...sorry!" So need to check my account in the morn, if it's in, I was going to get the 10.41 train up, but now cos of the inspection that plan is fucked as well... all of this does not augur well in general, I fear...
  18. Now you say that bb it rings a bell. That's a hell of an injury to get, there's not many players who are the same after that. Reckon he's still worth a punt though.
  19. Did he not break his leg and his ankle while down there? If he was having recurring hamstring pulls or calf problems for example, I'd be more worried about the injury situation.
  20. Been in the Loft 3 times in the past year or so (one of my best mates has moved up there) and it is truly, frighteningly horrific. But yeah, i'll see you there...
  21. My thoughts exactly Ajja. A goalscoring (of sorts) defender is excellent to have, but that has to be balanced up with the ability to defend.
  22. In/Oot: In Prematch: Train or bus then either pub in town or my mates flat Match: behind the goal (furthest away from Tesco) Postmatch: A few beers in Perth and head home and not let myself be talked into going to the loft... Prediction: 1-2
  23. i was bored of it while he was here.
