  1. Aye, he must be well past his best.
  2. KKK Docu on FX just now. looks like it might be pretty good.
  3. My amnesia doesn't mean that the amnesia of others doesn't exist. If you care to refresh my memory before i forget what it is we're talking about...?
  4. What did he do that you think insulted AFC fans? (not saying he didn't at one point, just curious to hear what it is in particular you're thinking of) from the DAFC game onwards, I wanted him out - I thought he probably should have gone after QotS but could understand a bit of loyalty being shown towards him. As a person, I was never a big fan of his, as a manager of Aberdeen (the only thing that should count) I thought he did a good job overall and restored the respectability our club had lost years previously. He got the club up off it's knees and I think he deserves for us all to remember that and appreciate it. Some of the petty name calling and viciousness towards him is extremely sad. If it wasn't for his good work, we wouldn't be bitching about a 1-0 loss in Paisley so much, something I think we should keep in mind.
  5. And married to immigrants... (well, a couple of them were anyway)
  6. Agree with you Azteca, but I can understand comparisons because without them we have no yardstick. But those comparisons have to be done in the right way and I don't think that's always happening from either side of the "divide" as it were. MM is getting away with stuff he shouldn't be over on the hat, and I think at times there's a snidey, prickly (apt ) attitude to MM here which really is uncalled for a lot of the time in my view. The other side of the coin is that JC gets some awful abuse from some very short sighted people with apparent amnesia. When we're all on the same side, there should never be anyone wanting to say "I told you so", which is what seems is happening from some.
  7. I was actually talking about the posts made by your leader, not yours stoney. Read LS's posts and tell me that's not blind faith.
  8. Some of it has taken the term "Blind faith" to unheard of levels...
  9. My post in particular was about your use of the term "man-manager". I'm not sure how you know this unless you are privy to team meetings, private conversations between MM and his players and had been privy to the same things when JC was manager. Kind of like how you don't actually know what Willie Miller does but you still want him sacked anyway...
  10. Your opinion, fair enough. however, I'd need to ask how you came to this opinion, what evidence do you have that McGhee is a better man-manager than Calderwood or Ebbe, for example?
  11. Yes, and the fact we have a central midfielder in Kerr who can not strike the ball at goal is ludicrous. He knows before he shoots he's more likely to trouble the crowd rather than the keeper, we know that too so why doesn't he do something about it? It is inexcusable that a professional footballer can not strike the ball, it is a very basic skill. In fact, it's probably the most basic of all football skills.
  12. Quiet night by his standards....
  13. I made the point about corners in livechat tonight, also slightly concerned that despite his size, Ifil seems to cause no problems for the opposition at set pieces. Was he even up for them tonight?
  14. I think a lot of folk would have said that a fair few of those you listed should be punted whether tonight happened or not. Wasn't at the game so I can't add anything new to the "Wright's a big lump and we should get rid of him" thoughts. Piss result tonight, but I'd hate to think a player's future would be decided on one game.
  15. Stavrum? Ahead of Shearer, Gillhaus, Booth and Prunty?
  16. Aberdeen: Langfield, Young, Foster, Grassi, Ifil, Mulgrew, Fyvie, Marshall, Kerr, Mackie, Pawlett.
  17. No, no... just McKimmie and Robertson would have been my full backs. I'd pick Granty ahead of Bisconti and Rico too
  18. That was Ian Robertson in that game. I'd imagine he wasn't the best left back you saw at AFC as he was utter ding. I wouldn't have Rougvie, McMaster or Cooper in mine...
  19. Aye, can't remember the name of the village, but one of them has the Broxi Bar with the helpful reminder outside that handguns are not permitted in "The lounge area". Another village, may well be the next one up from that one as you head away from Glasgow has the Paul Gascoigne and Brian Laudrup Lounges, rather tastefully advertised with a pic of Gazza pretending to play the flute with a Union flag as the background. It's like the land that time forgot. Truly hellish.
  20. they got on the pitch after the game as that was their last as Airdrie and I think there were some dubious flags and salutes Pretty much. Two places I'd urge anyone to steer well clear of.
  21. A fair amount of "fans" with extreme right views who are not afraid of showing this side of themselves. Some of them turned up a game with KKK hoods because the opposition had a black guy playing for them (Gretna, I think it was). If you do a google/YouTube search for Airdrie Section B you'll probably understand pretty quickly why they're not particularly liked.
  22. there was a huge queue last time, everyone getting pissed off cos it was snowing and obviously very cold then the police got involved and things started moving. The stands are all of 5 rows deep as well...
  23. Mackie had a belter of a sitter after a brilliant run by Aluko. And there was an utter shambles before the game as you couldn't just pay at the gate, had to queue up at their box office which only had one person working at it.
  24. aye, it was Teddy Scott who moved him to centre half/sweeper. Think he scored a fair few goals at Peterhead.
  25. Davie Provan having a go at us again in the NOTW. Said Hegarty and Narey were nice guys, especially in comparison to the likes of Rougvie and Cooper who would have stood on your fingers when you were on the deck. well guess what Davie... nice guys don't win much.
