  1. Agree with Jager's sentiments. they were a group trying to improve the support of AFC and I don't think that can ever be a bad thing. It's a shame though that some folk lump the whole group in with one or two arsehole members (I should say I've not had any run in with any of them, just going on others' experiences) but it seems the way with our support and it's more than a bit sad. We should really get on to those weegie fakers next...
  2. http://www.afc-chat.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27341&st=0 something to do with the above?

That's the middle of the night!! You going out robbing again, Al?
  4. Well let's face it, as FJ has already alluded to, some are willing to point out his shortcomings to wind up certain others, whether that's what they really think or not. So that would suggest that it would have happened had we been better on the pitch, to some extent at least.
  5. I don't doubt that at all. I don't think they really need your help in doing so.
  6. The hard time JC got about the pish he spoke was just another stick to beat him with as you rightly point out. The whole comparison thing got more than tiresome a long time ago though. And I do wonder if this would have happened had another manager got the job instead of McGhee, and I should say that comparison is fine and it's what we have to do, but how it's being done is not doing anyone any favours. Just because he was the choice of others and hailed as a saviour by those same blind people doesn't mean we should be any quicker - or slower - on his back than we would be with anyone else.
  7. Fortunately I'm not an old man, but unfortunately I do remember Hetherston. I think John McGlynn is the Raith boss at the moment though. However, I'll see your Peter Hetherston and raise you... Ray McKinnon.
  8. Nicholson in his first season. He was the World's Hide and Seek Champion. It appears McDonald's Invisibility Cloak is rather more effective than Nicholson's.
  9. Exactly. If i had bothered to watch the OF game today I have no doubt I'd have heard Davie Provan saying "... you can't book a player for that type of challenge in an OF game etc", what a lot of shite. Rules are rules, no exceptions. Play to the rules and we'll all get on fine.
  10. I've said this repeatedly this season, I don't think it's a coincidence this is the case considering Dallas is the ref boss now. He was the most guilty of that in his last few years as a ref to the point it ruined matches on a consistent basis.
  11. They were saying yesterday on Soccer Saturday that the reason there hasn't been too much interest in him is because it is well known that his attitude is shite and he thinks he's Billy Bigtime. One nil Hertz at ht in the Junkie Derby.

Think you've answered your own question there.
  13. agree, he dives in all the time. And as for Gary Neville and Michael Owen... someone please just put them out of their misery.
  14. Man City * 01 Given * 02 Richards (Barry 46 yellow card) * 05 Zabaleta * 15 Garridoyellow card * 16 Sylvinho * 33 Kompany * 17 Petrov * 34 De Jong (Tevez 46) * 40 Weiss (Bellamy 74) * 27 Mwaruwari * 44 Boyata Substitutes * 12 Taylor, * 36 Vidal, * 54 Trippier, * 18 Barry, * 55 Tutte, * 32 Tevez, * 39 Bellamy
  15. only 5000 at the WigWam-Hull game today and less than 13k for the Boro-City game (Vidal on the bench again for City). That's pretty poor for cup matches, eh?
  16. Apparently: "I told them not to get involved..." some of them obviously struggle to understand that.
  17. Scotfree was saying in livechat today that he was certain Reading would win that one. Looking good so far! I'm having folk over for the game tomorrow... what they don't know is that i'll be in my bedroom watching the Man Utd game
  18. oops! copied that from Mad...
  19. Marshall starts Langfield Ifil Consi Grassi Foster Fyvie Kerr Marshall Pawlett Mackie
  20. Thought he was ok and would have improved in a more stable side.
  21. Well, basically because of the amount of money he cost us. Not just because of the signing on fee, but in terms of wages, the treatment we would have paid for when he was out for long spells with injury and we knew that even when he was fit he was gash. Shouldn't have been bought in the first place, but for the manager to perservere with him just smacked of pig-headedness. The last part obviously isn't Byrne's fault, but he was a near hopeless defender. Had a couple of ok-ish games I'll grant you, but for the amount of time he was at the club and the amount of money that must have been wasted a couple of ok-ish games really is nowhere near good enough. There were worse players than him undoubtedly, but when it comes down to the reasons above he only edges out Jackie McNamara due to length of "service".
  22. The Sting has just started on ITV4. One of my favourite films of all time.
  23. Worst Aberdeen Player of the Decade: Bryan Prunty. The worst player I've ever seen pull on a red shirt (I'm not counting guys who played one game then we never saw again). Utter fucking ding. Worst homegrown player: Scott Muirhead. Lanky streak of pish was how I described him on his debut and he never did anything to make me change my mind. Worst signing: should really be Prunty as per my first answer, but for the money spent and the perserverance with actually playing the guy, I'll say Richie Byrne. Worst goalkeeper: Bossu Worst defender: McQuilken Worst midfielder: Muirhead Worst forward: Prunty Worst manager: Paterson Pick your worst starting XI from the decade: Bossu McNamara Byrne Lilley McQuilken Muirhead Winter Fabiano Prunty Mike D'Jaffo Worst Game of the Decade: QotS, felt physically sick after that. Some of the other heavy defeats in the early part of the decade were hard to take but not altogether surprising. QotS was unexpected and was pretty monumental. You could go on for ages with the "if onlys..." Biggest single disappointment of the decade: Will have to go with Baggy on this one... the whole rotten saga.
