  1. That's extremely idiotic.
  2. Hertz 1 Sellick 1 with about half an hour left. Samaras for the jungles and Michael Stewart pen for the Diet Huns. Caldwell sent off for professional foul.
  3. Absolutely horrible challenge by Mascherano. Why does Benitez put Benayoun in and out of the team so much? Arguably their biggest threat from midfield outwith Gerard and it just seems Benitez doesn't trust him.
  4. good chance of it being off? Could be a blessing.
  5. took this from AbMad, fantastic goal from our very own Dingus for the barcodes:
  6. The above is from the BBC. Not looking too good at all.
  7. Public perception. JC is seen as a bit of a joke character because of how he comes across in the media, Levein comes across as fairly articulate (for a footballer anyway). shouldn't come into of course, only the ability to do the job should, but I think that's why Levein is ahead of JC.
  8. Agree. I was not JC's biggest fan but he consistently finished above Levein's United. Why would it be dumb for Thompson to go for him when he has proven he's able to get better league placings than Levein? I was pleased JC left but don't re-write history. The guy is a good manager, and he did a lot more good for AFC than bad, something you can not say about some of the jokers before him.
  9. I know that many of our squad are not good enough, but I am also of the opinion that too many are not pushing themselves. I was of the opinion at the start of the season that Gary McDonald could be a really important player for us this season. I know that McDonald can be an asset to us, he makes good, intelligent runs from midfield and can be a genuine link between midfield and attack. However, until this season I have never, ever seen a central midfielder who continually lets games completely pass him by. He just doesn't get himself into the game and for a central midfielder that is criminal and there is frankly no justifiable excuse for it. So I think there is a lack of effort on his part, and he is just one example. He's in the thick of the game, positionally, but chooses not to get involved in it. He's one of the more intelligent players in our side as well, but he's not been playing like it.
  10. You can be utterly incompetent but still not give a fuck.
  11. Well if that's true about the players having less fight (and it certainly looks like it) they can all fuck off. They're paid handsomely to do a job and they're not doing it. Whether they like the manager or not should be irrelevant; professional pride should ensure they give everything they possibly can everytime they pull on that jersey.
  12. I generally agree, but do we just stick with the impotent strikeforce at present because Mackie's had 10 years at the club and should be moved on? He gets a wage from the club, and will get a wage until he is moved on so we might as well give him the opportunity to earn it, as we've given the opportunity to Miller and Maguire and generally speaking they're stealing a wage from us. We can't move him on in December and the "strikers" need to know they're not undroppable.
  13. Yeah, around Christmas and into the New Year it all starts going south for them. They look a typical Levein side though, if they don't score from a set piece then they're pretty screwed and fairly easy to get the ball in behind them. Makes it all the more frustrating we never took our two exceptional chances against them at Pittodrie when it was 0-0. However, I'd love to have Bauben and Gomis playing for the Dons. Gomis in particular is a cracking player.
  14. Mackie deserves a chance. Fair play to him, he's not moaned in the press about not getting a chance lately and it must be frustrating for him watching the guys playing in his position not producing it. Even more frustrating is that he was dropped for less. If it doesn't come off, then fair enough, but the guys who are not producing the goods have to realise there are consequences to them not performing.
  15. I think this could be where United start to slide.
  16. Quite possible that MM is just weighing up his options before offering anyone anything rather than it being totally dead.
  17. @Baggy - I think you've been more than a touch creative with your facts there. The numbers may well be more or less the same but you haven't touched at all on the ages or abilities of players. The abject performances could suggest many things, quite possibly that the senior players aren't happy under McGhee. I have no idea if they are or not, maybe you know something I don't but it's a fair leap to assume this if you don't. One thing I'm fairly sure of is that the performances of senior players suggest that they are not good enough to get us results over a run of games.
  18. Kevin Thomson is a horrible little cunt.
  19. I can deal with players having bad games, I can't deal with players who just look as though they'd rather be anywhere else. He is now a senior player at Pittodrie but he takes so little responsibility when he's on the pitch. He has to be one who leads by example and it just doesn't happen. When Miller plays well he is a huge asset, but when he can't be arsed his apathy seems to spread through the whole side. It got to the point a long time ago that I really couldn't give a fuck if he stays with us or not.
  20. Do you not like him as a player Al or do you just think he's a hun cunt?
  21. what a goal from Figueroa for Wigan v Stoke today. Few yards inside his own half, free kick, and he pings it over the keeper into the top corner. Cheeky bastard.
  22. In that case, because we know Aluko can do it. We've watched Mackie for over ten years and he's ding. Constantly ding. And Dave and Kow can post up his goals from Dnipro or Parkhead if they want, but the boy is a poor, poor player and has been for years. You can not throw that at Aluko. By all means, if he's been pish then say it, but if you want the guy to get pelters in the way Mackie does (and I'm not for a second saying it's right Mackie gets those pelters) then you're tripping buddy.
  23. Johnny Marr is alright but Morrisey's a prized tit.
  24. 2-2 in the Valencia-Real game, cracking match with only 10 mins to go. Two good goals from Higuain for Real but two nightmares from Casillas, continuing his "goalkeeping like a spastic" start to the 09/10 season, levels it up. oof!! 2-3 Real, header from Ezequiel Garay.
  25. Don't blame you mate
