  1. two of the players were red carded after the final whistle Andrew. Unless you were fishing in which case it's a "whoosh" on my part
  2. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/scotland/article6946066.ece Graham Spiers on the jambos in this morning's Times. Doesn't say too much that we don't know, really, but it's worth a read anyway. His last line brought a chuckle too.
  3. Did anyone see Stewart lash out at something in the tunnel and promptly fall on his arse? Comedy gold! The ref in that game used to ref some of my games when I was a teenager...good to see he's keeping up his usual high standards...
  4. It's funny cos it's true!! "He" also mentions Willo Flood... is he still at Ra Sellick?
  5. Ifil, Considine and McDonald in for Grassi, Maguire and Kerr. Aberdeen: Langfield, Mulgrew, Ross, Foster, Ifil, Considine, McDonald, Young, Miller, Paton, Pawlett.
  6. both wingers though... is this where we need to strengthen when we have Aluko and Pawlett? Paton has done pretty well out wide too.
  7. Charlie Miller was a good player, didn't live up to the hype but he was certainly not a bad player. And as well as Young played against the vermin, I don't think we can automatically assume he's going to put that level of performance in every time he plays, past performances certainly suggest he won't.
  8. No danger! Really can't see McGhee being interested, he's way, way past it now.
  9. To be honest, I thought it was longer than 5 years ago. The guy had just about all the ability you could ask for, but I'm not sure he had the right outlook or mental strength to consistently get the best from himself. And I know it won't be a popular opinion, but I didn't really give a toss when he left us. His time at Pittodrie was largely frustrating (not always his fault, of course) punctuated with moments of petulance with fleeting glimpses of brilliance. In a different time he could have been so much better for us and could have been the focal point of our team. The epitome of a cult hero, in my opinion. RIP Zero.
  10. Walking style vaccum Mark Hately has chipped in with his thoughts on the Nacho Novo incidents and he tells the "wee man" that the morons in the stands are worse than him but Novo - whom Hately loves, apparently - shouldn't have reacted. Goes on about how these men shouldn't be shouting this stuff as their wives and children will hear it (does everyone go to the games as families these days?) and then recounts the comical tale of how "SICK DONS THUGS ATTACKED ME WHILE I SIGNED AUTOGRAPHS FOR TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN OUTSIDE PITTODRIE" or something like that. No word on him getting hit on the head by Fraser Fyvie's homework a few years ago. Must be saving that up for our next meeting with the vermin. Here's a pic of his failed business in Renfrew. Fairly setting your stall out, I'd say...
  11. Saw them loads of times the first time round. "Sing" at the Barras is one of my all time favourite gig moments, absolutely epic.
  12. Yeah, I'm imagining it all... Had to laugh at Paterson saying his strength as a manager was man-management rather than tactics and the like, obviously forgetting about the time he told a young player all week he'd be playing on the Saturday only to forget to tell him he'd changed his mind come 2pm on matchday...
  13. I'm sure you would love to know how I know that I don't actually believe he thought he was shit, Paterson didn't like the guy. More to do with personalities than professional opinion, I'd say.
  14. Paterson never wanted to sign Heikkinen and only did so after a lot of persuading by Shearer. In the time Paterson was there, he only spoke to Heikkinen twice, both times it was to tell him he was shit. I thought Booth was excellent for us that season, played the game with an intelligence way beyond the majority of his team mates... which is a bit unfortunate for all concerned.
  15. I really don't think that's going to happen Al. They seem to be playing the game properly now by recognising we have to get these boys on long term deals to both keep them here, and to maximise our earning potential from them if the right bid was to come in.
  16. Fantastic, well looking forward to that
  17. Lee should never type in the third person. As a writer, he should know this Good work Andrew!
  18. Got a fiver on QotS and Berwick. QotS are currently fucking that up. Is there no end to the emotional turmoil that shower of cunts will put me through?
  19. strange how it doesn't mention 1986 until the stats!
  20. He's never scored a club goal at Pittodrie though...
  21. ...and don't let McCourt (if he's playing) run at you. Thump him as early as possible. I always think we've got a great chance at Parkhead to get in behind them, they hold quite a high line and with the pace we have coming from midfield we should get chances.
  22. Do the BBC have the rights to show a live match each round?
  23. Are you walking?
  24. They actually did a lot better than most teams on it. You should see Gary Caldwell's from last season... it was violently shite.
  25. 2-0 at half time, two goals in 3 mins, the second an og by Vermaelen.
