  1. And a cheeky cunt, apparently!
  2. I know what you mean. My excitement left years ago, but my love for them *unfortunately* stays, and every season i think this is the one they're going to burst out the traps and do "it". We're in alright shape at the moment i think (i have no justification for this other than I'm an Aberdeen fan in close season and i'm a bit drunk but fuck it.) We will bring players in and some things will change under McGhee. Fuck knows what, don't ask me, I'm not a fucking mind reader
  3. It may well be there. Just cos it's not being used on the transfer budget doesn't mean it's not been received. (not that i believe it has) They probably did. what's your point though? Had we kept JC how do you know there would have been anything available to him considering there were board members against him and one of the major issues was how he couldn't spot a decent cheap player? Why? have we failed already? Is that not the defeatist attitude of another, down market afc chat site? Maybe we held on too long the last time... just a thought. That's up to you. but whether it was JC or MM in charge, we're still up against it. To imply it's anything to do with the managerial change is inventive to say the least. We were always going to have a difficult time. Yeah, cos that never happened under JC, eh? Sorry, wasn't aware that it had. Or is this just another soundbite to offer to the JMG that they "MAY" have got it wrong? A chance to guard yourself against them in case it goes pete tong under McGhee. If it has gone wrong now (I don't think it has, but...), then it has certainly got something to do with JC in it. MM hasn't even had a game, but it's JC's team he's managing and there is a fair shower of shite in there... what does that say?
  4. Agree with that EP, only thing I'm hoping for is that, in the case of McLean and Johnsen in particular, McGhee reckons he'll be able to sign them permanently at the end of the loan should they be deemed good enough for that. Could of course be back to square should they all be cock/head back to their clubs at the end of their term with us.
  5. We're not in it yet Seebass, need to qualify for it first!
  6. Agree, Mizer. Think they're going to look at SPL TV after that.
  7. Even better then. They have the choice of Saturday lunchtime or all day Sunday. I don't see what the problem is with that. But some people just want to act all hard done to when nothing has happened yet just because its the scumbags involved. Not that hard to have a prior agreement in place when the rights are first sold, is it?
  8. I have no idea what you're trying to say in that first part in bold. The second part... think of it this way. ESPN (should they buy the rights) also have rights to the EPL so essentially our games have to fit round theirs. i.e Saturday lunchtime or Sunday Lunchtime being the most likely slots due to the EPL evening games on both days. When ESPN buy the rights, are they really going to agree to sign over their scheduling to the OF when they've spent considerably more on purchasing the rights to the EPL? I wouldn't have thought so. You have to remember that if the OF buy the rights, they will do so from the League itself, and frankly, if they are allowed to buy them and dictate (or attempt to) when the matches are, then the league and all those who voted for it deserve all they get. Primarily the decision when games are falls with the league and the clubs, and TV does it's best to fit round that, why people think it's the other way about baffles me (think of matches being moved at fairly short notice because of matches in Europe and still being shown on TV). Celtic and Rangers prime concern when doing this is to make money. They would be daft not to contemplate that if they attempt to play hardball with the others over match times it could come back to seriously bite them in the bum. That's not to say it won't happen, but they would be extremely daft to do so.
  9. Huns TV and Tic TV died along with Setanta. They were Setanta channels, they were not run in-house at Ibrox and Parkhead.
  10. How would it? Do you really think the OF are going to set up their own TV station and all of a sudden know how to operate one? They will sell the rights to a real broadcaster, who will then have discussions with the SPL. clubs then have to agree when the matches are played.
  11. The guy's hardly kicked a ball for years. United are taking a gamble. If we took a gamble and it failed (on Jamie Smith for example) the club would be crucified for that too.
  12. It is a possibility that McGhee didn't want Webster. Again, "good, quality players" is clearly subjective.
  13. Can't see that being an issue for the OF as I can't imagine too many fans of other clubs were buying it under Setanta (i got mine for free). It's the OF fans buying it where the money is.
  14. I think they'd buy the rights to the matches then sell them on to another company. The 12.5 million would be offered between 10 clubs rather than 13m between 12 with them taking the lions share. That's what i presume, anyway.
  15. Saw that last week, not a bad deal for both sides really. MM - it outlines the league bonuses depending on where we are in the league at the time
  16. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1305502?UserKey= Stop laughing at the back!
  17. Says all the right things, but slow news day obviously.
  18. Yeah, i was at those one as well. We had Andy Parkinson and Omar Riza playing for us against Southampton, think we beat them. James Beattie scored a cracking goal for them. The Hamburg game was good, bit of niggle in that, shame there was only me, you and 6 others there to see it though...
  19. Think it was Rapid Bucharest. We ended up counting the seagulls in Section Y. Fucking brutal game of football.
  20. Surprise, surprise!
  21. Oh wait, you're right. We'll take one of the other ones then because they'd automatically be easier than Bohemians as they're not from Ireland... Pretty pointless comparison MBT, that game was nine years ago.
  22. If we're going to sign anyone from the lower leagues (a more likely scenario these days) then it's better he did score at that level than not, a la Tommy Wright. I do appreciate your scepticism though, although I think it could be a good move there is always that doubt isn't there?
  23. Not long now until we find out who we've got in the third qualifying round for the Europa League. I'm sure someone on here will be able to tell me if this is accurate or not, but according to today's Herald the teams we could draw are: Larissa (Greece) Elfsborg (Sweden) Young Boys Berne (Switzerland) Gent (Belgium) Valerenga (Norway) Legia Warsaw (Poland) IFK Gothenburg (Sweden) Sturm Graz (Austria) Derry City (Ireland) Hajduk Split (Croatia) I'm not sure if this is just some of the teams we could get or if it will definitely be one of those listed above. There are some tricky ties in there I have to say. Wouldn't be a very exciting tie, but I'd have to go for Derry City out of that lot.
  24. Know what you mean chief. It is a worry, but, the one thing I can say is that the window shuts in over a month and a half's time so we've got plenty of time to get some players in. we've obviously got Europa and SPL action before that but I reckon we'll have at least one or two in for them. Let's face it, come November, and we're flying high, will it matter that we signed players after Celtic or Rangers or Hearts as long as these guys are doing the business for us? Of course it won't. McGhee's working with a new squad, as he said himself, being away in austria with them will let him see more of their abilities and disabilities (sic - no jokes about Mackie!!) and will perhaps give him a clearer idea of what's needed, which wouldn't have been the case a week or two ago.
