  1. I hear you brother, I really do. I'm not filled with excitement about any of them per se. Eric Black would have been my choice but I think that ship has sailed. I don't think it's going to be anyone too horrific* so at the moment I'm content to have the club look at every possible applicant and candidate. I will however be rather hacked off/worried if it's not done in the next week or so. *Jim Jefferies, Bobby Williamson, John Hughes, Billy Dodds (Mizer, you were surely not serious?), Dean Windass etc
  2. Hugo? Might not be as simple as that though Al. Possibly, if we know Celtic are out of the equation as far as McGhee is concerned we may not have to offer him as lucrative a deal as we would if we play "hardball" as they say. Also, if we do take that line with him and for talks sake we then turn to Levein, we'd surely have to take the same line as he too is being linked with the Tims. Celtic can only appoint one of them, and probably will appoint neither, so is it really worth losing out on both instead of being patient?
  3. Apparently Magilton has taken the QPR job, so we can strike his name from the list.
  4. Bruce has demanded that any deal with Sunderland includes both Eric Black and Nigel Spink
  5. Seems strange that he's gone back out to 4/5, he was at 8/15 a couple of days ago. Jim Magilton with the same odds as Black, I wonder if he's been interviewed?
  6. He must be 5th or 6th choice and the ones in front of him are being whittled away... looks like Martinez has turned them down along with Coyle and most probably Mowbray. According to the Guardian yesterday, Levein is ahead of McGhee in their preferences too.
  7. Both Hughes and McAllister are no go's for me. This guy has also applied apparently http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Rennie
  8. I know you weren't saying that, it just appeared that ST was getting a bit "happy-Clappy" about old Barren. I know that too, he is just unbelievably frustrating to watch.
  9. Nothing new here really, but elsewhere people are saying if we don't get McGhee it may be offered to Gary McAllister. I would not be happy with that at all.
  10. It has flesh? The days of me wearing football tops are long gone!
  11. I don't think many would disagree with you about how awful it is that our own fans boo our own players. However, I do hope you're not suggesting that the guy is above criticism outwith the games (on here for example) because we should respect the decision of the new manager?
  12. Think the one working in the Premiership is possibly Andy Watson?
  13. It was more down to his assistant wanting rid than anything, and I'm sure you'd agree he'd know a bit about how to play as a centre forward. Our best manager in over a decade also believes Derek Young is a player. Horses for courses, and all that...
  14. that bit in bold (I'm not disagreeing with giving him a break) goes against Darren Mackie is, by and large, a poor player. While not advocating in any way giving the guy stick, you still have to appreciate why people are frustrated with him being picked, whether a fourth manager gives him a game or not (and in that you're being a touch selective with the facts, Paterson tried hard to get rid of him and Skovdahl never really had him as a regular starter for his full tenure going on memory) it doesn't mean people's opinions will necessarily change, especially as there are many variables that could see him get a game regularly.
  15. UEFA Cup Winners medals - Ossie Ardiles Former Scotland Internationals - Maurice Malpas? Gary McAllister?
  16. I don't really see what difference a new manager makes to this. He's an Aberdeen player so he gets my support and I wouldn't boo him etc regardless of who the manager is. If he continues to be picked for us,as much as I wish it not to be the case, it is now more than likely given the stage of his career that he will also continue to be a largely poor player with the odd gem of a goal or performance. These things have punctuated his career and I see no reason why that would change. When it comes to forming opinions about players, people will use what they see in front of them and not what the manager of a club tells the press about that player. If a new manager decides to use him, I would fully hope that people don't get on his back, but I'd also hope that people didn't take it as a sign that Mackie is something that he's not.
  17. Three would be more accurate.
  18. I haven't mate, I had been told today but obviously that isn't accurate!
  19. Boothroyd is a twat. Get over it.
  20. Revised odds from McBookie.com:
  21. So you're a Thursday Fanboi then?
  22. I'll kick your cunt in.
  23. I believe we may see McGhee unveiled tomorrow. I also think Stephen Hughes may be signed for us, which would be a positive thing. Honestly, Ms H, me and he have reached a compromise these days (he's agreed Jim Jeffries will be nowhere near the job, I've agreed not to upstage him in mass again... )
  24. It wasn't the priest I was talking about, I have friends in higher places! (not that i go to church anymore)
  25. I really wish the internet would fuck off. If you had been at church today they'd just have said that Pope Benedict (why Benedict? I had £20 he was going to call himself Gregory) was 200/1 for the Sellick job, and this was ridiculous as he only wants to be a No.2 anyway...
