  1. I don't think that's necessarily the case with Hewitt though. Ferguson has famously said before that he even contemplated taking Hewitt back off again in Gothenburg. I do think he was a cracking player in his own right, very tricky and knew where the goal was. I also believe he was only 16/17 when he made his debut for us which shows how much quality he had too. His chip against the huns at ibrox in the game that had the pitch invasion was outstanding.

Uncomfortable in what way? Trains from the 1920's and such like? How long will the delay be? I'm grateful for any information at all!
  5. There's such a tired inevitability about this that you have to imagine any slim chance of a new contract has now disappeared altogether.

there's four of us going for the whole three weeks but there will be girlfriends coming out for a weekend or two throughout and some other mates will be joining us in Budapest and Prague.

We're doing the rail trip round central/eastern Europe in August/Sept for three weeks and will be stopping in Novi Sad for a couple of days after your recommendation in the thread I started on it. Can't quite remember the whole route but it's something like this: Fly to Budapest and after a few days on to Bratislava>Vienna>Prague>Krakow>back to Budapest for a day or so>Belgrade>Novi Sad>Zagreb and possibly finishing in Ljubljana, there may also be the option of going into Northern Italy if we have time/money etc. Can't wait for it to be honest, should be mega.
  8. showed you him scoring against the Dons. MOTD2 can fuck off, too.
  9. Wonderful footballer. Shite person.
  10. aye, did you see him on Soccer AM yesterday? Jesus fuck, he's a wife/child beating cunt and shouldn't be given the time of day.
  11. Indeed. I think we were a better side with both JDV and Touzani in there, and yet both were sold just as they were becoming consistently good players for us.
  12. Don't pretend you don't know it Al!! Nurses night, eh? Yeah, I know!!!
  13. Was on a night out last night and a couple of the lads ended up kipping at mine, both Dons fans. Had a cracking night and got loads of munchies etc at the petrol station, got back to mine and more beers/vodka appeared and the night ran into about 8 this morning. But, when we got back I stuck on Team of the Decade. I made the point that I believe that John Hewitt was one of the best strikers and one of the best finishers I've ever seen in a red top and that his "Super Sub" tag actually belittles him. Obviously his goals v Bayern and Real are his greatest legacy, but Hewitt could really play and my mates eventually agreed - I think footage of the 85 league cup final (he set up two) and the 86 Scottish Cup Final (scoring two from the start) kind of swayed them. I was pretty sad when he left, and supposedly he was too. But do you think Hewitt deserves more credit as a brilliant forward, rather than just a "Super Sub"?
  14. You've clearly had too much already! randomly hitting letters on the keyboard like that....
  15. Friday night would be ace. Carry out on the train up there, smash them 4-0 (at least!) then back home in time for the MILFS at Oran Mor's nightclub? You know it makes sense Al....
  16. Same here, that guy knew how to play football.
  17. I move on anyway because it's not the be all and end all in my life, does that mean i'm then happy or even content with it? It doesn't change my opinion. It may just mean that my anger has subsided a bit (as it clearly has done since the QF).
  18. So your gripe with folk liking English sides is that those English sides may win something? Crikey. So how does that work exactly? Be continually shite all you like, because as soon as you are, it's in the past and we'll forget about it? Really? Sorry, it doesn't work like that for me, surprisingly enough. I dearly wish we get Europe. If we get it I'll be up celebrating all night, no doubt. That doesn't mean I should be happy with our lot though.
  19. I think you'll find he did. You're right, it is a cup competition, anything can happen. But for the same shitey thing to happen three seasons on the spin? That's not luck (on the good or the bad side of it). As much as you may wish to kid on to yourself, if you're a top level club going out on penalties to a lower league side, that is still shite, whether it's on penalties or not. You can laugh at the "JMG" mob all you want (and we all do, of course), and laugh at the guys on here who have English teams (do you not have an Italian one?), but you can't argue that Calderwood's record in the cups isn't fucking diabolical. Believe it or not, that happens to hurt a few of us on here. Don't have a go at us for that. Cheers.
  20. You're obviously fingering (or trying to) some sort. Yeah?
  21. Cracking player. I know that on occassion he failed to perform, so to speak, but when he did he was unbelievably brilliant. His performance against Hertha at home is still one of the best individual performances I've seen in a Dons shirt in almost 30 years. In fact it was so good, Simmie said Bisco would have walked into the Gothenburg side ahead of him or Cooper. (My money's on Cooper )
  22. Tell me where the relationship is FJ. I don't get that. Are Everton now the equal of Dunfermline and Queens Park? And we're Man Utd? Queens Park, for fucks sake, seriously? Jesus wept.
