  1. 2-1, Kenneth for the Jute wanks. Another one will do just nicely, thanks.
  2. United missed a pen, too.
  3. That's a nice touch, I'm sure it will be well appreciated.
  4. That's true, but is also sidestepping the issue of his cup record. It is, for the moment, the only realistic chance of silverware our club has, and our club badly needs silverware too. He has consistently and catastrophically under-achieved in this area. We should not and can not fear change. I know that you're right about previous appointments, but JC was a good appointment and I think WM deserves the credit for appointing the right guy to stabilise us and then kick us on (of which, JC deserves a lot of praise). So why shouldn't we have faith in WM making another shrewd appointment? I think we've stagnated and I think change will do the whole club good. To stick with him out of fear of what may come, when so many things just don't seem right under his stewardship is no way forward in my opinion. If that's the way it works, how long do we give it? Until he's driven away another couple of thousand fans from the home games? Until he's "lost the dressing room"? Hindsight is wonderful of course, but we do have to gamble at times. I agree about attracting good players like those above and the likes of Kerr, McDonald and Aluko too and again he should be praised for that. He has also made some baffling choices in the transfer market and while I appreciate that if you continually shop in the 99p store you will pick up a lot of crap as well as a bargain or two, some of his decisions have just been plain bonkers. Regarding the "finishing what he started", we probably won't know when it's finished until it's too late and we're hitting the skids. I have a feeling that this may have happened already. Of two of our biggest players, Severin is uninterested, Smith is perenially injured and there is generally a stale look to that side now. He has said he may only bring in one player in the summer. That terrifies me. That team needs major work done on it, if he can't see it there's something wrong.
  5. It's passed the point of no return for me now. I want him out in the summer for a number of reasons, but most of all because I see the relationship between the club and fans disintegrating if he's kept on and the long term damage that could do is huge.
  6. Too true. It shows the level of feeling amongst the support, there's nothing wrong with a protest, but the mechanics of this one are a little strange.
  7. You'd better believe it. REEKIE! look away now... Soldiers, are we.....
  8. TIOCFAIH AR LA!!! Sorry! wrong site!
  9. I like it. You've clearly thought this through. You can be "Events Co-ordinator". I'll make some banners, or something...
  10. I'd like to see Adamski re-instated. In fact, I may protest outside Pittodrie before the Caley match, so if anyone wants to join in, we'll be meeting at the Broadhill around 12, k?
  11. Good points ST. I remember the protests outside the front door when Smiffy was on the brink. That was after a game, and folk went round because they'd just seen us lose another game we shouldn't have lost and the blood was pumping and the adrenaline was going. Would the sense of urgency have been there before the match? Not a chance. And I actually think their protest, if it does occur, may whimper out into a few "Get tae fuck Jimmy" and "Jimmy Isn't God!" type chants. If they do it, and we win, they may look rather stupid should any press or media pick up on it. If they do it, and we win, and they still get their wish, as ST says, it could turn potential employees away from us. In saying that, if they do it, and we win, they can do it every fucking week as far as I'm concerned if it means we win!
  12. They were cold as fuck!! Glad they replaced them (although only been in the Merkland a few times since they did)
  13. Absolute rubbish, basically. The "whole point of the cup" is not that the lower league teams try harder. Even if they do try harder, if we play at our best we should still win, so what's the excuse now? You're trying to defend the indefensible.
  14. He doesn't say it! He does later say that Rocket_Scientist is a prick after he blanked WM at the Gothenburg dinner...
  15. It's all more or less what he had to say. Did anyone expect him to come out and say "yer right, I'm sacking the balloon in the summer"?
  16. The best yet! I really like Mark McGhee, and I think he talks a lot of sense and is generally worth listening to, but the above is a crock of shit. Some on here have used a similar argument in the past - he's a manager of an SPL club ergo he automatically knows better than any of us. That's bollocks. Big fat hairy bollocks. Whether you're a manager, a player or a fan, it all comes down to opinion. If 4,000 fans at Motherwell agree with George Peat and stop going to the matches, would Mark McGhee or John Boyle question their ability to judge the qualities in our game or those lacking from it? I doubt it. "Football people" use this excuse when it suits them, they allude to a "greater knowledge", all of which is the aforementioned bollocks. Their argument, as i've stated here before, implies that everyone "in football" would have the same opinion. We know that's not the case, so why do they try to perpetuate it? Because it suits them I suppose, a ready made answer to journalists, fans, directors and chairmen when they don't share their view. the game in Scotland is dire. The fact there are dire games in England's top flight and second tier is totally irrelevant and doesn't make our game any less dire. McGhee is right about Setanta covering matches at "lower end" games, it gives the impression that Scottish Football is, as the Guardian's Fiver email calls it, The Euro Disney League. It does give a bad impression of the league. But it's also a fair reflection of the league, unfortunately. It's reality and games have to be covered as part of the contract. But, it's worthwhile to note that it's not just those games that bring the league down. The "biggest game in the world" and therefore the league, has been a fucking borefest, particularly this season. So what chance does the league have then? Not much, I'd wager.
  17. Did anyone here catch the Wales v Finland match? Markus Heikkinen was playing and it brought home how good a player he was for us. That guy knows how to play football, just wish he was still with us... quality in midfield and at the back, composed on the ball, could pass, tackle, head and read the game superbly well. And to think Steve Paterson didn't want to sign him (Duncan Shearer insisted he did).
  18. There is a real sense of exasperation in the article from Grant, and unfortunately an air of resignation that nothing will change. Saddens me to say it, but it's exactly how I feel just now.
  19. Although sacking him will cost us money, keeping him may cost us more in the long run. Not reaching cup finals, not getting into Europe, tying up players like Derek Young on contracts (I appreciate that he's probably amongst the lower earners) is costing us. The financial situation is going to be a burden on us for the forseeable future, but there does come a point where you have to gamble;where you just can't let things trundle on as they are just because things aren't as bad as they used to be. The big worry for me is he keeps his job, season ticket sales plummet and we then have our annual disasterous start to the season and then the board act and sack him. By the time they get a new guy in he's working with players whom he may not want and can't get his own ones in and the deadwood out because the window has closed. JC has said in the paper today that he and Willie Miller "decided not to criticise the fans" in the wake of this open letter. By saying that he is effectively criticising the fans, for nothing more than having an opinion and a bit of passion about the club. We all know JC's PR skills are limited, but how does he think comments like that will help his position at the club? I also worry that if he keeps his job, the tide will have turned so much against him that the boo-boys in our support become more vocal and even less patient with the lads on the pitch. That's the last thing we need.
  20. Paid for the KKK-Chat server for a month.
  21. Jesus wept. The fact someone doesn't say it to your face, Jimmy, doesn't make it any less the truth.
  22. 5. Convincing high profile (for Scotland) players to sign for us, like Severin, Smith, Lovell, Miller, Nicholson, Kerr when most could probably have headed south for more money.
  23. He's going to the scotland game on saturday, whoever theyre playing.
