  1. The thing is though, if they don't make a big deal of it, if they continue to say it was only "disappointing" and not the fucking monumental disaster it actually was, a good finish in the league glosses over it all and new contracts will be handed out to Messrs Smith and Severin, and a P45 will not be issued to Messrs Calderwood, Clark and Nicholl. That's where it is now. Party politics.
  2. Wouldn't say they're awful. They know how to get results, not very pleasing on the eye though.
  3. That's what i thought, Smith must want JC to stay otherwise that contract he'll probably get could be nowhere to be seen.
  4. I don't think I've read him praising him at all this season, but then I don't read it every week so, ye know...
  5. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else on here - apologies if it has - but rather than start another new thread on the subject, thought it would fit in well here. It's from the P&J and is presumably Chris Chrighton's weekly article:
  6. Fair minded people do consider the bigger picture, unfortunately the bigger picture also takes into account our appalling cup record. Sweetchuck got it pretty much spot on for me. Anytime there is a smidgen of responsibility admitted by him, it is followed by a series of "buts". The pitch last Wednesday may well have been stamina sapping, but it's the same for both sides, is it not? If he's still there in the summer, I really do worry about the effect on our attendances next season and in particular the number of season tickets sold. It may be the only thing that makes Milne take action.
  7. I'm more than used to it. That's the problem.
  8. He was exceptional last season, no doubt about that. Seems to have concentration problems as well as a crumbling spine. It would really be to United's advantage if O'Shea, Ferdinand and Evra would stop trying to out-spastic each other. I don't think it's anything to do with Rafa's rant - Vida's was an automatic red, as was Scholes, I'm not entirely sure about Rooney's right enough. And both penalties were stonewallers.
  9. Was some finish by Gera but Ferdinand was miles off him, what the fuck was he playing at? I know there was the possibility of the ball going to the back post but in the situation you have to get touch tight to the guy at the front and gamble that should the ball go to the back post that VDS will cut it out. Ferdinand has been pish for ages and he really has to get his finger out. Vidic was panned for his performance last week (and rightly so, he had a mare) but where was Rio then? He has to step forward and take more responsibility. As for Ronaldo, what a whingeing cunt he is and again didn't kick his arse yesterday. Watched the game on Setanta Ireland and Lou Macari was giving him pelters all day which was actually quite comical.
  10. BigAl, those Barcodes are in a cunt of a situation now, eh? Could all have been different had Martins penalty not come out of the Scott Severin Penalty Manual. Think they'll survive?
  11. Retard I think. If you get past the shite at the start, he does make some valid points, amazingly enough.
  12. Man Utd one down at half time at Fulham and lucky it hasn't been more. Scholes sent off for deliberate handball on the line and Murphy scored the resultant penalty. United have been fucking woeful, only Park, VDS and Fletcher get pass marks. The rest have been truly awful. started with Rooney and Tevez on the bench and have just looked far too pedestrian.
  13. Writing a letter to the club cos the goalkeeper's kicking isnt great? Fuck me, they must have been inundated with mail when Jim Leighton played for us all those years...
  14. I honestly don't think he'd take it. Reading his book and certain press stories etc he is not interested in heading back there at all. I have to say, I'm more than willing to see how it works out with another manager below him, will be interesting to see what they think of him. JC speaks highly of him and he's done well in the main i reckon.
  15. Because a striker acts and reacts on instinct, where it requires no thought. You've watched football for a long time, I believe Jute, and you've not realised this?
  16. I'm not sure, it wouldn't have taken a lot of cash to lure him there in the first place. Maybe not though. If you don't ask, you don't get though, do you?
  17. That's a fair shout EP, never thought of him at all.
  18. Did he not get the tin tack from Aalborg? If JC was to leave, I'd rather have a clean sweep and totally start a fresh with someone from outside.
  19. Again, I don't disagree with the sentiment there at all as I dislike that element as much as anyone else here. I just find it rather trite of them to come out with this after such a fucking disasterous result.
  20. So everyone has to stifle their frustrations just so the poor wee lambs don't get upset? They're adults for christ's sake and professionals to boot. It's a bridge too far to be banging on about the fans on this occassion, in my opinion.
  21. I don't agree with booing the players, but that's beside the point I suppose. Booing at half time is crap, and it must get to them, but they weren't being booed in the first half...so what's their excuse then? You would also hope that at least some of them would have the attitude "I'll show them" or that maybe some of them would realise "I'm getting booed cos i'm not doing enough" etc. The points you make are valid enough, no denying that. It still comes down to this though: We had 210 minutes of football against a side who are inferior in quality and we are now out the cup. We're not out the cup because some folk chose to boo. Look at the support we had at East End Park, and they still didn't do the business there either. So who will get the blame for that?
