  1. Sorry, that doesn't wash. If that's true we must have the biggest collection of "sensitive wee souls" ever.
  2. Smooth said:
  3. I totally agree with you. Someone said that they didn't care about the Scottish Cup... maybe it's just been too long since we won it and forgotten how good a feeling it is. In the world of football, there is nothing better seeing the Dons lift a cup.
  4. Mackie was injured. Smith would have hit the fifth one. Duff, Severin, Mulgrew and Foster all said they wanted to hit one and volunteered to do so.
  5. I'm presuming he's talking about the fans as the ones getting restless? So it's the fans fault now, is it? I fucking doubt that.
  6. That's a bit paranoid mate. Even if they did, they wouldn't have had cause to if we had managed to beat Dunfermline. That's what it boils down to.
  7. Can't disagree with the sentiment here at all but unfortunately it appears that there are certain players that JC just doesn't trust enough, and most of them seem to be the youngsters. Could also add in Tommy Wright to that and Touzani and JDV before they left. The flip side of the coin would be that he has blind faith when it comes to certain "senior" players regardless of form or their inability to complete the basics properly and while 3rd place is still on, I just can't see him changing any of that.
  8. No, he's saying it's just one guy's opinion, and there's politics in it as well. For example, should Tom Boyd or Tosh McKinlay have been picked ahead of David Robertson? Of course not, the whole of Scotland knew that apart from the one gimp who mattered apparently. Bowman, Galloway, peter Grant, MacKay, all got caps ahead of Brian Grant, you trying to tell me any were better than him just cos that twat Roxburgh thought so? Then there's the case of Russell Anderson... try and tell me with a straight face that Caldwell and McManus and Weir and the rest of the clowns were better defenders than Cadger....
  9. So you don't see his point that the fact those two clowns are in the Scotland squad shows that the opinion of the Scotland Manager isn't necessarily a great yardstick of talent? That's all he was saying, not that what we have is necessarily better than that currently being picked for the national sides.
  10. Are there no other left or right backs around? Just McAllister, Clubfoot and Aberdeen's options?
  11. Even if you have "better options"? Seve used to hit our pens on a regular basis. As I said, Duncan Shearer's penalties were garbage. Consisted of him leathering the ball straight down the middle and the keeper would save it. Was he not a striker "worth his salt" because of that?
  12. Yeah, wish we'd thought of that sooner, let's go out and get one!
  13. But the fact you or anyone else here think there's no real alternative surely doesn't mean we stick with something that essentially isn't working properly? I can understand your point, but I don't think this can be used as an excuse to stick with him anymore.
  14. Yip, Jack Black I think it was. Said when we went out to the huns in the league cup quarter final after E.T that he knew we would go out as not enough of the players believed in themselves and were very sceptical re sports psychology. Basically said it was a waste of time with that particular group of players.
  15. That would be akin to taking some responsibility! he wasn't happy. At half time he said something along the lines of "I've seen Darren Mackie play for years now, he gives you a lot of energy but nowhere near enough goals or quality" then stifled a laugh as it showed you a replay of the chance in the first min.
  16. Indeed, but it would be nice if he fucking did at least some of it!
  17. maybe, but he was Co-Manager with us, and not assistant. I fear it would be Jim Jefferies or Bobby Williamson though anyway. That would be fucking hellish.
  18. Is he a piss poor manager? Look at what happened to us when he left.
  19. Should we sack JC he won't be compensated for the full amount of time left on his contract, only a portion of that, I believe. This still may make things prohibitive as far as making a move for McGhee goes, right enough. A lot of what happens could come down to fan and media pressure. Back in the day there would have been a baying mob outside the front door after a result like last night's. It's perhaps indicative of the apathy amongst our support now that this didn't happen. How the local media in particular react to this may also dictate whether he stays or goes. If they turn against him the fans will become more vocal in their protests, when that happens, Milne and Miller will have no choice in my opinion.
  20. Aye, even the huns in here haven't tried to wind me up about it. It must be bad.
  21. I think there's a real catch 22 situation here. If we finish the season strongly and get 3rd, it may paper over the cracks and he may be allowed to continue. If we finish poorly he'll almost definitely be punted but none of us want to finish poorly.
  22. And if you ask Willie Miller and Charlie Nicholas they'll both tell you he was the best coach they worked under. That's a fair shout actually, only thing I reckon may put him off is the comparisons with his Dad's time at the club.
  23. MacDonald has been a huge loss for us, no doubt about that. The midfield is too static without him.
