  1. In/Out: Out Pre Match: work til 6, offy, flat Match: My Flat Post Match: My Flat Prediction: 3-1 and the huns upstairs from me getting thoroughly fucked off with my celebrating COME ON YE REDS!
  2. Oh yeah, it was excellent that night, no doubt about it and without sounding arrogant we knew that if we won, we would win the cup. But it still had nothing on the old Hampden. The terracing was so steep and vast, and that's totally gone now. When a chance was created you'd feel the crowd surge forward and you'd just have to go with it. When we scored you'd end up about twenty yards from where you started, that's a real bounce! I never think of that 95 game with the same fondness as I do with Mason scoring in 89, Theo saving the pen in 90 or even Ian Cameron's semi final winner v the tims in 89, and I think a lot of that is to do with the stadium and the atmosphere not being as electric in 95. I know what you mean, but the whole day was just horrible. The huns all dressed in orange, smug cunts to a man. We were all pretty optimistic before the game, and that was just ripped from us. We had organised a big night out for after the game regardless of the score. After the match, every one of us just went home, we were all just so fucked off with it all. I'd bought a few cans on the way home, thinking "i might as well just get pished", couldn't even bring myself to drink them, think i was in bed for about 9 that night. Horrible, horrible day.
  3. Well, I was at the League Cup Finals of 89 and 92, and the Scottish Cup Final of 1990 as well as the Cup Semi of 95 (the only Dons game i've missed at Hampden since 1989 was QOTS as I was on holiday). 95 was good, but to be fair, it was only bouncing in our end cos we were beating the huns. We could have played that game on the ash pitches at Toryglen behind Hampden and you would still have found it bouncing. Compared to the stadium it was, it is rotten. I also went to the Scotland-Argentina game in 1989/90 when McKimmie scored the winner, and was at two Euro qualifiers for 96, so I'd say I'm well placed to judge. Hate is a very strong word. They make me cringe in a way that only Paul McCartney as well asRobo's posts about Liverpool come close to. They adhere to stereotypes about this country and make me want to vomit, to be honest. The conga thing was, in my mind, the tartan army attitude coming into our support. We were 4-0 down to our most hated rivals, our legendary goalkeeper had had his head staved in by one of the vermin and you class that as a good bounce? I felt like crying, not doing a conga. Each to their own, and all that, but that was the second worst day of my Aberdeen supporting life. Only 11 May 1991 eclispses it.
  4. It's called humility...
  5. FLID! ps WHAT THE FUCK IS FLID???
  6. Aye, it's not like ye...
  7. For fucks sake, how did i know you'd take that post personally? I never said you were making him a boo boy target. Get a fucking grip, eh? Cheers.
  8. Yeah, you're right Ajja, he was playing midfield and by all accounts doing pretty well, which was a shock, cos i was sure he had signed for us in a Stoney exclusive.....
  9. How's that then? I've always thought she was borderline special needs...
  10. Thought he was excellent at Paisley then scored a great goal in the cup last week. Maybe, just maybe, he had an off day.... He is a young guy who clearly loves playing football, to the point that, as Ajja says, it looks as though he actually runs himself into the ground at times. And, it would be awfully nice now and again to see his team mates help him out. The biggest fear I have with Aluko is that he's the next target of the boo boys. Our fans are so impatient and we were all so happy - and rightly so - when he signed permanently for us, that I can actually see people getting pissed off with the guy now cos he's not ripping the cunt out of the Bayern defence before slotting in every single week. I know a lot of folk on here say that Jamie Smith is our best player, but I'd say it's Aluko. The guy's potential is huge, and I'd certainly pay to watch him play ahead of Smith and that's no slight on Smith. But we need to be patient with the guy, especially when he's being shunted from winger to striker and back again.
  11. Just in time for midweek!!
  12. Aye, he's been pish, believing his own hype. A proper "Big time charlie", so to speak.
  13. I always think Carrick is better with Fletcher beside him, and prefer Anderson with Scholes.
  14. Foster still in the bad books, possibly?
  15. Vida had a few poor moments, I think Evra's been poor for a while now as has Carrick. The sending off, well, can't complain about that, wonder if Rafa will still be moaning about Fergie and refs though. I'd said to a mate a while ago that I had a feeling that when United's unbeaten run was going to go, it was going to go in style, so to speak. Just wish I hadn't been right and wish it hadn't been against those classless cunts. Two victories now this season that United have handed Liverpool on a plate. Unbelievable. It should still be United's title. Still theirs to throw away, really. If you're a bindipper though, you must be asking questions of how you can beat both United and Chelsea twice and still be way off the pace?
  16. Really think United need to change it. Maybe Fletcher into midfield instead of Anderson.
  17. I see, I was only told about it from a hun in work who is taking us on his coupon due to that fact.
  18. Supposedly Hamilton have 9 players out.
  19. Aye, and if JC goes three at the back and we don't win (as we generally don't when we go with that) you'd be calling him for everything!
  20. Pundits are generally lazy when it comes to describing anything. Bobo is right, don't take what these guys say as gospel... Trevor Francis tried telling people a few months ago that Raul and Guti were right footed, for example... They say the first thing that enters their minds, which is often about as banal as you can get.
  21. If we were challenging for 2nd, surely we'd then be challenging for the league title as there's only 3 points difference at the top (I think)?
  22. Ask BigAl, I think he was there.
  23. Aye, that was me. In fact, you described me as "stocky". I'm 6ft 2!!! That's not stocky! Cheeky bastard! I was going to say hello but i wasn't certain it was the "fatjim brothers", i'm more alarmed that was El Padre next to you!!
  24. Cos it's shit. It's a soulless craphole and is not a patch on it's former self.
