Should have hooked what? Or what level of English did you fail? -
Derek Young signs on for another 2 years.

We don't have it anywhere. I can see your point here and it's almost the case that we cant challenge it. But the problem with that is that the young players are few and far between. I doubt, and I seriously do doubt for a number of reasons that Derek Young is considerably better than "the best" of our youth products. Whether you're a JMG-er or not, it must worry you that so few of our youth products have had a chance in the first team. In fact, looking back, he is the manager who has least promoted our youth system out of them all. Porterfield through to Paterson used it, but he basically hasn't. That is a worry. We know it's been overhauled, but it surely hasn't been as negligent as that...? In fact, we know it hasn't, as we have Paton, Pawlett and Crawford from it. I fear he won't use them. -
I heard it was cos he took two bottles into the shower...

My thoughts exactly! I had a game of golf cancelled last April due to snow! Leave it as it is and tell Motherwell to get their act together re their pitch.

Playmakers.

Zidane said that Moravcik is the best "No.10" he ever played against which is certainly some compliment. The De Boers would have played in a WC semi final, and possibly missed a penalty or two as well . I think Numan and van Bronckhorst would also have played in that one. Larsson also played in a WC Semi Final. But then, so did Kiriakov and Tzvetanov...

You not thinking of Eric Black?
-
ME, CUNTO!!! I heard you were Darren Mackie's accountant.... eh?
-
I am more than happy to hear that.
-
I think you should maybe calm down.

I think JimmyJimmy knows more than he's letting on re Ricky Foster's disappearance. He's trying to deflect the focus away from Ricardinho.... When was the last time you saw Ricky Foster, JimmyJimmy...?

Very possible mate, but there was absolutely no reason for them to be wiped. if the person who wiped them was offended by them it may be an idea for them to either get a grip or not to post, if that's what offends them, ye know? But to wipe posts of others when there's no need is abusing powers. This isn't KKK....

Why have I had posts deleted in this thread?

I think we have to be cool about this period. Hearts play United, so at least one of them will drop points. Let's not put pressure on ourselves. We're fucking great anyway and we'll do well in this period. Maybe not full points, but I reckon not far from it. Fingers crossed. COME ON YE REDS!!!

Speak for yourself! I've already given you mine! he doesn't want to play with oor Darren. Although, there is another rumour going about that the tanning salons in Aberdeen had ran out of JC's favourite tanning milk, so he sent his speediest of players down to Dundee to pick some more up. He got back to Pittodrie by the second half, but he was a bit knackered.
-
Aye? You've not mentioned it...
-
I have it on good authority that he refuses to be paid to play in the same team as "barron (sic) mackie"...
-
I hope he recommends to the club that lad Trialist, he gets about a bit but knows where the goal is. He's been about for years too.

Aberdeen: Langfield, Mair, Mulgrew, Diamond, Severin, Kerr, Mackie, Vidal, Miller, Maguire, Aluko. subs: Wright, Bossu, Young, Duff, Paton, Stewart and Crawford. Dundee United: Zaluska, Grainger, Wilkie, Dods, Caddis, Feeney, Sandaza, Robertson, Gomis, Kovacevic, Bauben. Official website says Foster has just dropped out of the squad altogether, no mention of an injury.

I'd take Jocky Scott back, definitely. Not sure about Smith, things went pear shaped when Scott left us. I like Alex Smith (our supporters bus used to leave from his pub and he's a good guy), but he's not done much since he left us. Not that Scott has set the heather alight either, but Willie Miller and Charlie Nicholas said he was the best coach they'd worked under which surely counts for something.

They'll probably be utter pish even if they do!

Alex Smith & Jocky Scott Willie Miller Ian Porterfield Jimmy Calderwood Roy Aitken Ebbe Skovdahl Steve Paterson Alex Miller Not sure about Porterfield and Calderwood, would maybe swap them around. Porterfield had better players at his disposal of course. He bought a shower of shite in Jones, Hackett and Edwards but also brought in Peter and Charlie Nicholas (the biggest and most exciting signing at Aberdeen in my lifetime). He also integrated Brian Grant, Paul Wright and Stevie Gray more in the side which was another positive for him. But he was far too reliant on his back five. Seemed to have the attitude that as we had the best back five in the league (think Leighton held the shut out record in 87-88) that was enough to see us through but it wasn't and the football was often low on entertainment value. Calderwood has been a good manager for us mostly, but the lack of a final and losses to lower league sides blot his record but to think where we were before him he has done very well to not only steady the ship but improved us greatly. However, we do need to keep improving, a trophy would shift him up that table. Smith & Scott had a very good side and made some excellent signings, and the football we played under them was excellent. They also won us the cup double, and should have added at least one league title to that too. Willie Miller's side played probably the best football I've seen from any Aberdeen side, particularly in his first full season. We also should have won the league under him and at least one of the cups. It was sad that his tenure ended the way it did, but he did have the unenviable task of replacing veterans like McLeish, Bett and Connor. Aitken won us a trophy, but his side became so shambolically bad that it is impossible to look back on his time with any warmth at all. Spent an awful lot of money too for very little in return. Paterson and Miller can just fuck off. Simply horrific.

Agree with you there Kow, and I had a lot of time for Ebbe, met him on several occassions, always remembered my name etc and was a complete gent. The one thing I'd say in his defence was that Alex fucking Miller had ripped the heart and soul from our club the previous season. The playing staff that was left was really dreadful so he didn't have much to work with. We also did improve every season under Ebbe but there was always an undercurrent of fragility with us (it could be argued that it's still there).

well if you wish to count them as to how prolific a striker is, I'd suggest it skews the results somewhat. As an aside, Duncan Shearer, hans Gillhaus, Eric Black, Mark McGhee, Frank McDougall all have impressive records at Aberdeen. None of them hit penalties on a consistent basis.
