My mate text this morning saying that Radio Scotland announced that Zander could be out for up to a year with an achilles injury. Anyone heard anything? EDIT: From BBC Gossip Column:
-
Surely a one year deal indicates that even the management team are not overly convinced about this?
-
You would though, eh?
-
You're not wrong. I generally watch it to wind down from work while acknowledging it's utter shite, but it's hit unbelievably new depths of shite recently. The bits at the beginning are cringeworthy. I really wish the McQueens would fuck off, not one of them can act and not one of them looks like Gordon.
-
Indeed. It's a fucking licence to print money. I really hate TicketBastard but it seems they run the world these days, which is a bit shit.

Marco Negri - truth behind leaving Rangers
BobbyBiscuit replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Football Chat
Nice one Reekie. Would be very interesting to see if any of the Scottish papers pick up on this and print it in full. -
Was he centre mid yesterday, Mizer?

Langfield, Foster, Diamond, Severin, Mulgrew, Young, Vidal, Kerr, Miller, Mackie, Duff. Subs: Bossu, Wright, Maguire, Considine, Stewart, Pawlett and Paton Aluko is ill or injured apparently. If subs are needed late in the game, it'd be nice to see Paton, Pawlett or Stewart get a chance.

Slight problem with that, which I just discovered last night... it doesn't have the final episode of the series on it. There's 13 episodes, only 12 on On Demand. To say i was sick is an understatement!
-
Yeah, he was. Midfield was generally Connor on the left, Bett and Grant in the middle, Mason on the right. Connor infuriated me at the time, and he got a lot of stick from the fans too. I've actually got a game on tape against Hibs at home and Connor is booed by the Dons fans every time he gets the ball. He was a skillful player but he was a pansy, hence the Bobby's Blouse thing in the Northern Light.
-
Lovely passer of the ball, bit of a hard nut, scored a fair few goals, hated the huns, loved Genesis. Still, 4 out of 5 aint bad, eh? The tackle that led to his red card v the huns at Pittodrie was a thing of beauty. Also remember him scoring a last minute winner at Dens when we were right on the tails of the huns, Dens was packed with Dandies... the place was rocking when that went in, one of my favourite moments of that 92-93 season.
-
The Sopranos is the best thing I've ever watched on TV. Get the box sets, you won't regret it.
-
He was a cracking player, used to take corners from both sides, using his right or left... how many players nowadays could do that? I remember going to a lot of games late 80's, early 90's and Jazzer used to take a bit of a doing from the fans at times, mainly cos he came across as a bit lazy as he had a very languid playing and running style. Mackie should maybe keep that in mind The midfield partnership of him and Grant was the best I've seen at Pittodrie, absolutely perfect foils for each other. They could both pass and could both tackle, Bett obviously the silkier of the two. Add into that Paul Mason and guys like Gillhaus, Nicholas, Jess, Booth and Shearer at different times ahead of them... I'd give my right nut for that now.
-
Brilliant. Paul Mason was fucking excellent too.
-
I've got that game on DVD, some fantastic stuff on it. Mason's goal is a corker and Grant's pass, Mason's control and Booth's finish for the sixth is tremendous. Does it show you Bett tripping Tosh McKinlay up with his hand on RedTV? That was excellent, McKinlay is a fucking knob.
-
They also do "The Corner" eh? Caught a bit of that on FX the other night and a few of the actors from the Wire were in that too.
-
I was watching Underbelly, was really enjoying it but then missed one episode and lost the thread of the whole thing! So I gave up and will just get it on DVD I think.
-
Do you have to watch them in order, or could i skip 2 and go on to 3 straight away?
-
Will definitely give them a go...I'm also on my third watching of the Sopranos from start to finish, amazing the things you pick up that you missed the first time around that are actually quite important.
-
I've mostly been watching the first series of The Wire through Virgin's On Demand service. This programme has been hyped up a lot and I really fancied it, but can't say i'm overly impressed with it. It's good enough to watch it through to the end, but there is a real cheesy feel to some of it... ie the maverick cop, the cop who has been stashed away in some back office for 20 years but it turns out he's Bergerac, Columbo and Crocket & Tubbs all rolled into one, and some of the writing is a bit too stereotypical Yank cop drama fare. Has anyone watched the later series' at all?

Mark McGhee - future Aberdeen manager?
BobbyBiscuit replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I can add nothing to that. -
Not sure if this has been posted in this thread or elsewhere or not at all, but it said in last week's Sunday Herald that JC was now rather tentative on a new contract for Smith. He has told the player that he must prove his fitness by the end of the season otherwise there will be no offer from us. Common sense prevails, it seems.

I completely agree with this and made a half arsed attempt at saying so earlier in the thread about the Falkirk game when we were discussing JC going with 3 at the back. There's no other way round it, myself and a couple of others were moaning about the 3 at the back, and that isn't to say I wanted our manager hung, drawn and quartered for it, but it's a legitimate gripe. But it then appears we don't have any scope for criticising the guy because it appears to others we'd be better off on KKK. I fully accept that some folk will moan about the club from the smallest little things like the club shop was a bit stuffy when they were in it after the last home game and JC's shirt was outside his trousers while he was standing on the touchline and it shows a lack of self respect and self control , but most of the posters on this site are reasonable people most of the time. We all want the best for our club, that is inevitably going to bring about a few moans and that's the way it should be as long as it's structured and constructive. -
Craig Levein - future Aberdeen manager?

He should go and support his local team. -

It's all hypothetical at the minute anyway. And I'm pretty glad it is to be honest, don't think there's an outstanding candidate out there just now.
