  1. Don't agree that losing him is a bigger blow than losing Anderson. Russell was everything to that side, he got us out of trouble so many times, his commitment to the cause was unquestionable, something that I don't think could be applied to Seve 100% of the time. Don't get me wrong, I don't want Seve to leave and it is going to be a big loss to us. But there is no way I fear his departure in the same way as Russell's.
  2. I'd consider Mark Kerr as well as that big bam Zander. I was a wee bit surprised to see that Stuart Smith has been allowed to leave. I thought great things were expected of him? Or am I getting my Smiths mixed up?
  3. Begs the question, Jimmy, why the fuck did you sign him then?
  4. There is also the possibilty that the two of them could be weakened considerably if proposed moves for Driver, Berra, Stewart and Flood go through before next weekend.
  5. You may not have noticed, but Pittodrie is as a hole, on the whole. The Old Lady is definitely crumbling, but on days like yesterday I'd say that's where her soul is. (that's in no way a reference to Juventus... )
  6. South Stand has always = REAL fans.
  7. We learned our lesson, TF. We apologised and got back in the car. The funny thing is we only got stopped by the police twice on the way home...
  8. Useless cunts. We were in the car after the game on King street, taking fucking ages to get up the street as you can imagine. We heard this loud "THUD", looked behind us and some lad had been hit by a car. Wasn't serious but he was obviously fucking hurt (as you would be). Three coppers having a chinwag with each other, literally 3 yards away didn't hear it. But we heard it 5 yards away (my measurements were spot on...) inside a car with music on fairly loud. We had to get out the car to get the coppers to go and help the guy! they looked really fucked off about it too. Waste of space/wages. cunts.
  9. Yeah, agree with that. Mascherano and Alonso are cracking footballers too, but they have to have a gerrard and Torres in front of them for them to be effective. Torres' play for their goal today was lovely, very much the sort of thing you'd expect from Berbatov rather than Torres (that's not a slight on Torres), but it could only have been Gerrard from that team who went on to finish it.
  10. the guy is a brilliant player, what would they do without him though? 111 goals for Liverpool from midfield and he's still got a good few years left in him. I don't really mind Gerrard to be honest, seems a decent enough guy. Of course I like Jamie Carragher too (but I'm really just sayin that so he doesn't get his mates to batter me in a shopping centre )
  11. it was good yesterday. I've always been a "South Stand BooBoy" though, never been much of a fan of the Dick, so to speak...
  12. 1-1, Gerrard, fucking great goal, shite goalkeeping. what? One man team? No, wasn't me who said that....
  13. one nil everton, Joleon Lescott from a header. Cahill headered it on to him from a corner. awful marking by the dippers.
  14. Killie are fucking brutal. As is the Merseyside derby in the cup... Toffee Men should have had a pen, but as it was at the KOP end didn't get it. If they had, it'd only have been their second penalty at Anfield in 71 years...
  15. Indeed I do. He could still use the ball a hell of a lot better than the "whippets" in the team. I think part of the problem with people's perception of JDV was that he was described to us as a pacy, tricky winger by JC when he was signed. That was never the case, unless he lost his pace by running down to the chippie too often.
  16. GREAT FIRST POST TONY!
  17. I'm pretty disappointed about this. The guy clearly has ability and knows how to play the game (which sounds daft but a few of our players clearly don't), always seemed to be the scapegoat when Jimmy wanted to change things. Good luck to the guy, but I'm sad we didn't see more of him.
  18. A lovely little story there, thanks for that Stoney. A draw was about right, terrible game of football and if at least one (should be both) of mackie and foster are not dropped for next week I'd say it's pretty conclusive evidence that they are undroppable. Mackie tackling Mulgrew near the end was a particular low point. Severin had another cracking game at the back, as did Diamond. Also thought Miller's workrate was tremendous, think he's looking for a move?
  19. Was that a bid for a grand? (I saw it briefly then ebay fucked up for me)
  20. Of course, but the point still stands. The fact is the SPL is not as marketable, as glamorous as the EPL and that isn't opinion, it's just fact, unfortunately.
  21. Well maybe they are, but the fact is, the viewing figures would suggest that they're not, no?
  22. Why has no one else given them a chance in the SPL then? Cos they're shite. That's why.
  23. They were also "good enough" to lose 3-0 to Partick Thistle.
  24. Apparently, but not good enough to play at SPL level on a consistent basis, were they? Unless of course, you want us to be in the first division? (Which you probably do, give you something else to moan about)
  25. I didn't realise that it was only Man Utd matches that were on every week in England. What were the two Sky games on Sunday, Andrew?
