  1. Shat out of the challenge for their first goal. Played ok after that, but really, what's the point after you've let their most effective player waltz through because you're scared of getting a bit of a dunt?
  2. From the team selection being announced I knew we wouldn't win this. From watching the first 2 minutes i knew we'd lose without a fight. An absolutely disgraceful performance and the buck stops with McInnes. Overthought it again and lost again. He should be asked to explain today to the board and then the fans. That was abysmal. No heart, spirit or fight. Funny thing was that today on our way to the pub, we saw Ian Cameron out walking his dogs. Thought he was a decent player but he was pea-hearted and that let him down, ultimately. Well, Cameron has a bigger heart than Kenny McLean who I think is the biggest shitebag I've ever seen play professional football. A sorry excuse of a centre midfielder, should be released in January.
  3. Amsterdam's not going anywhere chief.
  4. Fishing, surely?
  5. Goodwillie?
  6. Both superb players. Grant's technique for the opener is absolutely brilliant. Outstanding goal. Great ball from Miller for McKimmie's run at the third, too.
  7. I would liked us to have gone for a scaled down version of Athletic Bilbao's new San Mames Was there last year for a game and thought it was a great stadium, kept the atmosphere in well.
  8. Izaguerre has to be targeted on Sunday - thought he looked poor at Pittodrie a few weeks ago and made some very poor decisions tonight, including getting far too close to Suarez and getting rolled for the penalty.
  9. One of my favourite matches, brilliant team; played with great pace. I have a feeling they were told before that game (and reminded again before the next league meeting between the sides that season) that Bonner was useless with anything around his feet!
  10. The Dons can be a turgid watch at times, but St Johnstone are even worse in that respect. Wright has done well at St J, but I don't think he'd be the right man for us when that time comes.
  11. Ironically, I believe it is called that.
  12. The tattoo artist in Saltcoats must be a millionaire going by that video. Jesus.
  13. I think DM's naturally cautious mindset will see an extra body in the middle - I wasn't at Inverness, was the line up closer to a 4-4-2? Whatever line up he picks, I just hope he tells them to go for it. No point sitting back, we need to take the game to them and use the full width of the pitch to get the most out of Hayes in particular. It wouldn't surprise me if Maddison is on the bench. I really hope he isn't though.
  14. Smith took over from Souness in 90-91 and very nearly blew a very comfortable lead in the league - we played better football for a fraction of the price. The next season, we were well out of it early on and Celtic as usual in those days weren't doing anything. Season after, they pip us in each competition, playing ugly, direct football with hatchet men in midfield. The next couple of seasons we're pish and the huns cakewalk it again, their riches way beyond everyone else's. Bar a season or two, Smith and the huns were sleep walking to titles. He couldn't not win considering how much they were cheating. Goes back to the huns, plays ugly, direct football with hatchet men in midfield. That is Walter Smith. Why this cunt is mentioned in the same breath as Fergie, Jim McLean, Stein... utter nonsense. (admittedly, mostly by the huns and the media in their pocket) But I suppose, if he gets your team winning*.... *hypothetical. I hate the cunt.
  15. That's surely not an unpopular opinion? I never saw Harper play but your comment goes without saying, I'd suggest. There are loads of Dons forwards I'd have ahead of Zerouali - maybe not as skilful as him, but certainly more effective.
  16. Think that's very harsh on marking Leighton down for pass backs. It wasn't about Leighton liking to come off his line - he was told by Miller and McLeish not to come off his line unless it was absolutely necessary. Think it's on the Willie Miller's 20 Aberdeen Greats in 20 Years video where McLeish says that the biggest concern for him and Miller was Theo being Dutch and a potential language barrier - "Would he understand 'Stay on your bleeping line, Theo' ". That's the way they worked. I adored Theo, but he was never as brave as Jim Leighton, and that's a huge thing for a keeper, especially in those days.
  17. Same. Although that was a pretty popular opinion of the time! Zero was a talented player but didn't show it often enough for me. Was beginning to get a bit of a run going when he broke his leg. But yeah, I think people are a tad OTT about him.
  18. This may be seen as harsh, but I always thought that was a bit of a cop out. In the run in to the 90-91 season, Irvine was dropped for a large part of that - McKimmie played at centre half with McLeish unless McLeish was suspended/injured (Hearts at Tynecastle springs to mind). McKimmie would have been a poorer option to Miller at cb as well, but I don't remember people having the same angst with McKimmie in there as with Irvine. McKimmie was obviously a vastly superior player to Irvine anyway, but it wasn't his natural position, but it was Irvine's.
  19. What opinions on the Dons have you held which have been generally against the grain within the Dons support? For example, I was never a fan of either Billy Dodds or Brian Irvine, but both had a lot of fans within our ranks. Didn't like Dodds because he frankly wasn't very good. Wasn't quick, not very good in the air, never seemed to strike the ball cleanly. He scored some very important goals for us which was great, but if he had scored even half the chances he should have scored in his first season, we'd have been challenging for the league not playing off to stay in the division. One of Willie Miller's biggest mistakes was continually sticking with Dodds, it ultimately went some way to his sacking. And paying St Johnstone £800,000 for him wasn't too wise either. Irvine - heart in the right place, but a pretty cumbersome player who was an accident waiting to happen - see 1993 Scottish Cup Final, for example. What are yours?
  20. That is our bus full. There is still plenty of room at the pub for other bus loads to come in before the match, 11am opening, if you are running a bus and fancy this, please drop me a note on here or on the email address above.
  21. Shall do dd, thanks
  22. Nice one Manc, thanks for that. If you can let me know if you're coming through, just so I can give the pub an idea of numbers so they get appropriate numbers of staff in, that'd be much appreciated.
  23. The bit with the flamingo's courtship dance was incredible, never seen anything like it.
  24. Good man, Donsdaft, thanks.
