  1. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/752896?UserKey=0 Looks like that's another "new signing" down.
  2. Oh my good god. That has to be a wind up.
  3. Yeah, I have. But the fact we don't get Maybury doesn't mean we can't get another right back, does it?
  4. Fuck him. Thought he was a cunt when he played for the diet huns, thought he was alright when he played with us, kind of indifferent as to his next move. signs for us - cool. doesn't - won't be losing any sleep over it. Hope he enjoys playing with Jamie McAllister...
  5. Well, I made the thread after i'd had a few drinks and as I said it was fresh in my memory cos I'd been talking to a couple of fellow Dons fans about it, that's all. It's not a crime, and if you're so fed up with it, why continue to post in it and keep the thread alive? I think as it's pre-season and there is transfer moves abound, it's a valid point to discuss him and whether we could get rid of him and indeed get someone better in. Why people have to act all hurt about it is beyond me.
  6. Don't disagree with that about the trialist, but apparently Mulgrew occasionally played centre half for Celtic Reserves, maybe JC was just wanting to see how he did there.
  7. Patrick Kluivert...
  8. Actually funny you mentioned Shearer and Gillhaus, everyone came back to my flat and we watched old DVDs of the Dons destroying everyone in sight in the late 80's and early 90's and the question was asked around the room, "Who'd you pick, Shearer or Gillhaus?" Personally I went for big Dunc, simply cos he could finish from anywhere, Gillhaus was the better footballer no doubt, but Big Dunc was something else. Anyway, I digress, Mackie's contract is up for renewal at the end of the season. People (myself included) have suggested he'll score loads to get a new contract, but lets face it, he won't. But he'll be here next season too, expecting a fucking testimonial. EFF EFF ESS. Football is shite these days.
  9. That's even after him saying that Duff wasn't a full back. Fucking frightening. But amazingly, we've finished every season under Calderwood strongly, and that's in spite of his fucking ridiculous tactical decisions. Have to say though, it does make me wonder what could have been...
  10. Aye, both liked a nice bit of plonk.
  11. Sorry to start a thread on this old chestnut, so to speak. Was out yesterday with a couple of good mates, both big, big Dons lads and inevitably the conversation for a few hours turns to the Dismal Dons. One of my mates got extremely worked up when discussing our strikers and Barren Mackie in particular. Myself and the other lad had a laugh at the anger it was building in our mate and when I thought about it, I completely agreed with the guy. I did offer the view that I've come to accept Barren at Pittodrie simply because he knows he's on to a good thing. He'll never ask to leave us and managers seem to like him simply because he runs about like a fucking moron. So, taking all that into consideration, I just think "meh, he's here and always will be so .... ye know". But, last season although he was injured for a lot of it, and although he scored a couple of very important goals, his return was fucking dire. With us signing another supposed target man (i'm presuming this cos Wright is a big fella), how the fuck can we expect to score goals next season? What do managers see in this clown? The fact he's been with us for years and no one (that i can think of apart from a shit united) has wanted to sign him says a fair bit.
  12. I'd normally agree with you Jager, but i think the manner of the defeat has upset people. You always get crap results pre-season, but 4-0 to peterhead is taking the piss. The one positive thing is that surely, surely he realises that defence should never be used again and that he may realise we need more reinforcements than he first imagined. Here's hoping, anyway.
  13. Don't agree with that about Bernard. When he was good he was very, very good. Bisconti was sent off in a 3-1 defeat at Tynecastle, also the day of his only goal for us.
  14. Stoney said on the hat:
  15. Not all the players you quoted on the hat weren't.
  16. Is this to go along with your constant posts on the hat about HAVING to replace guys who have left us but were never in any danger of getting a starting berth or even getting a game as a sub? But he did score it and we didn't finish 7th, so what's your point? If John Hewitt never scored against Bayern we would never have won the ECWC... but he did, and we did. What is the point in talking like that Stoney? You're talking about something that never happened and can never be changed. Give it up for fucks sake.
  17. Certainly wouldn't disagree with you there DD. It would lift the fans if nothing else.
  18. i'd thought about that Al! Have to say it grates on me the way people talk of Windass (and that cunt Dodds - Billy, not Davie) as if he was some sort of magicman. He wasn't, he was a very naughty boy to paraphrase someone. A good player who never produced in the big games for us, is how i'll remember his time with us. Liked a goal against Hearts though, which is never a bad thing.
  19. No way Windass should be classed with the other two. Cult hero, if ever there was one. Good player and all that, but i think some folk mistake the current and recent Windass for the one we had.
  20. Agree with this, too many people think the ball has to go forward at every opportunity. I think he'll bring a calming influence to the side, and hopefully his team mates begin to realise that we don't have to hoof it up the park at regular intervals.
  21. Hart and Buchan played midfield then.
  22. I wouldn't complain but I'd be indifferent. Strange looking girl, it has to be said.
  23. Signed for Dundee according to folk on the hat.
