    Japan

Heading to Japan this weekend for a few weeks. Taking in Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Yokohama and Kyoto. Anyone been who has useful tips they'd like to share? Cheers!
  4. Echo this. Hayes didn't look fully fit - if so, what message does this give to the likes of Burns and Storey? We got away with a very poor performance, we're so passive it's incredible, we really need to change our outlook. Three wins out of three is great, and never want to be too harsh on the team when that's happening, they've done the job that was asked of them so fair play. Would like to see us step things up starting next week at a very poor Killie side. Thought Considine did well yesterday and it was a better shift from McLean too. Shinnie really has to stop diving into tackles, he becomes too frantic in the middle of the park. That's the last two matches he's been walking a tightrope for the majority of the game. The bounce for the winner in particular was just brilliant. Best thing AFC have done in recent years was cutting the scum's allocation - could hardly hear them and we were in the same stand as them. As much as I never missed them when they were away, I was really looking forward to yesterday, thank fuck we pulled it out the bag.

  6. Some tasty odds on this game. Huns are favourites for some reason. 3/1 on the huns getting more than three cards is decent as is 10/3 on a red card. John Beaton the ref who did the Hearts - Celtic game in August which is a similar sort of game I suppose, handed out a lot of cards that day. Also taken O'Connor anytime scorer @ 14s; the huns are terrible at defending set pieces and now we have Madison who can actually deliver a set piece competently, O'Connor is strong in the air so it could pay off for us.
  7. Scum. Sub human scum. O'Connor to get the winner and then eat Andy Halliday as way of celebration.
  8. Yeah, the Dons match will be on. They've also got BT Sports back so for any Dons matches on it, get yourself along to the Rock (provided you're not going to the game of course). Red Stars won't be in unfortunately, we've got a cup tie when the game's on, will be recording it and avoiding the score
  9. Never suggested it didn't chief. But teams know how to play against us now - we must be able to mix it up.
  10. Absolutely not convinced Stockley is the answer; really not been impressed by him and the little game time he gets may indicate DM has his concerns too. But 2 up front would be good; 4-2-3-1 is just another fad, and whenever the coaching courses come up with something new to justify the ridiculous fees, all teams will fall into line with that. Playing 2 up should not cause us any issues against the majority of teams in our league, home or away.
  11. And a pretty wretched cup record, poor finishes to seasons, a patchy transfer record which includes glaring gaps in the midfield for the second window on the trot, an inability to possess never mind execute a plan B, poor use of his squad and substitutes, inexplicable loyalty to certain individuals who have more than used up their credit in the bank (some never had much in the first place)... these are all sticks to beat him with. However, if he gets us playing to how we know we can under him, great. He has the players at his disposal, by and large, to get us to where we should be which is second. I am concerned though at how we finished last season and the start to this. We are lethargic and devoid of ideas. The balance to the team doesn't seem right. I hope he pulls us out of this.
  12. Good first post... Of course I would. But I put it like that in terms of the wider support, the media, McInnes himself and of course board of directors. How will they all react? This is a discussion forum and I think we maybe need to generate a bit more discussion on here, but you maybe wouldn't know that if you've not been round here a lot...
  13. One win in his last 10 league matches arching over last season and this is frankly unacceptable. Next week is a huge week - away to a team we should stroll past, cup quarter final and the huns at home - a game with a full house and an angry and passionate crowd, the type of game we have wilted more than not. Fails next week, what happens?
  14. We're really struggling for midfield solidity and yet Storie remains on the bench. I appreciate that the manager sees the players in training and if a player isn't producing there then he shouldn't be playing. But if that's the case then why is Storie on the bench at all? If you have no intention of playing him just leave him out altogether; it's not as if you can say you have him on the bench to give him experience of a match day when the guy has already played a handful of games. McLean gets in the side regardless of performances. There is no consequence management at our club. Never a good thing for a football team.
  15. 1-1 ft. grim, again.
  16. Great, if you let us know in advance what we can and can not talk about, that'd be ace.
  17. I know, I was merely making conversation.
  18. Lennon would be a good foil for Gascoigne, but Lambert could do that job and was a better player, but really, you're picking the best XI I would say Paul McStay has to be in there - know it's probably not a popular call but on his day he was a majestic player. Carried a below average tim team for a long time, and was a stand out in a couple of very good Celtic teams too. Goram was obviously a very good keeper in his own right, but always felt he received praise for making seemingly amazing saves which other keepers would take more comfortably because they had better physiques for goalkeepers. He still pulled of some incredible saves, don't get me wrong, but the range of saves guys like Leighton and Snelders could make was much wider. The save Snelders made in the 89 Cup Final from McCoist's (?) header is probably the best save I've seen in my life - the ball was above and beyond him before he knew it but his reactions and technique to get that over the bar was truly world class. It looks great on tv, but at the match it looked as though he was completely beaten. Goram would have got nowhere near that, for example.
  19. McCoist wasn't even the best striker at the huns in his time never mind in the league over 40 years. Souness as well is a ridiculous shout, was well past his best by then. Would be as well sticking George Best in too on that basis... That is a cracking back 5 though.
  20. O'Connor must be at the back. The difference he makes there is huge. ICT were a bogey team of sorts last season - wouldn't be presumptuous about this game. Would like to see Storie start. Hayes is resuming full training on Monday so I suppose there's a chance he could make it.
  21. Durrant would have been back a lot sooner if he wasn't out on the lash nearly every night. Absolute arsehole of a man then and now. Neale Cooper was running about daft that day, playing as if he was unhinged. I also think the tackle may well have been "meant" for him. It was only a matter of time until someone got it and it's much better it being one of them than one of ours. Tough titty.
  22. Agreed. Celtic is the one team I think two sitters in midfield may be required, but playing that way and one up front against Thistle or Killie is just overkill. It's not required and hampers us in a way.
  23. He over-estimated his opponents and under-estimated his own players. A bad combination. It sends a horrible message to his own players; almost that he doesn't trust them if he lets them off the leash.
